Learning Curves is a single dad, enemies to lovers, curvy girl rom-com with a teacher that everyone wished they had in school, and a swoon-worthy dad that would do anything for his daughter. Throw in an overeating dog and watch what happens next.To Spencer Hurley, women only left pain and destruction in their wake. The only good thing that came from his disaster of an ex was his daughter, … daughter, Annabelle. Right now, making sure Belle was taken care of and getting her the help she needed with her learning disabilities was his only focus. And if that meant moving to a new town, consider the moving truck rented and packed.
Ellie Ryan spent her childhood being judged and bullied because of her learning disabilities. Jokes on them, though, she was now the top special education teacher in her district. See, Ellie totally had her life together. Kind of. Maybe… Okay, really, she’s a word-vomiting, curvy, hot-mess, who hasn’t had a date in who knows how long. And then there was Roxy, her rude overeating dog. Nevertheless, Ellie was fiercely protective of her students. She’d gladly rip out the throat of anyone that dared to mess with her kids. Including their parents.
So, please explain to Ellie why, even after calling her new student’s father out during a disastrous parent-teacher meeting, Ellie couldn’t help being insanely attracted to the gruff single dad? Somebody, please help her. Besides, nothing good could come from it… right?

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a super cute and fun romance between a single dad and his daughters new teacher. It has a big theme of bullying and how it can affect children when its a teacher doing the bullying. It was an awesome message and it was done in a really great way, among the romance and story of this book.
The author is brand new to me and I really enjoyed her writing style and the characters she created in this story. This story was very fun with lots of crazy parents and a school principal but also lots of LOL moments. I highly enjoyed this fun story and hope to read more by this author.
This story stars Spencer, who is new to town and a very hot, protective dad to his daughter who is special needs, very mildly. Ellie is the special needs teacher and she ends up being his daughters teacher. They start out in a bad way but slowly over time fall for each ot
Molly did it again! She has cracked me up and made me fall in love with her characters all over again!
I have no idea where to start.
Ellie is hilarious and reminds me of the author who wrote her. But I love Belle. She is adorable. Roxy is ornery. Randal is where it’s at though. He cracked me up the most! I want to see him in future works.
Ellie has known bullying and discrimination [of a way] all her life. Having a learning disability should never make you feel less than anyone else. That is what she wants to ensure for all her students. Enter Annabelle Hurley and in turn, her father Spencer and things are about to heat up in here!
This book will crack you up, make you laugh, get emotional, cry, want to throw something but in the end, put you all together again in an amazing HEA.
I recommend to EVERYONE, not just rom-com readers.
I don’t even know if there’s enough words to explain how much I loved this book. I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump this week. I read my favourite book of the year and was afraid that whatever I picked up next just couldn’t compare. I bought this book on kindle recently and thought it sounded fun, and hopefully the perfect thing to get me out of my slump. Turns out I was wrong in thinking the next book I read wouldn’t compare to the last one – this book is amazing. One of the easiest 5/5 I’ve ever given.
As a plus size woman, I’m always looking for books that have a plus size main character. It’s not represented often, and even when it is, I often don’t love the way it’s done. But this was honestly just done so well. I love when a main character loves every inch of their partner, and their size and shape isn’t fetishized or the main plot of the story, it’s just an acknowledgment of these bodies existing and they’re worth appreciating just like any other body, despite not being shown in books or movies as often.
I can’t believe I’m this far into my review already and haven’t mentioned how incredibly funny this book is. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever laughed this much while reading a book. I had no idea it was going to be so hilarious, and there’s still moments in my mind that I’m thinking about and still laughing to myself about.
The way learning disabilities are handled in this book was lovely. I also loved the inclusion of both family relationships, and the discussion of family not always being the people who were a part of a person actually being born. Some really important topics were touched on in this book, and it was all just done so well.
I loved this. I’m so glad I own the eBook so I can reread it whenever I want, and I definitely will be buying the paperback version as well for my shelf. Read this! Please, please read this.
Romantic comedy!
This book had me laughing out loud! There are hilarious moments throughout this book. The characters are relatable and the storyline feel unique and is interesting. Although there is plenty of humour there is also romance and sweetness along with determination and resilience to overcome other people’s negativity and lack of understanding and ignorance and strength.
A brilliant read!!
Everytime I pick up a Molly O’Hare book I just know I am going to absolutely love it!! In Learning Curves we meet Ellie Ryan she is as sassy witty teacher who may or may not have an issue with spewing just about everything that runs through her mind. I absolutely love her and her quick wit. She is sweet, caring, and yes as the blurb states the kind of teacher everyone wishes they had while in school. She stands up for students, and refuses to let anyone bully those who are different than others. Spencer is a single dad to the adorable Annabelle. They have had a few struggles with they way Belle has been treated by teachers and her peers. Making the only decision he could to provide a better life for his daughter he moves them to a place where she can get the education and help she needs.
