My plan was as simple as they come… in theory. Show up at the Cerberus clubhouse and give dear old Dad a piece of my mind. What I didn’t expect was being welcomed by the open arms of a father who had no idea I existed.More importantly, I didn’t anticipate HER. Delilah Donovan was a breath of fresh air. She would soon become my reason for wanting to become a better man, my reason for getting out … getting out of bed with a smile on my normally sneering face. But no matter how much I changed, she’d always be too good for a man like me.
It was over before it could even begin.

Fantastic, dramatic, exceptional and beautiful beginning of the next generation to the Cherberus MC. Marie James is on the top of my list of authors. This book was so well written, just like all Ms. James’ other books. I adore her style of writing. Every time I read a story of hers, I get pulled in and I enjoy the amazing ride I’m taken on. I loved all of Cherberus MC books and was hoping to that there would be a continuation. Snatch (Jaxon) and Itchy’s (Rob) story was probably my favorite of the books in the series. Lawson was well worth the wait. Glad we got to see glimpses of the “older” men and women of the MC.
Lawson and Delilah are captivating. Young love, with ups and downs, twist turns, suspense and intrigue. This book had it all. You do not necessarily have to read the previous books but you are missing out if you haven’t read them.
High recommend this book and all the others in the Cherberus series.
A PHENOMENAL must-read romance!
Another phenomenal tale involving the members and families of the Cerberus MC! Yet, Lawson’s and Delilah’s love story is filled with something different. While their love started when they were barely adults, circumstances and brokenness made LAWSON read like a breathtaking enemy to lovers romance – while presenting so much more. The plots and subplots were so compelling, I had to listen to an android voice while I did my daily chores and while working after having slept only an hour or so last night because I couldn’t put LAWSON down. I am not sure how she does it, but author Marie James has reached such a high “incredibly favored author” status, that my Kindle Unlimited subscription is finally being used as I binge on the Cerberus MC series like a new fan-girl. With writing so enticing that those amazing plotlines, outstanding characters, and varying levels of both suspense and danger have kidnapped my focus and have so thoroughly captured my focus, I fear that I will suffer the worst kind of intellectual and emotional withdrawals when I have read the last of these amazing romances. I cannot over-state the draw of these Cerberus MC novels, nor the wonder of each new romance penned by an amazing storyteller. I have already downloaded HOUND, the next novel in the series. So, I will say in closing, if I could award 10 stars, I would give LAWSON eleven! However, only 5 stars are available. LAWSON is a STRONG 5+STAR recommended read (as are the previous 5 novels that I may not have taken time to review because the beckoning of the next novel was sounding too loudly in my ear!) If you have not started this series, these are standalone novels, so you can start with LAWSON! Get your copy, today. Happy pages!
I was so excited to read this book, and stopped up through the night. I couldn’t put my kindle down…It was so good!
Lawson has had such a rough time. He arrives at the MC to get answers and to find his father…
What he doesn’t expect is to find Delilah…
From that moment he can think of nothing else…
Don’t want to give too much away. But throughly enjoyed Lawson and Delilah’s story, and getting to find out more about all the other characters in the MC. Think the second generation books are a great addition to the series. Can’t wait to read more. I’m totally addicted to Marie James’s books
This is part of a series, I know this says its book one, but it’s book one of the spin off and for this to make any sense the previous books should be read. At the end of Snatch’s story he gets a surprise, a bouncing baby boy, its just 18 years too late. Lawson was desperate when he showed up on his sperm donor’s doorstep, he had his brother, Drew, to think about and they were hungry. Seeing that his father has a family and that they have more than Drew and Lawson ever had, makes Lawson hate Snatch even more. The only redeeming person here is Delilah, but she is under age and hands off. Delilah is a good girl, volunteering, already getting ready for college, and doesn’t really notice guys; that is until Lawson walks in. She knows no good can come from this but no matter how hard she fights she just can’t resist him. But when he leaves, and leaves her devastated, will she ever forgive him? Can the their two roads meet again when Lawson is the man he knows that Delilah deserves?
I was so excited about this book coming. We are getting a second gen series and this starts off HOT! Snatch is still my favorite of the series so far but this is still a 5 star read. I am so excited to see what’s next for the kids of Cerberus.
This is the first book that I’ve read by this author, but seems to be the beginning of a series that follows the children of the characters of another series, about the Cerberus MC. Since I’ve not read the original MC series, I can honestly say that they do not have to be read first to understand this book. There are some references to those characters, the MC and their activities, but I was able to keep up just fine. I am intrigued enough that I’m going to have to go back and read that series!
This book is broken up into two parts. The first covering the initial meeting and interactions of Lawson and Delilah, and the second covering their reunion after circumstances and youthful stupidity pull them apart. They initially meet when they are just 18 and 16 years old, and Lawson has a huge chip on his shoulder, mostly due to his very harsh upbringing. Delilah is a very sweet, naive girl that had a very happy home life. Without revealing too much (I really hate spoilers!), they are driven apart and it takes some maneuvering to put them back on their path.
I love how sweet Delilah is in the beginning, and hurt for her loss of the naiveté of youth. I can completely understand how hurt she was and why she held onto that hurt for so long. I also felt for Lawson, and how he grew up so hard and felt like he had to protect himself. I was amazed by his tenacity and capacity for love.
This was a great love story, and I was on the edge of my seat. There were times that I saw no way possible for a HEA, but the author managed to pull it off beautifully! I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment, and in the meantime, I’m off to hunt down the other series!

Lawson…come to confront his father, who didn’t know he exist..
Lawson…beginning wasn’t easy, has an attitude to match…
But he learns a valuable a life lesson…
I love this novel, it is great beginning for the second generation series…
I love the characters, their development, growth…and their story all together…
I anxiously waiting for the next in the series!
When you fall in love with a series and it sadly comes to an end there is nothing that will put a big smile on your face then when the author does a second generation. Hello Lawson, you are just as angry as your Dad was when he was younger and you are just as sexy too. When Lawson meets his father for the first time all the anger that he has towards this man is all unjustified but it will take him trusting not only his father but the Cerberus MC to see that all was not as he was told. When Lawson first sees Delilah she takes his breath away and every thought he has of her is less than PG. As these two struggle with their feelings for each other and not speaking what is on their mind what they really hope for with each other comes to stop that will break both of them. One of them will force themselves to become a better person in the hope that they will get another chance and the other will make decisions that they will feel ashamed of. This first book in the second generation will have you glowing with happiness as we get to visit with the men, women and their families from the Cerberus MC that we all fell in love with. You will be hooked with just one sexy crude statement out of Lawson’s mouth and Delilah will have you cheering from the side line in the hope that she gets her happily ever after.
