Last Wish is a phenomenal beginning to a wildly unique paranormal thriller series. The Last Wish is an excellent introduction to a unique concept of the paranormal’s impact on the everyday world and to Dr. Linh and the other characters that make this book and subsequent ones in the series very compelling. The storyline has thriller components and has mystery, intrigue, suspense, and action that manifests in a way that you will find in no other book. M.D. Thomas developed characters that are realistic and believable, and a story and character concepts that while unique, are also believable, realistic, and unpredictable. The next story in the series, Fool Wish, is very much anticipated!
I received a free copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book is wonderful. The writing, the plot, the pacing, and the characters are all top-notch. A total treat, from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book.
This is a change from my usual genre and didn’t really know what to expect.
The story starts with a clear indication that this is gone to be fast paced.
I certainly did not expect what was going to happen, suspense in bucket loads.
A very good cast of characters make the plot into a, who can help me, who can I trust.
Even the parts of the book that involve the tube train and station are all very well explained and you can easily imagine what is happening, in fact, even see it through Elizabeth’s eyes.
My first read from this author and definitely not my last.
I will also state that I didn’t want to put it down as it was so good and exciting so I ended up reading late into the night.
I received this book as part of ARC and decided to give a review.
I’m not quite sure how to classify this riveting, hard hitting novel. It’s part psychodrama, part paranormal horror, part thriller and a story I won’t soon forget. It tells the story of an Emergency Room doctor with the gift/curse of being able to communicate with those patients who die while she is touching them. When a 14 year old traffic accident victim is brought in to the ER, Linh little expects the changes she will bring about in the good doctor’s life.
This one’s everything you want in a good ghost story, or hospital drama or edge of your seat thriller.
I heartily recommend it.
Linh Davies has the ability to possess the soul of anyone who dies while she is touching them. Not a good ability for an Emergency Room Doctor to have. She is trying to finish out her last 2 weeks of residency with just the 3 rather benign souls she has stuck in her head waiting for her to fulfill their last wish so they can move on. And then Elizabeth Bauer and her father come in, the victims of a bad car accident. I am not going to say anymore so as not to give anything away. I loved this book. The characters are all well developed and grow throughout the book good. Linh is strong and likeable. I was rooting for Connor, the hunk of an anesthesiologist who likes Linh. Dicky the attending’s name fits him well, at least at first. Her mother Lanh, is great! I could picture her so well. The plot is fast moving with a few surprises. The style of writing is extremely readable. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
This is a great beginning to the series. Linh Davis is a likable character. I connected with her from the first page. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I received an ARC for an objective review.

LAST WISH, not met.
In air, hangs unanswered.
Seeks place, to rest.
Work out, the solution.
Encumbers another, chaos begets.
Will it, ever end.
Must READ, all set?
This story, will shock.