Belle is an absolute joy. Yes she may have issues with those who have treated her differently, but she has not let it cloud her. Her disposition is sweet and innocent, and her quick comebacks had me giggling. For a 9 year old she definitely knows how to keep her dad on his toes. I loved following these characters as they find each other.
As in any other Molly O’Hare book I have read you get those laugh out loud moments. There are a few different parts in this book that I had to re-read just because they made me laugh. I love her sweet and sassy heroines along with the uber sweet alpha males. The secondary characters help this story flow so well. I will say you will fall in love with Ellie’s students, and lets not forget her BFF Sally!
Loved this story! Ellie has overcome negativity about her own learning difficulties, instead of lying down she fought to prove her uniqueness and strengths. She now dedicates her life to teaching children how to utilise their different methods of thinking to help with their learning. She is much loved! Completely batty but passionate about everything in her own unique way. Her dog Roxy…… all I can say is they are well matched.
Spencer is a dedicated dad and would move heaven and earth for his daughter Annabelle. Belle is anxious about school, but meets Ellie on her first day. Finally a teacher and female figure that is helpful, encouraging, kind, funny and loves her like a mama bear!
The interactions between the three of them or the grandparents were my favourite parts. I had a goofy smile and giggled the whole way through.
LEARNING CURVES by Molly O’Hare. This is a fun tale that made me smile throughout. Ellie is blunt and to the point, yet so unorganized and lives in constant chaos. I adored her! Spencer is uber sexy, and he, along with his daughter and dad, also say pretty much whatever comes to mind. The interactions between Ellie, Spencer and their parents were delightful. Oh, I could actually envision Ellie’s cringes when her mom would speak. The banter between Ellie and Spencer certainly made me want to break out a fan and the situations Ellie found herself in made me laugh out loud. I do wish the ending was a little more drawn out – I was slightly disappointed by the rushed feel of it, but overall, I highly recommend this tale is you enjoy a light rom-com that is certainly entertaining. (Received ARC for honest review)
I love Molly’s books. They always make me laugh and this book had me smiling but hit some points that I actually dealt with in regards to one of my daughters.
The interaction of these characters is hysterical especially Ellie’s dog Roxy. The quick whit and outrageous commentary between all the characters will pull you in and have you laughing.
I absolutely love the Ellie’s fierce determination to better herself and help the children in her life. I only wish my girls had a teacher like her.
Spencer is a fantastic dad that will stop at nothing to help his daughter. Who by the way steals the show many times. I just loved her
Fantastic book I will be recommending
“He knew that was the moment he fell in love with Ellie.” The perfect line to a perfect romance. Even though Ellie and Spencer didn’t hit it off right off the bat, Molly O’Hare did it again. She found a way to captivate you, with falling in love with her characters all while laughing at their unpleasant moments. Learning Curves is a romantic comedy between Ellie and her new student’s father Spencer. Ellie grew up with learning disabilities and never let that or the negative things people say about her hold her back from being the greatest learning disabilities teacher. When it comes to any of her students having any issues Ellie has no problem standing up for them. this makes me have so many feelings for this book. I had a learning disability, stuttered a lot and could barely pronounce my “S” or “R”. I loved that Spencer and Ellie had me laughing out loud at all their crazy moments all while making me fall in love with them. Learning Curves
This books has the perfect ingredients to be a hit in your bookshelves, is sweet, funny, romantic, parents that are noisy, pets that are more intelligent than some humans, and kids that are amazing, all of those aspects and with the author’s writing you are going to fall head over heels since the beginning, and we can forget the other serious part that these books has is that makes us aware of some themes that are a reality, and anyone can go through them, but with a good support system you can overcome anything and be which ever you want to be.
Really loved this emotional and heartwarming journey filled with interesting and engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and sweetly sexy passion. Was a fun and entertaining way to spend a lazy afternoon in the summer sun with a cold drink.
4 Stars
Learning Curves is a fun, laugh out loud, romantic comedy with sweet moments that will leave you with a smile upon your face. Spencer and Ellie, get off on the wrong foot, but it doesn’t deter the sparks from flying between this pair.
The hero Spencer is a protective and loving father to Annabelle (Belle) and will do anything to help her learn, succeed and thrive.
Learning Curves is a story close to my heart, as my son is a similar age to Belle, and suffers from dyslexia and dyscalculia.
The heroine Ellie is a quirky, endearing, fun and sassy heroine. She’s likeable, protective, kind and caring, especially when it comes to her student. She understands them on a deeper level as she suffers from the same learning disabilities as her students when it comes to reading, writing and numeracy. Ellie tends to lack a filter and say exactly what’s on her mind, and if something can go wrong it invariably does.
The secondary characters are fun and endearing, and have no shame when it comes to saying whatever pops into their minds, with humorous results.
