“Adored. Simply adored. Harloe Rae is the queen of swoon-worthy heroes. I love her unique voice and style.” — USA Today Bestselling author, L.J. ShenShe’s the one I’ve been saving myself for.Addison Walker is every fantasy I never dared to believe in.Moving to this town was already monumental.Finding her removes any lingering doubt. She’s bold and vibrant.Beautiful and confident.Far too good for … bold and vibrant.
Beautiful and confident.
Far too good for the likes of me.
Luckily, I’m not good at avoiding temptation.
But is she?
My desire is growing beyond control.
I’m done watching on the sidelines.
When opportunity strikes, I eagerly take advantage.
Signing on the dotted line before thinking twice.
The repercussions cross my mind far too late.
When she swiftly sticks me in the friend-zone, there’s not a damn thing I can do about it.
Addison is just down the hall—might as well be miles away.
Every lingering glance drives me to the edge of sanity.
She speaks to my deepest cravings like a siren.
Our chemistry blurs every line.
This battle seems impossible to win.
Yet my determination doesn’t wane.
It only takes one night to change everything.
After all, I didn’t wait all this time to settle for less.

Harloe Rae writes about Shane and Addison. Both from the town of Garden Grove. Previous books, Gent and Miss have their characters making an appearance.
Addison and Shane have an instant connection but Shane, a shy, inexperienced guy from a very strict upbringing never makes his move which has Addison questioning his attraction for her. Three years of friendship and he ends up as Addison’s roommate.
“I’m crazy in love with you.”
“Those three words are a balm to my scars, healing the past and feeding the future.”
Harloe delivers a sweet romance which gives you the warm fuzzies. You are instantly drawn to Shane’s character as his innocence is so swoon-worthy & Addison is the opposite with her feistiness and confidence which makes for an interesting pair. Their chemistry is off the charts! I highly recommend this read!
Oh my my, this book is so good!! Shane is so yummy, took awhile for him to break out of shell with Addison but when he does-look out. Super swoon worthy read, just love this book.
So, this was honestly not at all what I was expecting at all. Shane’s whole back story is so different from what I ever thought I mean I didn’t know much, but honestly I thought he grew up their with them! I never expected the twists and just what it was, but it gave Shane this whole other side and this whole DUH factor of why he is the way he is.
Addison is just so, her! Like you get bits and peices of her in the other stories and there so her. But getting in there and meeting here is so fun. She is such a fun and adorable girl.
These two have so much chemistry and just everything, but there so oblivious to everything when it comes to one another. Even though if it smacked them in the face it couldn’t be any clearer.
I love the side character I interactions and all the banter and every time they are making fun of the main characters!! There is so much friendship and love in this story.
The little things between Shane and Addi that add up to these cute big things are the most adorable. This story, honestly may just be one of my most favorites.
The story goes so deep into places that are not “dark” but into a past that just seems so raw and real. I just have so many feelings revolving aroubd this whole story.
**3.5 Stars**
Addison is temptation personified, at least in Shane’s eyes. But he’s in the friend zone with her, and can’t figure out a way to evict himself from it. At least, he can’t until Addison needs a roommate and Shane, being the good guy that he is, offers to fill that role. He sees it as his chance to change their relationship to more. Well, that was the plan until Addison stressed it was a platonic arrangement. Poor Shane can’t catch a break.
These two just balance each other out in all ways, and while Addison may be scared to take the step that could change their friendship forever if it doesn’t work out and wants to protect both of them from that possibility, but Shane wants to prove to her that it will change, but only for the better. He knows they’re meant to be. Shane knows he isn’t like others his age and he’s comfortable in his skin despite his strict religious upbringing and that he went against their vision of his future. He’s secure in the fact that Addison is meant to be his and is prepared to be patient, to be everything and anything his soulmate needs him to be.
As they spend more time together, Addison can’t help but see Shane for the good man he is and her resolve crumbles minute by minute, but fear is a powerful motivator and she’d rather have Shane as a friend than not have him at all.
Can Shane convince Addison that it’s, that he is worth the risk? Will Addison realize her HEA has been in front of her all along? Is this the start of their forever?
One-click now and follow along as two people, both wanting more yet one scared to take the chance, fight for love. I really liked these characters. You couldn’t help but love Shane. He wasn’t ashamed of who he was, nor in expressing his emotions. In my opinion, that is a real man. As for Addison, you can understand where she’s coming from, and while it may have been a little annoying how she kept denying what they could be, you also can’t fault her for it and she burrows into your heart as easily as she did Shane’s. Anyone that has fallen for a friend knows that uncertainty. – By Elizabeth
5 Star Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
I’ve been reading a lot of amazing books lately, but Lass might be one of my favorite. I found Harloe Rae’s writing to be refreshing and fun. One minute I was swooning and cheering for these two. The next was was almost on the floor laughing. I have to say, this book comes at a time for me where I needed an escape. This book did just that.
