“It’s the fight, isn’t it? The struggle. The idea that I’ll pin you down and take what I want…” He smiled, slow and dangerous. Watching me struggle to deny him. Watching me fail…Bound to a man I hate, I’m trapped. All that I was is gone. Taken. Stripped away, only to feed the beast who dares to call himself my equal, while having the gall to leave me helpless to his whims. Who offers … the gall to leave me helpless to his whims. Who offers protection in place of my Goddess-given power.
Protection I didn’t need before him.
Captain Asher Rawlings is a man apart. Relentless. Driven to take and possess.
And he’s winning.

I’m writing this review while I’m hurtling on an Amtrak train through the Midwestern countryside. It’s the Southwest Chief – the long-haul daily train trawling the Chicago to Los Angeles route.
And I’m heating up as I reread my favorite passages in Lavish Destruction, I’m afraid of leaking through the seat. It WAS THAT PASSIONATE! With Myra Danvers’ writing, you always expect the unexpected, and she didn’t fail to surprise me in this third installment of the Last Tritan series.
I had a vague memory of how The Last Tritan’s plot was laid out in Lit but Myra rewrote some key passages and streamlined the story to make the plot easier to follow. I would always love her writing and will continue to buy the latter issues of TLT series.
Don’t be bored by normie heroines with flirty eyes and drab storylines. If you read Myra Danvers’ books, you’ll be plunged into a dark hole of fantasy romance populated by unforgettable characters and you may never have the same taste in reading materials again.
I can’t say how much I love this author and series! The characters are unlike anything I have found anywhere else. Crazy, broken, and so realistic they jump from the page and invade your mind.
This is book three and they (finally) get to the dirty parts so it’s definitely been a slow burn but the build up made it that much better. Each story has been so unexpected you will never expect what happens next! Definitely recommend reading!
yes!! finally got to the part where asher and mila no longer deny themselves one another! not to sound like a perv but its been a suspense building up that finally bore its fruit haha. so much plots and things to worry about but the book ended in perfection where i dont think its considered a bad cliffhanger. cant help but wonder what was going on between the high priestess and alicia as im sure she knew the meaning behind the contents of that box. sorry for that bit of spoiler.
Must read if youve read books one and two. So much passion and action with this third installment. i was literally glued page after page
I love this story so much. This is not a standalone. this is the 3rd book in a series and there is more to come. You will not regret reading this whole series they are all good. The world that the author has created is well described and really ropes you in to know what is gonna happen next.
As always, this book sucked me in. I just love Myra’s storytelling, her chaotic main characters, and the fact she always leaves us wanting more.
In this book we start to see Asher and Mila’s relationship deepen. They are forced to rely on each other a bit but given our feisty heroin it isn’t exactly that simple.
Cannot wait to see where the next book takes us!
This is the 3rd installment of The Last of the Tritans books, and it doesnt disappoint. Although Mila has been at the brink of death, her enemies cannot break her or kill her. She and Asher realize they have a link that ties them together closer than they would imagine. Our main characters find a common enemy that will challenge them to breaking point. Yet, Mila wont let Asher, their link or any Caledonian subdue her she will keep fighting and go down on the war path. Cant wait to see how Mila keeps fighting for the future of the Tritans.
I cant get enough of this series. Each book is better than the one before. Mila and Asher are great characters. The secondary characters are super interesting too. That gives the books so much depth. This 3rd installment is sexy, violent and will have you biting your nails. Cant wait for the next one!!!
Lavish Destruction is the latest installment in The Last Tritan series. Myra Danvers really delivered with this book. All of Mila’s hotheadedness and impulsivity comes to a head in this novel. At the end of book two,Insatiable Corruption, Mila has disregarded Asher’s orders once again but this time she does so in front of General Tilcot. Her actions cause both Mila and Asher to be placed in front of General Tilcot’s cross-hairs. Lavish Destruction details everything that happens once Tilcot becomes entirely focused on the couple. Tilcot has so many questions about Asher and Mila and the nature of their relationship.
There are some hot and steamy scenes that are sooooo worth all the sexual tension of the last two books. The character development is good. Mila really works my nerves!! i wanted to throw the book!!! Mila keeps sabotaging herself. Asher seems so sweet on Mila you almost forgive him for being part of a culture that has slaves.
The ending was very satisfying and worth all the frustration Mila and Asher put me through. Overall this was a great series. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
Loved this book can’t wait to read more
Lavish destruction was an intense continuation of the story Myra Danvers began in Ravenous Innocence and Insatiable Corruption. The development of the relationship between Asher and Mila is amazing to watch, and it’s amusing to see how the exchange of control seems to move back and forth, an intense sort of cat and mouse exchange. The build up towards that ephemeral prophesy is now showing though, and I can’t wait to see where this all goes.
What really strikes me is the nuance and depth this story has, the world building so complete and epic it sweeps a reader away. There is so much more going on in these books then simple eroticism. The original world, it’s mix of technology and fantasy, the complex characters… it makes for a very intense experience for readers. I look forward to seeing what else the talented Ms. Danvers does in the future.
Just Wow! These characters keep getting better and better. And smarter and snarkier!! It’s so easy to get super sucked into these books. Right from the first page you get tossed straight into the fray!!! Asher and Mila are at each other’s throats within pages, and it goes down and down into the rabbit hole from there! [Insert Myra’s maniacal laugh here]
I can’t get enough of this series; I simultaneously want to hurry up and read the rest, but also don’t want it to ever end! Please keep writing! <3
In this continuation of the Tritan series, we can see the consequences of Mila’s actions in book 2. The plot is very well laid out, with some very surprising twists and turns in the story. Myra has done a great job of taking a Captain we may have been on the fence about, and turned him into a hottie who seems to care much more than the reader may have believed. The ending of the book was perfect, a great conclusion to the story but a hell of a cliffy that leaves you begging for more!
