Bexley is celebrating her final night in Laguna, CA, when she is joined by Kai, Josh’s cousin. Josh is married to one of Bexley’s closest friends. There is an instant attraction that is captured so perfectly by Ms. Albert. Their courtship is fast, but super-interesting. They actually spend some time getting to know each other and sharing experiences and adventures before hopping in bed with each other. They communicate in a meaningful way, instead of just flirting. These are some of the things that set this book apart from other books of this genre.
Bex is moving to New York to help take care of her sister, who has ALS. This disease is treated respectfully and honestly by this author, and both sisters face very real challenges because of it. There is an incredible twist toward the end, and that twist brings added depth and understanding to these characters. This author did a wonderful job with a challenging storyline. How often do readers actually believe that two protagonists can fall in love in one day? C. M. Albert actually succeeds in making this possibility believable and inevitable. She takes a near-insta-love storyline, and pulls the reader in so fully that there aren’t any doubts that these two protagonists will make it!
Bexley finds her true love on the last night In Laguna. She definitely makes it a night to remember. She meets Kai who is so handsome with those crystal blue eyes that can just melt you down. This is a beautiful love story. Its sad, heart breaking and emotional, but so real. A lot of surprises. Definitely A Must Read!
This is a good instant connection read. I really liked Kai, Bex was harder to like at times.
The storyline was wonderfully written and the well defined characters kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
This was a fantastic new read from C.M. Albert. Bexley s a free spirit who heads to Laguna Beach during a cross-country trip. Kai is a sensible, responsible man who decides to finally let loose in Laguna Beach. When these two meet, the attraction is off the charts intense. When one night quickly turns into more, things become complicated and ghosts from the past to wreck havoc. Last Night in Laguna is filled with heartache, twists, passion, romance, and love. I really loved reading this story. This is a captivating, heartwarming story with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with.

Bexley’s moving across the country to help her sister, and this is her last night in Laguna. She meets Kai tonight, and there’s instant connection for both of them. They have one night together to make a memory that neither of them will forget – and they do. They do their best to stay in contact while she immerses herself in a new life. Before her sister’s health is too far gone, she confides family secrets to Bexley, hoping that she’ll finally be able to open up her heart to Kai.
I just loved this book. Kai’s the boyfriend we all want – doing things on the spur of the moment, supportive of any decision, wants to do the right thing, willing to uproot to make a family, completely forgiving. Bex is the young woman I’d like to be – not afraid to try something new, willing to admit her mistakes and shortcomings, willing to take a chance. I was reeled into the story from the first page, and read the book in one sitting. This is my first read from this author – looking forward to more of her books.

This couldn’t be more perfect. Bex and Kai are the perfect pair. You could sense their chemistry and connection from the beginning and the way the story is written you can’t help but fall in love with them too. They have obstacles to face but their love never wavers and I loved that.

A sweet romance about instant attraction, with delightful characters and humorous dialogue. Bexley lived up to the moniker of Gypsy given to her by her beloved father, bringing to light the care we have to take when labeling our children, as more often than not those names become the creed we live by. Bexley truly believed that she would never be able to settle down, not realising that she was living by a false set of self-imposed rules. I loved the immediate and fated attraction between Bexley and Kai and the longing they had for each other after they parted. A beautiful story with a twist in the tale. The bitter-sweet relationship with Vaughn also stirred me deeply. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily reviewed this book. This is my honest review.
I loved it!
This was a good read. I had a hard time warming up to Bex and it made it was hard to root for her and Kai together.
