What a wonderful story. Katie and Steven are very young and Katie is five months pregnant. They have moved to a new town, purchased a new home with help, and Steven has a new job which he loves. Katie is feeling a bit restless and as if she is missing out on something. A craving. Strawberries and ice cream. Missing. So much worry. A new baby. And much love.
This is a great, well written love story about never giving up hope, even when everyone disagrees with you.
Highly recommend.
I was given this ARC and voluntarily wrote my honest review.
I love the Friessens and always enjoy visiting with them but…the last few books seem to be short and wrapped up very quickly. I’m not sure why this is but it’s a little disappointing. With that said, I still enjoyed this quick visit with Steven & Katy. They are out on their own away from family and expecting a baby. They have to grow up quickly and they get a good dose of reality when Steven goes missing. Can’t wait to see what comes next for them.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Wonderful story!

I’m a somewhat new fan of Lorhainne Eckhart’s books. I actually have about all of them in Kindle format but just haven’t made time to read them. As a fairly new audiobook addict, I’ve jumped at the chance to receive some of her audios in exchange for a review, including this one. The only problem with this is that I’ve listened to her series out of order. It didn’t matter for some of the books but I really wished I’d read books 6-9 in order.
That being said, Leave the Light On was a wonderful book and I don’t regret listening to it out of order. I know this sounds like I’m contradicting myself but just because I prefer reading/listening to series in order I don’t want to discourage anyone else from picking this up even if they haven’t read the preceding books.
Because I’d read In the Family (book 9 or 10 depending on what list you are looking at) I already knew some of what happened in this story. What I didn’t know is how things happened or why. This story had a lot of suspense to it for me and I was kept on the edge of my seat waiting for things to happen.
While this is a relatively short audiobook it really packed a punch. I’m so delighted that I finally have experienced the stories in this series. My one disappointment is that they all aren’t yet available in audio format.
I almost forgot to say anything about the narration… Leave the Light On is the first book I’ve listened to by K. Richardson and I liked it. One small criticism is that I thought her voice sounded almost too happy in some places; like the character was grinning and it just didn’t fit for me at times.
I’m finding it a bit strange that this series has so many different narrators. In other favorite series this would have bothered me but it hasn’t seemed to make a difference in The Friessens and I’m really enjoying it.
