This book was beautiful, it has all the tings you look for in a young adult/romance novel. I really enjoyed this one

If you are a fan of either Vi Keeland or of a YA book, then you NEED to read Left Behind. This book was an amazing read!!! I will forewarn you though….this is completely different from Vi Keeland’s MMA Series and if you aren’t a fan of high school aged characters then this might not be the book for you.
I am huge fan of Vi’s MMA series and when I saw that she was venturing out to write a YA book with another author I just knew I had to read it. I am so glad I did, because I wasn’t disappointed one bit!!!! The writing between Vi and Dylan was seamless!!! I loved this storyline also. I will say that yes this story was slightly predictable in the sense that you know what the little twist is regarding Zach and Nikki (and Emily) pretty much right away in the beginning of the story, but don’t worry, this story will still keep you hooked until the end. Plus there are more secrets along the way that come out. The authors did a fantastic job of creating a storyline that keeps you intrigued all the way through and you want to keep turning the pages to see how everything plays out and turns out in the end. They also did a wonderful job at creating characters who are easy to connect with. Zack and Nikki were very believable and relatable characters. This was a pretty quick read…I was able to read it in less than a day, but nothing seemed rushed in the story.
Nikki and Zack were such broken souls, both having experienced loss at such a young age. Nikki was a 17 year old girl living in a trailer park with her Bipolar mom and BFF Ashley. In the beginning of the story Nikki’s mom dies and she is left all alone. She finds things when she is cleaning out her mom’s stuff, which sends her on a mission to find out the truth. That leads her from Texas to California, where she moves in with her aunt. Zack is an 18 year old boy who looses his girlfriend in a tragic car accident, which leads him to have severe guilt and drop into a severe depression….that is before he meets Nikki. Once these two see each other they know there is a bond between them but don’t understand why. The story goes on to show how they grow together as a couple and as characters. They learn to help each other grieve over their losses. I love how their connection was so strong it didn’t even need words (You’ll understand that once you read the story)
I also enjoyed Ashley and Keeler’s characters. They are the BFF’s of Nikki and Zack. Ashley is the best friend everyone once. She stood by Nikki no matter what. I also loved that she was sassy and had great spunk. Keeler is harder to explain….I just loved his banter with Zack. He just said some of the funniest things.
I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. If you are a fan of Vi’s or a fan of a really sweet YA story, then you don’t want to miss this book. Now even though this book is young adult, there was still some steam in it, it was just age appropriate and graphically detailed.