Although this was my first time reading Molly O’Hare’s work it will not be my last. A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read.
5 Stars
I absolutely loved this sweet, funny and sexy read! Ellie is the perfect heroine for a great Romantic Comedy! Spencer is also the perfect sexy leading man, and single Dad. Add in an adorable little girl and a hilarious dog…this book as everything you want and need for an enjoyable book they will keep you laughing and make your heart expand with love! I also have to comment, the incorporation of learning disabilities, the approach taken with them, was not only realistic, it was refreshing! I myself have a daughter with disabilities similar to those in this story, and I adored reading a book that made me see such happiness and love and in a real life environment, with everyday issues! I look forward to more from Molly O’Hare now that I have discovered her books!

Hands down this book is perfection!
A single dad romantic comedy that made me laugh, swoon and the sizzling chemistry was off the charts!!
Ellie was a quirky, wonderful character that truly has a heart of gold and her job as a special ed teacher is second to none! She cares and has no filter and I just loved her ability to just be herself as well as stand up for those she cares for!! I wanted to be her friend so badly! She was an absolute hoot!
With Spencer and his daughter being new to town, needless to say their meeting is too funny!
The antics, snark and sass in this book is so on point and I loved how the author wrote every word! This is only the second book I have read from this author and I will definitely want to read more of her work! She has written a story she should be immensely proud of! It was an absolute pleasure to read this beautiful heartwarming book! It was such a highlight and I would highly recommend this as the perfect rom com!
OMG if you need something to make you laugh out loud, Learning Curves is the one for you.
There is ridiculous hilarity throughout this book that is interwoven with a strong message of celebrating being ‘different’.
We have humour, drama, kids and animals… oh and a swoon worthy hero. This book has it all goin’ on.
Add in parents, workmates and friends that add fuel to the drama fire and you’ll seriously be lyao!
What an absolutely brilliant way to be introduced to a new author. Learning Curves may have been my first but it certainly won’t be my last Molly O’Hare book!
Spencer is a single dad to a little girl, and when he finds out how she is being treated at school, he does his research and moves them to a new town where there is a top special educator teacher. Ellie was bullied throughout her schooling and now she can show the finger to those that treated her so badly, as she is the top educator teacher. This is a fantastic story which has engaging and relatable characters. This is a beautifully written story which is a humorous and entertaining romance comedy, which pulls at the heartstrings. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. Hat’s off to this awesome author as she never disappoints her readers!
I was one of the lucky few able to read concept chapters of Learning Curves. Even so, it wasn’t until I had the final version on my tablet that the heart, soul, humility, and motivation behind this book truly shined through. If you read the preface, you’ll understand Leaning Curves is the culmination not only of Molly’s personal experience, but also of why her no-holds-barred style for internal monologue makes her a phenomenal romantic comedy writer. She was able to draw in characters from her other books seamlessly as if every person was a key element to the story and create a situation that not only makes this read laugh out loud funny, but also tugs at your heartstrings.
3.5 Stars
This was really funny. I really enjoyed most of the characters and even the dog. I love how even while making this book laugh out loud funny it still dealt with a serious issue and made it relatable but not poked fun at it.
This is a new to me author who I’ll be checking out more from for sure.
I recieved an advance copy of this on behalf of the author and I volunteered to leave an unbiased review.
3-1/2 Stars!
This book was a laugh out loud insta love book. It had me giggling, shaking my head & blushing!
Ellie is probably the most dramatic, sassy, crazy character I’ve ever read. At some points I shook my head because so much drama. But she also has a heart of gold. They way she stood up for her students or any child/person is what all people should strive for. Never let alone feel bad about being “different” from the “normal”.
Spencer is a kickass dad. At first I wasn’t sure I’d like him as a romantic interest but he definitely turned things around. Spencer & Ellie had the most whirlwind romance I’ve read in a while.
Their parents were absolutely hilarious, & extremely pushy! Sally had me giggling every time. If you like funny, insta love stories than this is the book for you!
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
This book was an absolute blast to read. It had so many hilarious moments in it. I absolutely live for Ellie in all her messy glory add in the sexy alphalicious, single dad Spencer and his yum yum lines (absolute genius I’m calling them this now) and their insta love connection and you have all you need for an awesome book, but add in some awesome supporting characters like the brilliant 9 year old Annabelle, the crazy best friend, dads best friend/boss and three over the top, but incredible parents and we absolutely cannot forget the food obsessed Roxy and this book becomes even that much more. To top off all this wonderfullness, and underneath all the fun laughs this book also has a great message about people who learn differently than others due to learning disabilities and how sometimes they are let down by people who are supposed to advocate for them as a mama of a little girl who is autistic I could completely relate to this story line. My kid is so lucky to have a teacher and a school that supports her learning and is giving her the best opportunity to be all that she can be and I don’t know what we would do without them.
