Take Love and Law Seriously…U.S. Marshal Lucas Graham had been assigned to look into the deaths of several gold miners in Havilah, California. Though the job is routine, delivering the news to the murder victim’s proxy bride that her husband is dead is not. Neither is the growing attraction he feels for her as he tries to find out the truth of what happened to her husband.Sadie Steele is … husband.
Sadie Steele is running from the law straight into the arms of her childhood best friend, Sam Clayton. The only problem, when she arrives to start her new life with him, a Marshal informs her that he’s been murdered. With nothing to return to, Sadie stays to run her husband’s claim while she waits for the Marshal to avenge her husband’s death.
Will Lucas figure out what’s really going on in time to protect Sadie? Can Sadie find a way to make room in heart for a lawman? And what will happen when danger from the past and present collide?

Lawfully Avenged is an exciting entry in The Lawkeepers series. I was drawn into the story from the beginning. It is short, but the characters are vividly portrayed. The story is well written. This is a clean, inspiring, historical romance.
I didn’t want to put this wonderful book down!
Sadie is a head-strong determined woman wanting to run her dead husband’s gold mine. The marshall is equally determined to protect her. I enjoyed this book very much.
Sadie and Lucas have a wonderful story in this Lawkeeper book. Sadie is on the run from the East coast to the West coast but promised to a childhood friend only to find he’s been murdered when she arrives in town! Not knowing what she will do, she decides to work his gold claim, although she doesn’t know anything about that! Marshall Lucas Graham is the one who had to tell Sadie about her husband’s murder and he decides he needs to watch over her afterwards since this is a fairly lawless territory. I enjoyed seeing the two of them get together as they battle heartache, solving the murder of Sadie’s husband and the lawless town. It’s a wonderful read!
Thou Shalt Not Covet!
A sweet little romance, a murder mystery, and strong faith.
This was a fun story filled with adventure, danger and intrigue. I enjoyed the tenacity of Sadie as she crosses the country to get to her by-proxy-husband. She has a strength of character that was very attractive and aggravating to Lucas. Lucas was a lawman that just wanted to do right by Sadie, especially when she gets the bad news. Their tender romance blossoms throughout the story. I enjoyed watching it grow. Together they had to face a lot of dangers. I recommend this book to anyone that loves old west clean romance.
This story has great characters and plenty of adventure and romance to keep you interested. Very good sweet, Western Romance.
I love this series. Ms. Brandt has a way of putting a lot of punch into a novella. This one has the dangers of being a woman with a gold claim and the men who try to take advantage. The Marshall is a very dependable man who keeps her safe and love just can’t be stopped.
Another great addition to the Lawkeepers series and this time by the amazing Jenna Brandt! Sadie, A proxy bride on the run, finds out her husband Sam has been murdered once she arrives in California. She decides to stay and her attraction to the Marshall who is trying to find out who killed Sam seems to grow.
A story filled with suspense, a lot of emotion and two people who are destined to be together. Loved this story and can only recommend this any all the books in the series and all by this author. You will be enthralled by all the wonderful stories!
Enjoyed reading this book! While investigating deaths of gold miners, he develops feelings for the mail-order bride to be, of one of them. I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance books!
ONE EXCITING ADVENTURE!!!
WOW! Jenna skillfully laid out all the dynamics that blows this baby wide open. Combating all the trials and tribulations trying to stay one step a head and losing ground. Perilous drama, adversity, intrigue and electrifying suspense take you on one thrilling adventure. One refreshing spin with an exhilarating storyline and gripping plot that propels this bad boy to life flawlessly. Twists and turns abound with vexing circumstances and a slew of inadvertent surprises that thrust all of your emotions bursting into play front and center. The characters are authentic, relatable and realistic with such depth and individuality it feels as if you can just reach out and touch them. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive it’s easy to picture each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Awesome job Jenna, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
As always another great book by Jenna Brandt. I enjoyed the characters especially Lucas the handsome protective Marshall. I felt sorry for Sadie because it seemed everything kept coming down on her. A great read with romance, brawls and a bad guy. If you like stories from the old west this book is for you, reminds me of Gun Smoke!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
I am a huge fan of this series and this author. I have read several of her books and they seem to get better and better with each release. I love sweet romances. I love the wild west. Mix the two together and you have a great story. The author always writes real feeling characters. She always writes intriguing story lines. I loved the story of Sadie and Lucas.
I received a copy of this book through the author – all thoughts are my own.

This is a fantastic read. Sadie is running from the law, to her childhood
boyfriend Sam. Lucas is the. U.S. Marshall that informs her that Sam is dead. But Sam wasn’t able to get his claim so Sadie has to claim it. This is a fantastic read that grabbed me right away. I also love the genre this read is it. This read is a real page turner. I could not put the book down. The Story is fantastic and the Characters are brought out great. This is definitely a must read.
Shauna Joesten
A great addition to the series.
Another great addition to Law Keepers series I have enjoyed each and everyone I have read. I will admit I like the historical ones the best there is just something about that old west sheriff. This quick read we’ll take back to the time when gold fever was alive and well in California and the realistic view of life for a woman alone. It was a beautiful love story Ms. Brandt has a winner on her hands. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Lawfully Avenged is a good addition to the US Marshal Lawkeepers series. It’s a quick read, but Jenna Brandt writes in such a way that I connect with her characters. Sadie and Lucas are both likable and believable characters. They are attracted to each other but feel like they shouldn’t be as Sadie is a recent widow. What Lucas doesn’t know is that although Sadie knew Sam, her deceased husband, there was a proxy wedding before she left to join him. The plot has some twists and is fast-paced. There’s a great deal of action and a wonderful HEA. I would recommend this to readers of clean/wholesome romance and to western romance readers. I obtained my copy through KU.
This is wonderful story that will hook you on the first page. It has action, suspense, drama and romance. If you like clean historical romance, you will love this book.
Sweet Love Story
This beautiful, sweet love story is about Sadie and Marshal Graham.
Sadie is on the run after being falsely accused of stealing money from her employer. She marries an old friend by proxy and arrives in the town where he has a gold digging operation only to find that he has been killed.
She meets up with Marshal Graham who is investigating the crime and the story evolves and soon ends in a happily-ever-after.
Jenna Brandt is able to spin an enjoyable tale which captivates and entertains one at the same time.
I loved the characters in this book as one can clearly see what they are going through and how they feel.
This story also shows the faith the characters have for each other and that truth will always win in the end. This one was particularly easy to read, follow and enjoy and so I am happy to recommend it.
I read an Advance Readers Copy (ARC) and my unbiased review above is given voluntarily.
