Like the ocean, life is a beautiful force. One that can tear you limb from limb or lavish you in perfect moments. Michelle Hathaway has it all: a view of the Eiffel Tower from her loft in Paris, a successful career as a fashion photographer, ownership in an up-and-coming art gallery, and jet-setting days filled with excitement. But, even with all that luxury, her life feels aimless.Over the … aimless.
Over the years, Michelle drifted on the tide of a long distance, on-again off-again relationship with Micah Roberts, a hot bass player in a popular rock band. When he finally asks her to move to Los Angeles to be with him, she risks everything, taking the leap into a new life.
Drowning in the wake of her decisions, she struggles just to breathe as destiny threatens to take everything. As unexpected events devastate her, will Michelle surface from the depths of despair?

Omg the feels! I’ve read all the book in this series so far and this one has me crying.
Michelle and Micah are finally together and moving in to together. But the heartache starts. I don’t wanna give anything away. But the emotional roller coaster I was on in this book, I cried so much then laughed so hard. It was a brilliant story. I know this was as hard to read as it was to write. Definitely a emotional book so don’t expect lovey dovey the whole book. Bad things happen that will gut you.
Wow. This book hide under the covers with a box of tissues, sniffling, in the dead of the night so no one can see you, ugly cry kind of book. To finally let go and allow yourself to love and feel the love of someone that means the world to you then to have to watch them struggle with a killer disease is a hard thing to go through. I am talking from personal experience, and I could tell Marissa had done the same because she could not have pinpointed that raw pain without having experienced it. I am glad I took the chance and read this book on a friend’s recommendation because it was well worth the tears and puffy face to see how she resolved the story while still giving Michelle the happy ending she deserved.
Michelle goes through an emotional journey losing everything and learning that she can love again and that it’s ok to rely on people to help her through her bad times in her life.
Slowly Michelle realises that if she ever wants to have her own happiness that she should stop putting up walls and let people in.
With the help of her friends and family though all her ups and downs they help her learn to breathe and live and love life again. An amazing story following The Falling Series.
This books takes you on an emotional journey and hits you hard, right where it hurts. It’s well written and nothing ever feels rushed, it is very well paced. Micah and Michelle go through an emotional and heartbreaking journey together. Each challenge seems harder than the last and when all seems lost, Michelle learns that is okay to lean on your family and friends for support. They help get her through these rough times even when she’s not sure of what she needs. Which is one of my favorite things about this plot, how her family and friends are always there for her and even giving her time and space alone when she needs it. Slowly Michelle began to learn how to continue on with life though all her highs and lows. This is such a great written book about grief and really makes you connects with each character especially the main ones. Overall I really enjoyed this book and look forward to read more books by this author
Having read this author before and enjoyed I did not delay in opening this one. Michelle takes you on a journey that will most certainly pull on some emotional strings as she has actions in life that have big effects. Going in the direction she does she will find she needs to learn to live actually. There will be ups, downs, and sniffles. This is also one that has to be read for yourself each one having their own take. The author has the ability to transport you into this characters journey getting the picture with feelings.
