Scarlett is trying to save her grandfather’s farm, but the place is a huge mess. Hudson is a cowboy mechanic who offers to help her fix up the broken down cars on the ranch. Can Hudson fine tune Scarlett’s heart as they work together? Or will things backfire and make everything worse at Last Chance Ranch?Scarlett Adams has had enough. Enough of men breaking her heart. Enough of her boss saying … her boss saying she needs to do better. Enough of the traffic and hustle of the city. So when the opportunity to take over her grandfather’s horse ranch in the hills of California comes along, she jumps at it. She’d rather spend her time with horses, dogs, and goats than honking cars, power suits, and men who don’t call back.
And she’s finally happy.
Hudson Flannigan knows three things: horses, cars, and that he’s never going to make his father proud. Not only that, but he’s disappointed his mother too. Well, his ex-wife did that when she found someone else to love, but its somehow Hudson’s fault.
When Scarlett needs help getting the rundown ranch back into shape, she hires Hudson to get all the vehicles into proper working order. The spark between them is instant and hot, but neither of them wants to endure another painful breakup. Can Scarlett and Hudson find the faith and forgiveness they need to fix themselves as they restore Last Chance Ranch to its former glory? Or will this fine-tuning of their hearts backfire and leave them more broken than before?

New author for me, and I will read again! Not sure why there are so many cowboy books, but this was a good one. Two people with past relationship failures are cautious about a new one. They worked through things. Good read.
“Last Chance Ranch” was a poignantly written novel which was filled with romance, love, and spirituality. Moreover, the main characters, Scarlett and Hudson, gushed with chemistry. I loved the author’s vivid descriptions which made me feel as if I were right there on the ranch. It was a feel-good type of narrative.
I really like Hudson and Scarlet’s love story. They are both trying to make the last chance ranch work out. I loved it when Scarlet gets her fur babies back. Both have insecurities about love and they have to deal with it. This was a wonderful love story. Now I need to read the second book with Carson and Adele.
I started this series sight unseen and was blown away. I love it. The characters, the circumstances, the humor.. so light and so different.
Enjoyed the Los Angeles environs used in the setting of this book and the realistic characters somewhat down by life choices and changes.
3 stars. Good book though a bit dull.
Wonderful romance about a second chance at love for amazing people.
I like cowboy stories.
A great story with encouragement and hope woven throughout
Fun romance.
Characters fall in love a little too quickly to be realistic, and cover photo doesn’t match the extra weight that causes the main character to be insecure.
Liz Isaacson is always awesome.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved finding out what would happen next in her quest to build the property into something that would support her. The interaction with the other characters was interesting and I could imagine it was all someplace real.
This a great cookbook if you are single or couple. It has great simple and delicious meals. Health and inexpensive ones!
Really a great book. Scarlet can’t understand how a billionaire could love her because she was over weight. Even as hard has Hudson tried to show her, she just couldn’t believe it. She ran a rescue ranch for dogs and some other animals and he was a handy man. Even when she knew she was falling for him, she couldn’t let go. Her first husband had put her down for her weight gain. She figured she was not every going to love anyone again. This wonderful up and down love affair is so cute, it makes you laugh yet feel sorry at the same time. It is a wonderful book to read.
This author is one of my favorites and she never disappoints.
The characters are captivating and real.
The plot has many emotions that make it a must-read.
Good story and character driven.
Loved the book. Love anything western I can get my hands on
The book has an interesting plot about two divorcees and how they work out their romance. It is set on a ranch and how the two characters work together to make it thriving again. There are intriguing twists and turns.
Really enjoyed it — and didn’t even think of that “last first kiss’ until almost the last chapter. Sue hope it was.
