It’s not easy pretending to be dead – especially when it feels as if you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. Between an unfulfilled prophecy, the demon-occupied Lowlands, the continuing power of murderous Aifric Moncrieffe – not to mention her constant yearnings for Byron – Integrity Adair has a lot to worry about. Still, how hard can it really be to save Scotland, maintain her … her morals, get the guy and keep her sense of humour?
This is the fourth and final book in the Highland Magic series

Good ending to the series. Not my favorite series of work from Helen Harper, but fun to read nonetheless!! Bob is my absolute favorite and I wish I had my own mini-Bob. Characters and world were great, and there was opportunity for this to be more of the epic fantasy variety had she chosen to put in more detail and slowed down the pace.
OMG! No! That’s the two words that came out of my mouth at the end. Don’t take that the wrong way because this is a phenomenal series. I only said “OMG, NO” at the end because it was the end. I mean I want more and seriously what a way to end that tale. I will definitely be revisiting Scotland, Integrity, Byron and all the others many times. Helen, you have out done yourself. I can’t wait for your new series ‘The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic’. Fantastic, is my last word for this amazing series.
Last Wish by Helen Harper a five star wish of a book. This is the fourth and final book in the Highland Magic series, It’s the best book of the series in my eyes, even if it is the last. I am seriously thinking of writing a strongly worded email to Ms Harper though as she can’t leave us like this!! We need more, even if it’s just a novella, I am not above begging, if I have to!!
This book tells the story of Integrity Adair a joke telling (albeit terrible jokes), wish making, white haired, purple eyed hero chieftain, who is supposed to be dead, and has been hiding out on Adair land, getting it back to its glory. Integrity knows that if she comes out of hiding the Formorian demons will want her dead as well as the Steward Aifric Moncrieffe who happens to be the farther of Byron who Integrity may or may not be in love with. She also knows he may not forgive her for not telling him she wasn’t dead.
Despite all this she knows in her heart she must do what needs doing to save Scotland, no matter the consequences, despite what the prophecy says. There are several funny and sad circumstances and some that are some so happy that you can’t help crying with laughter. But as always my favourite character is Bob the Genie, he is always a good indicator of how much trouble the gang are in, like when know there is real trouble going down Bob calls Integrity her name instead of Uh Integrity as he normally does. If you haven’t read this series then you must, it is a definite must read.
OHMYGODS! I stand with Clan Adair! And I most definitely shed a tear as I read the ending. I love this book.
Integrity and her friends are in more peril that ever before. The hurdles they have to cross towards a happy ending for everyone are huge. But definitely worth it.
I highly recommend this series as well as the authors other series of the author. You won’t be disappointed.
