I love these people Robin brings to us in this series. Each character is rich and deep with life’s experiences and wounds. The redemptive nature of the book is amazing. If you like Robin’s books you will love this one. Oh, did i mention suspense. Would not be the same without it. Loved it.
I love this series!
Ginny Lamont has moved to Nutfield, New Hampshire to be near her sister, Kathryn, but she has fallen in love with the town and its residents. This can be the home she has always wanted with family nearby. Roots. She has never had them because of her parent’s lifestyle but now she is going to bible study, making new friends, and renovating her house. It is all great until she discovers her sister’s family is moving without telling her to flee the “trouble” that followed Ginny to Nutfield. Ginny has no idea what Kathryn is referring to but this isn’t the first time she has been rejected by her family.
Kade Powers purchased Kathryn’s house for a below-market price and stands to make a tidy profit when he sells it but it is hard not to feel pity for the pretty, young woman crying on the front porch of the house. He is struggling to get approval for his new development project from the Nutfield city council but he can’t ignore Ginny’s distress. He has wanted an excuse to get to know her better but not under these circumstances and when more trouble arises he finds himself strangely protective of her.
This is a romance mystery but it is also a story of faith. This is a great series and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys well-written, clean stories.
Ginny knew her childhood and family wasn’t typical. There were moves in the middle of the night, taking only what would fit in their vehicle. Always having to start over in a new place wasn’t an ideal childhood, but Ginny had her big sister. Ginny’s dad has died in an unexpected car accident, her sister married and moved away. Then, Ginny’s mother shoved a satchel in her hands and tells her to disappear. Ginny discovers the bag is full of cash. What in the world is going on?
Ginny settles in New Hampshire near her sister, brother-in-law and their children. She is a realtor with plenty of clients and doing well. Has even purchased a house for herself.
What a shock when she decided to drive over to see her sister and sees a moving van in front of the house. Her sister basically tells her they’re leaving. Ginny realizes she hadn’t planned to tell her. She does tell her to run, also-that thanks to Ginny moving there, ‘they’ have found them. What in the world is her sister talking about? Ginny has no idea!
The new owner of Ginny’s sister’s house is there, Kade. He is very friendly and helpful to Ginny. Did I also mention good looking?
Through a series of events, Ginny discovers her parents were involved in illegal things and with the mob. What do they want from Ginny? She knows nothing!
Ginny is determined to not run. She loves it here, but what danger will that put her in? Kade in? Kade’s new development? Ginny’s business? Clients are suddenly leaving her for other realtors. A must read to see how this ends.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book with only one exception. At the beginning of the story, Ginny was clearly not a Christian. I never read where she realized she was a sinner, believed on Christ and repented. It just seemed she suddenly was saved after a little God talk. Maybe I missed something. I hope so.
I love this entire series by Robin Patchen – and this book did not disappoint. The characters are well written and the story line keeps one intrigued and interested. She has a way of making the ending unpredictable. I recommend this book as there is no bad language and while there is a romantic interest, the book is very clean.
I loved reading Legacy Rejected by Robin Patchen. Ginny and Kade’s story is a road of twist and turns. Rejected is honestly poor Ginny’s middle name ok not really, but she deals with a lot of rejection in her life.
I’m jumping ahead, but I honestly cried at the end of the book. I don’t want to give anything away only to say it was a good cry. I loved the book, but I honestly I loved the end of the book the best. I’m usually not one to say the end of the book was the best part. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book from beginning to the end. The end just touched me very personally and deeply.
Ginny and Kade meet up in the beginning of the book when poor Ginny is devastated, broken, vulnerable and lost. They went though a lot together, but through it all their love for each other stayed strong. Neither one gave up on the other one even when it seemed clear that they should have. I think that says a lot about how deeply in love they were with each other.
I have no doubt that You’ll love this book as much as I did!
Happy Reading!
I love this book. Most of all I love love the way all of Genny friends lead her to God with their testimony and living their lives as example of God’s love and grace.i do love the action and mystery.
This was a good read that kept your attention and had you trying to figure out the ending.
Unable to put this book down – it very quickly had me hooked and, while I was hopeful that all would end well, it was impossible to predict. Ginny and Kade were in difficult situations and it was good to see how their faith sustained them. Would highly recommend this book.
The characters were well written and believable. This book gives a reason to have hope beyond sad happenings. Moments were heart poundingly scary. I really enjoyed this book and gladly recommend it.
What a story! In a compelling work of fiction filled with plot twists, mystery, and intrigue, Robin Patchen takes readers on an adventuresome ride! The main female character is Ginny Lamont who is a realtor. Her life now is supposed to be better than her past, but the past hasn’t just creeped up on her; it slams her so hard that Ginny isn’t sure which way to go.
