Lawfully Heroic- A Military Police Lawkeeper Romance (Disaster City Search and Rescue Prequel)“ by Jenna Brandt is a tale of one Adam Reynolds who earned a solid reputation as a K9 handler for the Army. He and his partner, Valor in explosive detections …soo when an opening occurred at the Disaster City Search and Rescue facility in Texas …for additional civilian training …he signed up. He never thought he would be attracted to one of the facilities instructors. Clara Burnette was a decorated K9 instructor at Disaster City Search and Rescue and to her surprise one of the new recruits …an Officer Reynolds…caught her eye. But they are both professionals…and each is dedicated to their careers …he at an Army base in Colorado and her at the elite DSCR training facility….in Texas. What will they choose to do once the intensive one month long training course is completed?!? Will they find a HEA?!? Read and see. Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book.
Loved this book!! Adam and Valor are exceptional heroes! Love that Adam knew he wanted a relationship with Clara, and was willing to work at it. Took Clara longer to decide she needed to not be afraid. Once she made the decision, she worked to get something that would bring her and Adam together. Love that Adam was praying for God to show him what He wanted for Adam, too!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to write a review, and the opinion expressed is totally my own.
How do you honor your comrades who did not survive the bomb? Do you press your luck and return to the war zone or do you train others in something that you have become very good at?
Great book by a great author.
A good short search and rescue romance story and their K9 dogs. This engaging read had me engrossed from start to finish. A wonderful well written story to remind you sometimes theirs different answers to accomplish your desires. Their is hardship, struggles, dedication, love, and some angst with undeniable attraction and chemistry. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
Clean, short story about Adam getting further K-9 training for detecting explosive devices. There is romance that developes with his trainer Clara.
Excellent entry into the world of the DISASTER CITY series. A good sensitive view of PTSD and its effects on life. A very interesting presentation of the world of the K9 handlers and their canine partners. And of course the romance is sweet and compelling
Oh my, what is there not to love about this book besides that it is the last of this series? A handsome, strong hero, a beautiful intelligent heroine and dogs, are all in this book. I loved how Adam and Clara tried to ignore their attraction to each other. This is a excellent start to the new series. I can’t wait to read more about Disaster City Search and Rescue and the men and women who take this wonderful training.
A sweet, emotional story of Adam Reynolds, a K-9 handler and his partner Valor. Having served and searched out bombs with his K-9, Adam has been through a lot emotionally and feels the effects. But he is offered a chance for more training at the Disaster City Search and Rescue facility.
Clara Burnette is the instructor and she and Adam form an attraction that cannot be denied not matter how much Clara tries to fight it.
Jenna Brandt writes the most heartwarming stories that always warm my heart. Knowing there are men, women and beloved dogs that are in the line of fire is heart wrentching in itself. But this shows their sacrafices and how they deserve a happy ever after.
I thoroughly enjoyed Lawfully Heroic. The men and women who work Search and Rescue are so brave and dedicated. I am glad there will be more books about these brave servants. Adam and Clara are both dedicated to the profession but love does not always wait for our timetable. The characters are personable. The well written book is believable and captured my interest on page one. I highly recommend this is a sweet, clean romance.
ONE EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE!!!
Excellent! Jenna showcases one spectacular spin that’s so touching and heartwarming with passion, finesse and style that blows this baby wide open. A churning vortex of vexing circumstances and astonishing events blast those spinning emotions into play front and center. The tension is thick, suspense electrifying, the intrigue skyrocketing. Blundering through the trials and tribulations, stunning twists, sharp turns and thin lines, test our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. Doling out incredibly, well rounded scenario’s, that punch dead center with such exuberance and style, grounding in it’s strength and awe inspiring in it’s depth. The characters fortitude to persevere is astounding. Following along, witnessing their personalities blend and flow with such love and devotion was a beautiful thing to behold. The characters are authentic, original and realistic with such depth and qualities it’s easy to relate. The scenes are so descriptive and detailed it’s easy to picture each interaction as they play off one another perfectly. Remarkable job Jenna, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

I admire K-9 search and rescue dogs and their handlers so much! My brother-in-law works with K-9s and I’ve seen the bond between dog and handler. It’s something so strong. These dogs are amazing in what they can accomplish! This story was really close to my heart because of that. I’ve seen it up close & personal. Adam wants to be the best of the best because of his experiences in the Army. Clara teaches at an elite training center for K-9 search and rescue and has to be a little bit better than all the other trainers because she’s the only woman. Although it is frowned upon, Adam and Clara just can’t help being attracted to each other but they don’t let it get in the way of Adam’s training. He puts in all he has to be the best. I felt the author did a good job with describing how training in search and rescue or other ways K-9 are used. It was very interesting! Also, we see the PTSD that Adam experiences on occasion which is very real with veterans. I loved the characters and the story!
This was a quick read. Nice sweet romance and great subject. Search and rescue is fascinating to me and I love the K9 unit. Ms. Brandt always does a wonderful job of drawing you in quickly.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I loved this book. It was the story of Adam and Clara. I was afraid the story would be to military like, but it wasn’t. It was the story of dedicated people training to make this a better world. It was personal and entertaining. I found it hard to stop reading.
