Levi Emerson and his partner, Clyde Forester, have been undercover for over a year chasing the ring leader of the largest cattle rustling group. After months of pursuit, they are closing in on their target, and looking forward to bagging their bounty. A paid informant has told them the rustler’s next target will be the Larsen Ranch in Rockwood Springs, Texas. When Levi arrives at the ranch, he … poses as a cowboy in order to gain employment at the ranch and catch the cattle thief.

Though she wants to do her father’s biding, the rumors of how Andy mistreated his first wife leaves Abigail worried about her future, especially knowing he isn’t the type of man that would find her new mindset appealing.
When Levi and Abigail accidently encounter each other, the connection is instant, but they both know a relationship between them can never be due to their circumstances. Yet, as the couple continue to spend time together through various circumstances, the connection only deepens.

Find out if these two star-crossed lovers can find a way to be together in this epic 1880s historical romance.

WHERE TWO UNLIKELY SOULS CHOSE TO BECOME ONE.
I enjoyed this story that is part of a new series, A Texas Lawkeeper Romance, by a group of talented authors. Each story in the series will read as a stand-alone and can be read in any order. The stories will all feature law enforcement heroes and the women who love them. The stories are sweet, clean based stories where the lawman finds his woman. Each will read as a stand-alone book.
Levi Emerson, along with Clyde Forrester, were partners and bounty hunters searching to capture a high stakes bounty. Morris Jeffers and a group of men who traveled with him, are rustling cattle and has a group of ranchers offering rewards. The plan was for Clyde to work as a barkeep in the saloon and Levi to be hired on one of the biggest ranches, to try and uncover who inside was working with Jeffers.
Abigail Larsen has been in Boston for the past three years, since the death of her mother, at a ladies finishing school. Her father has called her home, and she will learn that he has big plans for her, a contract arranged marriage to the neighboring rancher, Andy Wilson. It is a man she loathes and has heard nasty rumors about the untimely death of his wife, plus he has a nasty and violent temper.
The plot will have Levi being hired at the Larsen ranch as a cowhand to try and determine who is the inside man with Jeffers. What he wasn’t expecting was a friendship with Abigail Larsen. Together, they both discover each is a Christian and loves the Lord, something that his partner and her family have nothing to do with. It will become a tie that binds their friendship.
Abigail has become a pawn for her father to increase his holdings by forcing her into a marriage she doesn’t want. He is a cruel man who has no respect for his own daughter, her feelings, or wishes. Abigail wants a marriage with a man who will respect her, respect her opinion and also a Godly man who loves and serves the Lord.
“I’m sorry your father doesn’t see you for who you are. A magnificently strong and insightful woman, equal to any man, and the most wonderful person I’ve ever met.”
An injury with a bull will have Levi incapacitated for several days, and housed in the Emerson household, against Bradford Larsen’s wishes. It will give Abigail and Levi more time to talk and share the Bible and their love for God. They will attend church together, and he will become acquainted with her friends. One the cattle drive, he will discover the traitor, but not before a good man is killed. When the truth comes out, he will be shunned from the Larsen ranch, but what Abigail? Can she forgive him for not telling her that he is a bounty hunter?
What will happen when Abigail overhears a conversation that implicates more people in the cattle rustling? Will her father believe her or is he so blind to the truth? When she takes Billy’s orphaned daughter to town, how will she make way for the two of them?
The story shows that God always has a plan and makes way for his children. Bad things can happen to good people, but Christianity is about faith and trust. In the end, two people find a chance for happiness. This is a clean historical western with strong Christian principles without being preachy.
Levi wants this to be his last bounty job. He is ready to settle down. Abigail struggles with her father’s wishes to marry her to a neighbor to increase the father’s wealth. But he is a bad man. Eli helps her with the problem. This is a very good story I enjoyed very much.
Abigail is forced to marry her neighbor so her father will gain more possessions and power. But she is attracted to Levi one of her father’s ranch hands. But Levi was not just a ranch hand but undercover to catch an outlaw. Can Abigail convince her dad and how will her reaction be when she discovers why Levi wasn’t honest to her?
Again a fun entertaining Christian story in this series. Loved it.
Following Her Heart
An ex-soldier turned bounty hunter has accepted Jesus as his savior and vows this will be his last quest after a wanted man. The daughter of a cattle baron, sent east to finishing school when her mother died, returns home with notions of women’s suffrage. This delightful tale has a plot worthy of Louis L’Amour and continues the saga of Rockwood Springs, Texas, but easily stands alone as its own complete story.
Lawfully Wanted is a sweet, well-written western romance. The plot is exciting with some twists and turns. The story moves quickly. I liked the main characters, which were well developed. There is an HEA. I plan to read more of Jenna Brandt’s work. I would recommend this to sweet romance readers and Christian romance readers.
This was a charming love story. I loved the development of the characters. Levi had become a Christian and he lived out his faith. I loved how he showed the love of Christ in the way he lived. Abigail was a strong independent woman that came home to an arranged marriage to a abusive man. I loved her determination to follow God’s will for her life. She tried so hard to respect her father, but it was hard when her father does not have a relationship with Christ. I enjoyed the progression of the story. The action kept me reading; I couldn’t put it down. I recommend this to anyone that loves sweet romance with elements of faith.
Lawfully Wanted by Jenna Brandt is another great story in the Law-keeper series. Abigail has recently returned home to discover that her father has arranged a marriage for her. The man her father has chosen has been rumored to have a violent temper and some say that he was responsible for his first wife’s death. Levi is a bounty hunter who, undercover, obtains employment at the ranch owned by Abigail’s father. Levi and his partner are trying to uncover a cattle rustling gang at the ranch.
The way Abigail and Levi meet is well written and I enjoyed their interaction throughout the book. Abigail does not want to marry a man that her father wants so that he can expand his ranch. Her father has no sympathy for Abigail’s feelings.
Can she find happiness? Will she have to enter into an arranged marriage or will she find love?
The plot and the characters are well developed. I really enjoyed reading this story. It was given to me as a gift and I always review every book that I read. I highly recommend this clean, sweet story.
What a great story by Jenna Brandt which is part of the Lawkeepers series. Abigail Larsen has just returned home to her father’s ranch after completing finishing school. Unfortunately her father has planned for her to marry Andy, a local rancher and recent widower, rumored to have a bad temper and possibly responsible for his wife’s death.. Levi Emerson has come to town chasing some outlaws who have been rustling cattle. But he is undercover and is employed at her ranch by Abigail’s father. As fate would have it, Abigail and Levi run into other other on her ranch and begin to have a strong attraction. Can the two find love together once his true identity comes out? A lovely story of overcoming barriers and finding love when least expected.
Good clean book, very entertaining story. Strong H/h who were true to their held beliefs. They helped others giving to others even if it cost them. I truly liked the H/h. Truly would recommend this book to anyone who likes historic romance.
Clean Western Heritage Romance
This is part of the multi-author Lawkeeper series. Set in 1880’s Texas, our heroine is the daughter of a cattle baron and our hero is a young bounty hunter. This is a clean and warm romance and a good western. The cattle rustling plot is well executed. The romance is wonderful and tender. This is a well written story with elements of faith and good character development. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest review.
A wonderful story that pulled me in right away! This multi author series is one I definitely recommend!
