Two things happened the morning after reading Lawless: the first; I woke up face puffy and exhausted. Maybe bc its Friday and i hate getting up early. Or maybe its because my body is wrung out from the emotions of spending 7 hours in a Lawless world with Bear, Thia, King , Doe and Preppy.
The second thing ; i have a sudden urge to find an orange grove. I NEED to smell the rot of the oranges. I NEED to hear the “thump” of the oranges as they fall to the wasted rotting earth. Don’t judge me!!
These two things aside. I can overwhelmingly say this about Lawless. It is by far my favorite T.M. Frazier book. Yes, I’ve loved Bear from the moment Doe spotted him at the first party in King. So its not surprising that I love “Lawless”. But what i wasn’t prepared for was to fall in love again with an author and her writing style. The character growth in this book is astounding. Getting glimpses into King and Doe’s (Ray) post Tyrant life is like looking at two people who have been through hell and not only survived, but persevered and leaned from their hell!
And then there is Thia. Cynthia (Thia, Ti) Andrews, I’m 100% sure you just became my favorite TM female character! And 100% sure you just became one of my top 3 female characters of all time. I judge female characters unnecessarily harshly sometimes, I don’t like a whiny girl. Thia is the standard by which I will probably judge all female characters from this point forward. My other top is Elizabeth Bennett of Pride and Prejudice, so you can see where that doesn’t fit into the modern romance era. Anyway, back to Thia. This girl/woman/character is so complex, she makes my head spin. The things she has seen, done and lived through in her 17-18 short years. She takes no crap, from anyone and is the backbone for so many people in her life. It’s no wonder Bear is enamored with her and captivated from the very moment he meets her, even if they are only in each other’s company briefly that first meeting. Her strength and maturity shines through and you forget that she may only be a preteen girl. She impresses a man who is virtually unimpressible, he’s seen it all and done it all himself! Years later when they meet again, she has only grown in maturity and strength. It’s a true equal for all the things that make Bear, the Bear, we all know and love.
And there is Bear. Oh my Bear. I’m not sure what made me so drawn to him in that first party scene in King, something about T.M.’s words drew me into his character. Her description of his looks and swagger was so on point, that I immediately could see Bear in my mind. When he calls Doe “beautiful”, sigh….it was love at first sight/read. I love all of her characters, but Bear is just a cut above the rest for me. He is so intricate in his hate, rage, beauty, humor, loyalty and fierceness. You can keep peeling back Bear’s layers, only to find more and more layers of feelings and the feels. Oh god the feels. I had to stop reading Lawless several times, I had a couple (ten+) palm to forehead moments, several “breathe breathe breathe” moments. The glimpses you get into his younger years are the most precious gift we’ve received in this series. Beloved characters from the two previous books live on through memories and back story and it’s truly a gift.
Bear and Thia together are a push and pull, tug of war of the best kind of tension you will ever find. Their connection is instant and innocent to start. As they meet again later on, it’s another kind of instant and it will start fires that will burn your world to ash. And you’ll be begging T.M. for more.
Some of you may be questioning if you really want to be forced into such a feeling coma, the resounding answer is YES!! The 7 hours I spent in the Lawless world felt like I was watching a movie or actually living in Logan’s Beach on the Causeway with these guys. The writing is so well done, it is like being submerged into another land, I’ve never wanted to be in Florida so much. 😉
I know I’ve basically written a book review the length of an actual book, but Lawless and Bear’s story resonated with me so much. I can’t help it and I love that! The mark of a good book is to make you feel something, anything. And Lawless makes me feel everything. Hard.
I don’t hand out 5 star reviews often, especially ones this wordy, but Lawless and T.M. are truly deserving. If I could give it more stars, I would. It is most definitely my top read of 2015.
Why are you still reading my ridiculously long love letter to BEAR?! Go, get the book and READ IT, NOW!!!

First off we are getting two Bear’s story so be warned this is going to be a cliffy!!! But I have come to terms with that as that means we get more Bear, moving on!!!
King series has been my favorite new series of the year and Tracey my fave new author of the year. So you can imagine I have high expectations for this series.
We are introduced to Bear’s family father an asshole we already knew that but it’s taken up a few notches here and his mother well…..
I’ve always liked Bear, his loyalty is irrefutable which is why King will do anything
to help him.
He first meets Thia as a 10 year old she had balls even back then her tragic childhood is what brings her to Bears door. Bear is on a destructive path due to what happened to him in Tyrant (yes you do need to read King and Tyrant) you should anyways because they are great books.
King and Ray feature in this book love and miss my King. He’s willing to soldier up for Bear if needed. Ghost Preppy makes his appearance also love and miss him. Because pancakes.
This story has so many ‘what the fuck, what the hell’ moment it will have you reading quicker than you normally do because you need to know where the fuck is this heading.
You will finish this story with more questions and wonder what the hell just happened. A sign of a good writer is when you are left wanting more.
My high expectations has been met. This has been left on an obvious cliffhanger and of course a what the fuck moment.
Bring on Soulless!!!!

I really liked the premise of this story.
I loved how Bear and Thia met years ago when she was just a girl and reunited during a tumultuous time in both of their lives. She’s strong and mature for her age. She takes responsibility and isn’t afraid to shoot a man (literally.) She’s exactly the kind of girl Bear needs to get him to clean up his act and handle his business. Now that he’s without an MC, he has a price on his head. He has a fight ahead of him.
The only thing I had a problem with was the King-like action that Bear took trying to push Thia away. I felt like I was rereading the same chapter from King. Random chick, crappy handjob, tears, guilt, and then a big speech about love and possession.
TM Frazier then leaves you with her trademark WTF moment for a cliffhanger! My jaw if permanently on the floor thanks to her books. Let’s see what Soulless has in store!