Ginny’s sister leaves her; her mother is an enigma to her, and her father is gone. Someone is after her and they won’t be deterred by anything or anyone! Kade is a man whose siblings are settled and successful. He is just trying to fulfill his dream of building homes. He meets Ginny and they work together. Ginny is introduced to the Lord through Kade and her friends. When she is faced with mortal danger, what will happen to her faith?
Here is novel mixed with romance, faithful friends, a town that turns against her and a shattered life. There is action, danger and more that awaits in the small town of Nutfield in New England. I enjoyed picturing the beautiful areas as described in the tale. The way the characters faced adversity with prayer and courage is a reminder of how we can face ours today.
The antagonists in the story were a stroke of brilliance as I never saw them coming. You can feel the climax building which keeps you turning the pages. If you haven’t read Robin Patchen books, you’re missing great tales that will leave you desiring more from her pen. The second book of this series is due out in October titled, Legacy Restored, with the third and final book coming our January 2020 titled, Legacy Redeemed. I hope you enjoy these novels as I do!
I love this author! Her books are awesome, and Legacy Rejected is just as awesome! This book has it all…funny, sadness, tragedy, fear, hope, inspiration, happily ever after and yes…it leaves you wanting more…but isnt that what a good book does? What do you do when your family isnt there for you…just remember, family isnt always blood 🙂 start this series…you wont be disappointed.
Robin’s characters are always interesting and believable, and her stories are complex. The mystery starts with the first few pages! In this story she outdoes herself with a very entangled backstory related to the main character, Ginny. It unfolds bit-by-bit, which had me turning pages quickly. Ginny is also portrayed as a person of integrity and heart. A sweet, clean romance with a man of character is also included. If you’re looking for romance with mystery, this will fit the bill!
Robin Patchen’s “Legacy Rejected” is a solid 5+ that I loved. It has the perfect balance of suspense and romance while keeping the characters real and believable.
Ginny grabbed my heart from the very beginning. Coming from a bad background, rejected by her family and told to run she has no idea what she’s hiding from. Yet, in the midst of her trials she sees things in a positive light, determined to keep her new life in Nutfield. In her weaknesses she finds strength and determines not to give up. Of course, meeting Kade couldn’t hurt.
Kade is a hometown boy trying to live up to his dad’s perceived expectations and reaching for success to prove himself. For months he’s been interested in Ginny, but as his attraction grows, so does his worry. Things just aren’t right, and he gets pulled in deep as danger creeps ever closer.
Will Ginny’s budding faith be able to stand the test of the lies and circumstances surrounding her? Can Kade keep Ginny safe long enough to figure out whose after her? Will they avoid danger and get their happily ever after?
Come along for the ride. You won’t be disappointed, and along the way you get to revisit some favorite characters from previous series. If you haven’t read the “Hidden Truth” or “Beauty in Flight” series pick them up today and get to know the people of Nutfield.
I highly recommend this book.
A great read that grabbed me from the first page to the last page. A very Suspenseful read that had me on the edge of my seat. The Author has done a great job at bringing this story to fruition. The Characters are brought out really well with there emotions and personalities. Theres twists and turns. Theres never a dull moment. I definitely recommend this read.

Robin has done it again. A page turn with intrigue, danger and clean romance. Ginny has been alone and treated poorly by her family, then she meets Kade and together they face criminals, danger and an unforgiving town. Well written with interesting characters and storyline.
Another wonderful adventure in Nutfield from author Robin Patchen. As always, her characters are engaging and quirky, the setting is *the* small town we all wished we lived in, and there are parts of the story that keep you guessing. While it’s fun to see the cameo appearances of characters from her other series, there’s no need to read them before reading this. But if you haven’t – you’ll want to anyway!
This is quite the suspenseful mystery. Didn’t begin to figure the plot out till the very end. Kept me on the seat of my chair. A really good book. A new, talented author on my reading list. Look forward to the next in this series. I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Ginny is settled in Nutfiled and is happy. She works as a realtor and have some good friends. But when her sister leaves town and tells her she is in danger she fears to come back to her childhood life, changing towns, schools and friends so often she almost has lived all over the US. When she stars to dig into her parent business she finds some connection with the Russian mob. Can she fight for her happiness and stay in town without putting in danger her friends and Kade, the man she is falling in love with?
This book is amazing. The best thing about it is it’s got God in it. Ginny has a family that is somewhat criminal. And the crazy thing about it is all of her family knows what has happened in the past except her. Really she doesn’t know anything, for sure. She only suspects. Kade is very attracted to Ginny and as they grow closer, he grows more protective, and there are some very Bad people after Ginny. I want to tell everyone how truly wonderful this book is, but, then it would take away your enjoyment of this incredible book.
I really loved this book, it was a real page turner and hard to put down. It was nice to read about some of the characters in precious books too. It is christian and clean – perfect!
