FBI special agent Adele Sharp is a German-and-French raised American with triple citizenship—and an invaluable asset in bringing criminals to justice as they cross American and European borders.
When a serial killer case spanning three U.S. states goes cold, Adele returns to San Francisco and to the man she hopes to marry. But after a shocking twist, a new lead surfaces and Adele is dispatched to Paris, to lead an international manhunt.
Adele returns to the Europe of her childhood, where familiar Parisian streets, old friends from the DGSI and her estranged father reignite her dormant obsession with solving her own mother’s murder. All the while she must hunt down the diabolical killer, must enter the dark canals of his psychotic mind to know where he will strike next—and save the next victim before it’s too late.
An action-packed mystery series of international intrigue and riveting suspense, LEFT TO DIE will have you turning pages late into the night.
Books #2 and #3 in the series – LEFT TO RUN and LEFT TO HIDE – are also available for preorder!

Blake Pierce never disappoints. I really love Adele Sharp. She’s an excellent addition to his list of characters. Adele is tracking down a serial killer while trying to live her own life, but seriously, what real detective has a love life? Ooops, spoiler! Love Pierce The Page Turner!!
Another unique suspenseful read from Blake! Adele is an FBI agent with a unique background as she holds citizenship in the US, France, and Germany. As she tracks a killer in the US, she finds out that he has actually fled the country after her getting close to finding him and since she has citizenship in France, she follows him there. In France, she reconnects with her old employer and the life she abruptly left back there, and joins forces with them to take the killer down. Then, as she closes in on him again, he flees to Germany, where Adele again has the advantage of having citizenship, and follows him again. The premise and execution of this was a little strange to me, but overall I followed along the storyline. Something I wish that we had gotten more information on though is what happened to Adele’s mother and the reason for her abrupt and unpleasant departure from France. Hoping to find out in the coming books!
