A GREAT SURPRISE !
Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Whitney Walker is pretty good at work.

One day when she just wanted to be quiet at work, she received a phone call to inform her or a very strange murder.
She doesn’t know yet but an incredible investigation has just begun…

A very good and surprising thriller!
When I first read the beginning of this novel I already knew it would perfectly suit me :
– an interesting character
– a gripping story
– a nice author writing
– an intriguing investigation to solve…
Everything was here to become this so distracting thriller !
I’m so happy to have discovered this New author !
I do recommend this Book.
Having read the 4 previous books one would think that book 5 would not have the ability to surprise.
Wrong!
Once again Cavendish and Walker pulled me in to their world of murder mystery.
Keeping my attention riveted on their investigation until I finished reading.
Keep them coming. PLEASE!
I received a free advance copy from the author Sally Rigby for my honest review.
With “Last Breath”, author spins a clever copycat tale in fictional Lenchester, that could be right out of the headlines, full of twist and turns, full of suspense, red herring offerings as to whodunnit and it’s connect the dots investigation.
Like that DCI Whitney Walker and Dr. Georgia Cavendish are friends, strong chemistry and with Tiffany confiding to George regarding leaving college to travel. It adds drama to the storyline as the two must work through it and it makes the “Last Breath” better by adding it to the mix. Definitely a worthy read enjoy and give the author a try.
WOW !! Sally just keeps getting better and better with this series !! I absolutely love them ! She has a tendency to make you think someone or several are the suspects when none of them are. Definitely worth getting AND reading it all once you open. It’s that good !! Loved it !!
I received this as an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.
A pink scarf is the calling card of an old cold case. Has the killer returned or is it a copycat? As the bodies start to pile up, Walker calls in the help of the forensic psychologist, Dr. Georgina Cavendish. Can they find out who the killer is together or will more die? A very thrilling story that murder mystery readers will love! Characters are great and interact ever so well together. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Allow a full day for this family-friendly procedural with Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker and psychologist Dr. George Cavendish seeking a copycat killer. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Great story by Sally Rigby
Sally Rigby nailed it again! Although this is the fifth book in the series and I´ve read the previous ones, it did not lack in suspense, action and relationship problems. Inspector Walker is not having the best time ever regarding her boss and the Dr. Cavendish. The way their conversartions are written there is a lot of sarcasm, hard words and disdain (nothing different from real life….). Characters seems very much like normal people in their everyday business and are tharefore very relatable. I look forward to reading Sally´s next book .
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
An ice cold case looks like it might be getting really hot in Lenchester. Rigby’s done it again with an intriguing addition to the series. This story pursues another unsub with an MO different from any we have encountered previously. The MO does seem familiar to some of the force though. Likewise, the friendship between Cavendish and Walker seems to be hearkening back to the earlier days of their relationship. Can they move past their personal issues to stop the killer? Perhaps the creepiest parts of this story are the peeks into the mind of the killer.
This is book 5 in the series but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. The mystery is fully contained in this book and there is enough information given to jog the readers memory of previous events or to inform a new reader so they can follow the relationship side threads. It is a good balance and well done, no info dumps.
This is the fifth book in the DI Walker and George Cavendish series. In this book, Cavendish and Walker’s relationship becomes strained just when Whitney needs her friend, psychology professor, and police consultant, Dr. Georgina Cavendish. Whitney can’t figure out what’s going on with her but needs to focus on a murder that’s surprisingly like the murders perpetrated by a serial killer over 30 years ago. Is it the same killer? They put a man in jail for another crime and the murders stopped. Did they make a mistake or is this a copycat admiring the work of the original? Why won’t George tell Whitney what’s bothering her? To get the answers to these and more questions, you have to read the book. It’s worth it. *I received a copy for an honest review.
Sally Rigby does it again! Another amazing episode of Walker and Cavendish solving the never ending mysteries. The funny thing is, until I started reading Sally Rigby books I never really liked British mysteries. Ms. Rigby creates believable characters. The conversations are interesting and keep you turning pages long after you should have turned off the light. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
I received a free advanced copy to review but this is my own honest opinion.
Another thrilling read from Ms. Rigby! Cavendish & Walker are having a few issues which lead to some tension between them but they soldier on to solve the case. Someone is murdering older women and leaving them with pink scarves around their necks. It’s the same as an earlier case years ago. Could it possibly be the same killer now? Or who could be copying them so well? On top of that, Walker’s daughter wants to leave school and travel. She confides in Cavendish and then doesn’t tell her mother causing more tension between the two colleagues. Can’t wait to read the next one!!
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I was a happy reader when I came across this one especially since I had read the ones before this. This one is a real puzzler too which makes for some good reading. Whitney and Georgina must come together to solve this one and I do mean come together since things have been a bit dicey. Since I find murder mysteries captivating this one was that and more. You become so involved you forget that this is a story haha. With surprises inbetween you get the very best in this one. This one was a treasure.
an on the edge of your seat read! I loved this book! DCI Walker is on the case with Dr Cavendish and they will get their man! Could it be the pink scarf Lenchester Strangler copycat? Lots of twists and turns and complex interesting characters fill this book! I could not put this book down! If you want a wonderful read, this is it!
DCI Walker is investigating a murder of an older woman strangled with a pink scarf. Some pieces of hair are taken from the back of the victim’s head as a souvenir. And then another murder is committed with the same MO. It looks like a copy cat to the Lanchester Strangler of 30 years ago. This is a page turner that will keep you reading. There are twists and turns to keep you guessing.
My first book by this author. This is a great detective series that made we want to read more. An interesting case with pink scarves, dementia patients and a supervisor that is truly unlikable. The female detective, Whitney, and the doctor, George make quite a pair and though they disagree about some things they get it done! Definitely a series to follow from beginning to end!
Sally Rigby builds real-life characters, or as real life as fictional characters could be. I have enjoyed her books from the first of the Cavendish and Walker series to the fifth, Last Breath, coming out soon. I highly recommend this detective series that are difficult to put down.
LAST BREATH…Sally Rigby
Detective Chief Inspector Whitney enjoyed being out in the field. A call a woman found murder, divorced and wealthy. She had a strange taste in men, mostly they wanted her money and had.a daughter. Strangled with a pink chiffon scarf, was it the strangler from thirty five years ago, this was his calling card. She now has a cold case to dig into, was it the same or of a copy cat.
Good plot, that carries you to the end, as with the Detective trying to find clues. Good series and readers will enjoy.
Given ARC .for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
I received an ebook from the author and this is my honest review. Sally Rigby is the real deal. She gives you entertainment, intrigue, mystery, thrills, and chills. Her series are must reads if you enjoy an easy to read page turner!
Whitney and George are back! In this installment, they are back with another murder case. The case they are solving has a number of twists which keeps it interesting. The case is solved in a logical method like previous books. This time around George and Whitney have some friction and this makes for some more interesting dynamics to their friendship. The supporting characters are developed a little more in this story. It’s a nice addition to the series. I look forward to learning more about them in upcoming stories. I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