I did absolutely nothing this week except re-read this book, previous books, and obsess over this series and imagine multiple universes. It’s an absolute joy in terms of escapism and lurid thoughts. I could not be any happier for Mila and Asher and the natural progression of events. Hats off to this new author who seems to be writing everything in such a perfectly tantalizing manner. I’m starting to notice a trend with this writer’s preferences for strong female leads, and it’s ticking all the boxes to the road of paradise and satisfaction. True to the genre, the pages all but turn themselves in this action packed story.
Asher and Mila’s “relationship” is still adversarial even though they are bound to each other. The chemistry is intense and the feelings cover many specrums and many depths. This is an emotional rollercoaster, with changes to both Mila and Asher, though I think Mila grows more. Trust is a work in progress and it be interesting to see where this bumpy road leads…..them and us.
In the third book in the story of Mila and Asher the two main characters’ relationship is getting closer and more complicated, as they are forced to become uneasy allies, in their mutual quest to keep Mila´s true nature hidden from the villanous general Tilcott and all of Asher´s countrymen in general. The world building and the character development are both phenomenal (as usual for this extremely talented author), and I can´t wait to see what happens next in this series. I highly recommend this book!
I’m actually a bit upset with Mila at the moment.
If you haven’t read the previous books in this series you need to stop and go back. Truly nothing will make sense if you dive into the madness now.
Destruction picks up right after the explosive end of book two (see what I did there).
Mila again has acted without thinking. The girl is like a damn tide – one minute she is seeming to mature and think before acting. The next? She is tugging at the edges of sanity and drowning everyone in her stupidity! You might say I am a bit upset with her in this episode.
Deep breath aaaaand moving forward.
Asher has always had me wavering when it came to interpreting my feelings toward his character. He seems so cold and callous some times. As each episode progresses it becomes apparent there is a hidden agenda behind his behavior. And I have to ask myself which side is he truly on? After the little bomb that is dropped here in Lavish, I am even more torn. Is it all for power? Is he playing everyone? What am I missing?
As this came to a close I have to say I currently like him more than Mira and I think (I say that very tentatively) I understand his long term intentions. I am worried about how the betrayal will affect him. How he will respond and if he will retaliate.
So many truths were revealed in this episode. Though I now think I have more questions than when I started.
A lot of secrets are still just that -Secrets – I am not sure who I trust.
Deep cutting betrayals are prominent- still not sure here about a certain someone, actually leading more to traitor status.
Selfish sacrifices were made – Wait for it and you will understand what I think happened – though at this point I could be wrong.
I have devoured each new episode of this series with such hunger only to find at the end I am nowhere close to being sated. I want closure but I don’t want the series to end.
I really enjoyed the first 2 books in the series so I had high expectations for this one, and it did not disappoint!
Mila is a survivor and she adapts to her situation. She’s stubborn and she has flaws, but it makes her so real and relatable. I wanted to climb into the book and be her friend!
Asher – hot damn! I find it hard to hate him even though he’s supposed to be the “villain”, so that just shows how much he’s gotten into my head. You can tell that deep down underneath it all, he probably does have a heart, so I’m interested to see where Myra takes his character. I won’t spoil the ending, but he got what was coming for him for picking a reckless woman who gave him nothing but trouble (and that’s the fun of reading this book!).
I’m now officially emotionally invested in this series, both because of the world that was created and the characters. I’m hoping the next book comes soon because I need to know what happens next!
Well Myra has once again drawn us into the world of Tritan, and this time for good! When last we left our intrepid heroine, she had been captured by the Captain and forced into submission. In this episode, Mila and Captain Rawlings explore the depths of their unique situation. Mila, with the help of Sasha and Belle, comes to realize that she can rise above her present situation and succeed where all others have failed. Mila must willingly give up her freedom but in doing so she also gains her liberty. In the end, we are left at the beginning of (I hope) a long and wild adventure. I can’t wait to see where we go from here.
Loved this third book in the series! Highly recommend! I read it in one evening/night. Definitely kept my attention. Can’t wait for the next one in this series. The world building is fantastic and the characters are intriguing.
Ever get in a rut reading and dread picking up another book? Plots become predictable and you are just over dealing with predictable conflicts and endings that you see from a mile away (oftentimes before the conflict is even introduced or resolved)? I was there. Every book I have picked up lately has been a disappointment. Until I got to this one, the third installment in The Last Tritan series.
Words cannot aptly address how fast I burned through this book. Gobbled it up and slurped it right down. It picks up right where book 2 left off. And this book really dug into the characters and their journey/perspective. Myra subtly shifts the language as the story progresses and my goodness did it warm the cockles of my sweet, romantic heart.
The writing is superb. It flows and the plot opens like this long awaited bloom being coaxed by the moonlight. The dynamic between Asher and Mila is shifting. Mila is growing up (not really fast, but I can see the realism in her ineptitude because she is working from a place of ignorance and I honestly think, though impulsive, she is coming from a place of pure idealism) and the clashes with Asher are taking different tones. Asher has her in his possession and it’s opening up these tidbits of interactions that are less war-like and less conflict driven and more of a courtship.
I am on the edge of my seat for what Myra has stored for us in future installments.
I will say, for those readers who appreciate content or trigger warnings, there is a scene between a protagonist and an antagonist (not between Mila and Asher) that depicts sexual trauma / assault. It’s not usually a button for me, but this scene sucked me in so fast that I was physically sick to my stomach reading it. Kudos to Myra for writing it so well. But be warned if it’s a button for you.
