If you’ve read the first two books in my series, Sweet Savannah Home, (Surrender Your Heart & The Reluctant Widow) you’ll recognize these characters. Hannah Hamilton leaves her two small children with her sisters and travels to Texas to care for her injured aunt. Just as she arrives, she’s robbed and hit over the head, knocking her out. When she gains consciousness, she doesn’t remember … remember anything – not even her name. The owners of a hotel tell her she’s Anna, a hotel maid they had hired and were waiting for to arrive on the train. Feeling lost and alone, the only thing that gives her a comforting feeling is the very handsome U.S. Marshal with dreamy eyes. Somehow her heart is connected to this man, but it frightens her that she might be falling for him too quickly.
Marshal Colt Montgomery can’t believe that bad luck has followed him to Texas. Seeing Hannah again brings back memories of when he was in love with her while she was married to his best friend. Colt had poured out his heart to her not long after her husband died, but she only wanted to be friends. Now, fate has thrown them together again, but this time, an outlaw is after her. Colt must do all he can to protect her from being killed. He also needs to do something to protect his heart, because as soon as she gains her memory, she’ll crush his dreams of ever being her husband, once again.

A story full of suspense, danger, and humor thrown in to round it all out. When death takes away a father and husband and grief sets in, Hannah thought her happiness was over. But little did she know going to take care of her favorite aunt that broke her leg would change her life forever. A great book that will keep you turning the pages.
I have enjoyed this series of books. Hannah and Colt are familiar characters since we met them in previous books. I always look forward to books by Marie Higgins because I know she will have interesting story lines and strong characters. In addition this book contains humor, danger and romance. I can recommend this book.
I really loved this story. The characters were very relatable and drew me into the book. I found myself rooting for Colt and his heart. The action was great, can’t go without gunslingers in the old west! I felt as if I were watching a John Wayn movie in my head! I love Marie Higgins books and was not disappointed.
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
The well written suspense, plot twists, misunderstandings and evil people trying to derail our characters continues to the end. My free opinion. Thanks.
Wonderful story with twists and turns which include memory loss, kidnapping, evil men, romance, passion and cunning. The weapon used to capture the evil men is epic. Edge of your seat reading, I couldn’t put it down.
I really enjoyed this book. Of course I love Marie Higgins writing, every book I’ve read!! This one has twists & turns to the story. Has funny parts & a guaranteed HEA. It’s a fast read too which I also appreciate. You won’t be disappointed in reading this book. I received an ARC of this book. This is my voluntary, honest opinion.
Big Springs, Texas 1886 Hannah Hamilton was so excited to be arriving by the train to see her Aunt Ethal! When she heard her aunt had broken her leg and needed someone to care for her, she jumped at the chance. Leaving her two girls with her sisters she felt she could spend the six weeks needed. Little did she know, her life was about to change.
Trying to find a wagon to hire to get her to her aunt’s house, the was robbed and knocked over the head. But when she woke up she could not remember her name or any other information! The people who rescued her told her she was Anna, who had been on her way to take a job from them working at their hotel.
Marshall Colt Montgomery was in town on the trail of an outlaw that had been robbing banks and taking money from people after he had knocked them out. When he finds out that Anna/Hannah is the young lady last hurt, he cannot believe it! He had just left her several months ago after declaring his feelings for her, which she only wanted to be friends. Heartbroken he had hit the trail.
But fate brings them together and as they spend time with each other, he can only hope once she regains her memory, she might feel different about him! A sweet romance that holds all the ingredients to make you sigh and smile as you turn the last page!
