Let’s just say at the end of this book you won’t be able to pick your chin off the ground. The amount of omg’s that came out of my mouth, I wouldn’t be able to count them. I think I’ll be rocking in a corner for awhile from this one.
When an author can put you in a book hangover, they’ve done their job. C.L. Matthews does that with all her books, and this one is the best so far. I’m looking forward to the third book in the series, but until then, I think my chin will stay on floor. Job well done!
Lasts was everything and more I didn’t realize I was waiting for after Firsts. I loved Sy from when he was first introduced and I was curious to know more of his past. Lasts gave me that insight I wanted and it made me love Sy so much more while tugging at my heartstrings along the way. The character development throughout this book pulled me so much further into this story and left me a bit torn about how I hope things play out in the end. All the angst, suspense and push and pull between Leia, Brax, and Sy kept me riveted to my Kindle and wanting so much more. By the end my mind was left reeling and now I’m eagerly waiting to see what happens next. If you’re in the mood for a steamy read with tons of angst and emotions then Lasts is a definite must read!
This book is the second in the trilogy, last’s left off where firsts ended. I really love this book, in this book we get to find out more of the background of Sy, Dante and Xo. Also we learn more about the relationship of Dante’s twin siblings. Well what kind I say I love Brax he’s so heartbroken with everything that has happened with Leia. We see more about his feelings and why he’s so obsessed with Leia. This book is taboo and soo hot scorching hot some pages melting my kindle. Damn the sandwich I wanted to be part of it. I can’t wait to read the part three I need more of Sy, Leia and Brax love triangle.
I love how this author writes forbidden romance. She brings on the feels (angsty af), writes characters that make you all hot and bothered, and make you want to drink. I hope you have some good tequila near by. Oh the author also takes love triangle to a new level. I’m still #TeamSy but I can always get down for a little #TeamSandwich. Don’t tell nobody. Make sure you grab this amazing read. Also make sure you read Firsts before you jump straight into Lasts.

Now that we have that out of the way, you need this book. Omg, Firsts was amazing, but Lasts was jaw dropping, heart wrenching, what am I gonna do with my life now type of story. We get so much back story from the characters, specially from Sy. We get to understand a bit more and again we are left hanging to wait for Forevers..but you know what I will wait, because this just keeps getting better. This characters are getting Thanks more I complex and more twisty as it goes and the pain, omg!! The pain is just getting worst. Pick your side and see what happens. Silas, Leila, Brax they are all gonna have you asking for more.
I was lucky enough to beta read this story and I read it again, because I’m such a sucker for C.L Matthews words. She digs deep in my heart and soul. She makes you wanna choke her and kiss her at the same time and oh my God she knows how to write a HOT scene that will replay in your mind for days!!! An amazing continuation of this series that you don’t wanna miss.

I loved this book.
I think this book gives us some great insight into who Sy is. But this book broke my heart too on many levels.
CL Matthews is a fantastic, creative writing genius. She pulls us in and keeps us guessing.
I know there is another book and I can’t wait to read it.
I will give you no spoilers but if you haven’t read Firsts do it! A fantastic taboo read that will have you thanking your stars that Lasts is out.
A book that brings so much yet you’ll still crave more
Lasts is part 2 of a trilogy and I am glad there’s more to come. This book not only holds one story but 3.
A love so strong that drove these characters to be intertwined in their paths, we follow a story with glimpses of a past where I greedily took everything C.L Matthews shared with us. Truly this author has created something with more than a romance but a tale where the journey breaks all taboos.

I’ll be honest with you. I really don’t know how I feel about this book. It splits my heart and soul in two pieces. So I’m really not sure how I’m gonna write this review. Lasts is special in so many points. Mostly it’s confusing. My best guess is, that CL Matthews is a genius. She writes her characters so intense that you feel as confused as they do, on so many different levels.
“Sy is the reason my soul is weeping, and Brax is why my heart feels weighed down by a million trains.”
Don’t expect a lot of action of this book nor a thrilling ride. Expect to be mostly within the heads of the trio Brax, Leia and Silas. Expect to get a deep-dive into their souls, minds and thoughts. Expect to get some of Sila’s history. Expect to get all hot and bothered at one moment, only that shortly after the author can hit you with a bucket of cold water to get you back to reality.

Yes, the love you will experience within this book, might be – for normal social standards – fifty shades of wrong and forbidden. But who are we to judge? Love has no boundaries, only in our minds. So be open, dive into the minds of Sy, Leia and Brax and let your self get carried away by a love that’s so complicated, ugly and mixed up, that it’s already beautiful again.

CL Matthews delivered with Lasts a fantastic sequel to Firsts. It will twist your mind in so many ways, that at the end you’ll have no idea what you just read and leaves you no idea in what direction the story will continue.

I am unsure how to do this review because this book has left me conflicted I just don’t know how I feel. Most of all I feel confused I think is the best description maybe that’s what the author intended.
There wasn’t alot of action to be honest we get some answers regarding Sy’s past which kind of threw me for a loop. Of course Leia and Brax are included we seem to spend apor if tine in their heads and that’s not a bad thing I just wanted more action.
The characters are still as intense as ever which is one of the things I love about her writing. So while this book didn’t go as I expected I’m still hooked on the story.
Holy Cliff Hanger….
I am still sitting in stunned shock…. I am so emotionally torn by this book. I love both Si and Brax. Their characters are so different but so very much the same. Both have broken souls which Leia is drawn to. Leia seems to be on a roller coaster of feelings when it comes to how she wants to live her life. She is slowly breaking under the weight of everyone that expects something from her. Her mother expecting her to basically take care of her and herself, her absent father coming in and out of her life bringing danger with him, Si pushing and pulling her to him and then there is Brax. He is supposed to be her best friend, her everything. Now he has brought more pressure to the laundry list of people who seem to want something more from her.
We learn so much more interesting things about Si’s back story. His feud with Dante and the reason he is married to Xo. We see inside the mind of Brax, and his true feelings, and his childhood. But yet again we are left with a HUGE cliffy! I cannot wait for the next installment of the Cape Hill Series! I am literally dangling on the edge right now waiting!!
