FBI special agent Adele Sharp is a German-and-French raised American with triple citizenship—and an invaluable asset in bringing criminals to justice as they cross American and European borders.
When a serial killer case spanning three U.S. states goes cold, Adele returns to San Francisco and to the man she hopes to marry. But after a shocking twist, a new lead surfaces and Adele is dispatched to Paris, to lead an international manhunt.
Adele returns to the Europe of her childhood, where familiar Parisian streets, old friends from the DGSI and her estranged father reignite her dormant obsession with solving her own mother’s murder. All the while she must hunt down the diabolical killer, must enter the dark canals of his psychotic mind to know where he will strike next—and save the next victim before it’s too late.
An action-packed mystery series of international intrigue and riveting suspense, LEFT TO DIE will have you turning pages late into the night.
Books #2 and #3 in the series – LEFT TO RUN and LEFT TO HIDE – are also available for preorder!

Usually, I like his books, but this one was meh. Felt like he was phoning it in.
Loved it
Not bad, just kind of same story, different characters.
Not to my liking. According to reviews fantastic bu i did not find it such.
Great suspense fictional
Great read
I will be looking for other books by this author. He really knows how to spin a tale that holds your attention and keeps you guessing.
Entertaining
While the story/action was good, I personally didn’t like the character, Adele, as much as some others in the various novels. (I especially like the Chloe Fine series.) The story itself was great, though, and kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. The author does a great job of keeping the mystery moving along, with twists and unexpected turns.
Another favorite author. I have read all of his books and usually up half the night doing so!
Pretty good murder mystery/thriller. I initially choose to listen to this book because it was one of few left unlocked because I met my monthly subscription quote, LOL; once I started listening though, I quite enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading book 2 now. Adele Sharp is a unique FBI agent in that she has triple citizenship: German, French, and American. Left to Die takes us on an international chase for a serial killer obsessed with age. Looking forward to more in this series.
Fantastic audio book. Well written and well performed book. Grea ending. Blake Pierce
One of my favorite writers
#Left To Run # Blake Pierce. This is the first novel I have read by this author but I plan to go back and read the 1st one. I enjoyed this book but felt it lacked depth at both the beginning and end leaving a lot of questions left unanswered. I feel like some of the scenarios could have been more fully developed. That being said I enjoyed the interplay between Adele, the main character, and her various international counterparts. The main story is about Adele and her various partners combining forces to try to solve why American women, new to France, are being killed and their kidneys removed. As the story unfolds, Adele tracks down a crime ring dealing in organ smuggling and discovers why the women’s kidneys have been removed. Overall I give it 4/5 stars.
Adele’s case has gone cold. So she’s headed home to San Francisco, to her boyfriend, and what she hopes will be a ring on her finger. But that’s not what’s waiting. As she struggles to deal with this new wrinkle, she’s called back in by her supervisor; seems her psychopath has gone international.
Not ready to go back to the country of her childhood, Adele nonetheless is determined to stop the Benjamin Killer before he claims another victim.
I discovered Pierce in Face of Murder, another haunted main character, with deep secrets that shape their life’s trajectory. It seems the author’s forte. Fascinating characters, chilling plot line. His narrative grabs you and holds you fast. I loved this new series with its slightly damaged heroine. You will too!
[Many thanks to Booksirens and the author for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I was not required to write a review. This is my honest review, the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.]

another great book by Blake
I was kept on the edge of my seat. I was wrong on who I thought the killer was but loved the whole book. I’ll be waiting for Blake’s next book.
Everything in every book he writes is a page-turner that cannot be put down
