Enjoyable sweet read. I enjoy reading Lawfully Guarded by Elle Kay. She added a new lawkeeper to the series, A Bodyguard. It was a clean Sweet read with a twist. I recommend to anyone that loves clean stories.
Lawfully Guarded by Elle E. Kay is a Sweet Christian Romance. I loved Trenton’s character, especially his desire to live out his faith and honor God. Delaney on the other hand took me a bit to warm up to, but I guess that means the author did a good job at writing a self-centered billionaire’s daughter. Still, I really enjoyed her growth throughout the book and found it believable. Also, though I could see where most of the plot was heading, there was still a twist that took me by surprise.
The narrator was really good at bringing the characters to life, as well as portray their emotions (from angered/worried to husky/seductive tones of voice). However, it took me a bit to get used to Trent’s tone of voice, so, future listeners, please listen to the sample to see if this would be a good match for you. Also, I don’t know if it was due to the speed at which I was listening, but I think the narration could have benefited if the pauses between scenes could have been made longer (and/or if the chapters hadn’t been so long).
Overall, and the mentioned issues notwithstanding, I did enjoy listening to this audiobook. ~ 4.5 stars and recommended 🙂
This book was given to me for free at my request. I provided this unbiased review voluntarily.
I enjoyed this book very much because it has love, intrigue, & betrayal. It is a very well written story.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
A kidnapping brought them together, but she’s a party girl and he’s dedicated himself to God. Can they work it out? Well narrated by Kimberly Tisor, pulling you through the twists and turns and surprise ending.
A inspirational story full of suspense and romance about a Christian bodyguard sent to protect a billionaire’s daughter after her sister is taken. Delaney is known for parting hard and a lifestyle that screams anything but Christian. She starts hitting on Trenton as soon as they are introduced. He has to set boundaries about her actions and place trackers on the vehicles and her phone. He allows her to think she has slipped out the first night before she finds he has came to bring her back from the bar with backup and little gets by him. When she tries to tell him she is a Christian he tells her there is a big difference in what she considers Christianity. But a heart is more open to learning when something bad happens, and that is when she is willing to allow Trenton to teach her how to be a true Christian out of the Bible. She makes Trenton a deal to split her inheritance if he will marry her and they only have to stay married a year before they can get divorced. When Trenton agreed Delaney thinks it is going to be fun till he gives her the guidelines. And the reason he gives her daddy for getting married is an unusual one. But the return of her sister is not the end of their trouble, and spite almost always proves to be a very bad thing.
I’ve read several of Elle E. Kay’s books, so I was thrilled to see she had a new one out. A shorter read than her previous books, Lawfully Guarded provides a quick, enjoyable read. (I was able to finish it in one sitting.) When I started the story, I was unaware it was a novella, so was surprised the attraction occurred so quickly, however, the characters are well-developed. Trenton is a swoon-worthy hero, full of integrity and maturity. Delaney is rich and self-absorbed, but not so bratty as to be unlikable. She’s a bit of a pistol, and tries to slip away on several occasions but Trent has seen her type before and is up to the challenge of keeping her safe. The dialogue is clever, and I enjoyed Trent’s friendship with his boss. Another winner by Ms. Kay and highly recommended.
What a fantastic read! I loved the characters, famous and spoiled glamorous debutant with a Godly sweet natured bodyguard. I loved the witty banter between the two. I was pulled into the story from the first page, I couldn’t wait to see where this went. I was not disappointed, this story has romance, mystery and God’s salvation. This is one book that will keep you smiling.
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
I was quickly pulled into the story. My favorite genre is clean romantic suspense, so Lawfully Guarded is perfect for me. Trenton, a godly man who is great at his job, is a very likable character from the start to the finish. Delaney had some growing up to do still (which she does.) The plot moves very quickly. I enjoyed the mystery aspect of it as well. Lawfully Guarded delivers that HEA that all we romance readers want. I would have preferred the book to be fleshed out more; it’s short. It’s a great deal at 99 cents though. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
This is a very well written book that holds your attention from beginning until the end. It has suspense, mystery and romance and keeps you guessing until the end. I really enjoyed every minute of this book.
What’s a bodyguard to do when the woman he’s guarding wants to marry him????!!!! Trent doesn’t quite know what to do with that scenario! He’s never come across that in his years of being a bodyguard but he also hasn’t felt like this toward anyone he’s guarded either! But, he’s a strong Christian and he doesn’t take these things lightly! Trent and Delaney are great characters! Delaney’s sister is kidnapped so her father hires Trent’s company to guard Delaney until the kidnapper is found. Delaney doesn’t like that at all, it cramps her style. She is quite rebellious! Of course that gets her into trouble. I enjoyed this story and how she and Trent finally get together. I know others will too – I recommend it!
They say opposites attract. In this story they certainly do. Delaney is ss spoiled rich girl flitting and flirting from one part to another. Trent is hired as her bodyguard. She teases him relentlessly but his promise to God has his guard up. Once he starts to see the vulnerable Delaney, he starts to care for her. When she asks him to marry her so she can get her inheritance he is shocked. But he goes along to keep her safe. But before it can be a real marriage love has to be part of the equation. Amongst danger will they admit their real feelings to each other. I received a complimentary copy and I am giving a review voluntarily.