I loved Shane with every fiber of my being. He’s really…new to things. I love that as the hero, he was vulnerable, a little naive, and a whole lot sexy. I loved a male lead that wasn’t afraid to be different. I think that’s what really set this book apart from most right now. And I loved Addison. She may have had more experience in life, but she was just as new to things as Shane. I loved these two on a whole level that I can’t really explain.
This was an amazing romance. The storyline was engaging and fun but offers a rich deepness and powerful emotions. The characters are complex, complicated and incredibly likable. This book is a complete standalone romance but it does contain characters that appear in the Gent and Miss books. So if upon reading you are intrigued by Raven/Trey and Delilah/Zeke, I suggest you read their books because you will not be sorry! Now, This is Addison and Shane’s story and it is a sure bet to melt your heart. Addison is sassy, sure of herself and has a soft center that still harbors the dream of “The One” sweeping her off her feet and getting a HEA like her parents did. Despite this, she has major walls and lets fear of never finding that kind of love or worse being heartbroken heavily influence her actions. Shane is a unique, totally swoon worthy hero. His past is painful and his struggle to find his place and deal with his feelings for Addison come across as charming, while inspiring the readers sympathy. I won’t give away spoilers, but trust me he starts very firmly behind the eight ball and must work very hard to make any progress with his relationship with Addison. Together they are quite cute, sweet, funny and yes, sometimes frustrating. They are a perfect pair though and I found myself rooting for them through the whole book. The plot offers some drama, angst, humor, some heartache, a few surprises, sweet love and steamy passion.
5 charming stars!

Witty and entertaining, Lass by Harloe Rae is the perfect friends to lovers romance. It was a laugh out loud, feel-good romance with an interesting backstory.
Shane is a very likable character, trying to find his way in the real world after leaving his family. Growing up in a very religious, closed off community didn’t teach him what to expect if he ever went off on his own. He was definitely not prepared for the temptation that was Addison Walker. From the moment he laid his eyes on her, she called to him like a beacon and he knew she would bring him to his knees. After years of trying to be the friend he thinks she needs, the opportunity to show her he wants more arrives and he is nothing if not persistent.
Addison is born and raised in her small town, living her life one day at a time. She is quirky, smart, and loveable. The moment she meets Shane, she is attracted to him. The more she gets to know him, the more she likes him but no matter how many feelers she puts out, he just doesn’t seem interested. When the opportunity to live together comes knocking on the door, she decides it is best to friend zone him. But Shane is irresistible and Addison can only fight her attraction for so long.
Addison and Shane are perfect for each other. They balance each other out. He learns a lot from her and strives to be the very best partner. Addison is thoughtful about Shane’s past and his upbringing. She tries to understand and love him all the same.
Rae did an absolutely astonishing job with this book! It brought something different to the table and it worked flawlessly. A great heart-pumping book that had me laughing and swooning all at once.
I love small town romances; there’s just something about a community of people who know each other as more than just acquaintances and who have each other’s backs when it’s most needed, which means that even if there is a group of busybodies who like to gossip and put their noses in everyone’s business, there are still more positives about living in a place like Garden Grove – the setting for Shane and Addison’s story, LASS.
Shane is not a typical romance hero due to his inexperience in some aspects of his life, mostly due to how sheltered he was before moving to Garden Grove and living on his own. And it’s Shane’s innocence that makes him beyond adorable and more than a little swoon worthy, but his naivety is also one of his worst enemies because going after what he wants…what his heart needs is quite a bit trickier, but I should have known that I didn’t need to worry about Shane finding his ‘alpha-ness’ because when it comes to his greatest temptation – Addison – he’s bound and determined to prove that they belong together, and with that in mind, he becomes quite a quick study, proving that he’s the perfect alpha male for Addison.
Addison may be Shane’s exact opposite when it comes to their personalties, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting her and as he finds the courage to go after her, she offers him the perfect opportunity…too bad by agreeing to be her roommate, though, she enforces a strictly plutonic friendship, but as Shane’s confidence grows and the attraction between them intensifies, their true feelings for one another start to blur the lines of their roommate-only agreement, forcing them to figure out exactly what they want from each other and what they’re willing to risk to get it.
I really liked how Harloe Rae reversed the hero and heroine’s roles and characteristics, at least at the beginning of the story. The fact that Addison is the more outspoken and confident of the two made things quite interesting and it also helped to pinpoint when Shane started to figure things out and come into his own, which definitely helped him achieve his ultimate goal of making Addison his.
LASS is a slow burn, feel good romance that plays up the idea that opposites most definitely attract. Shane and Addison’s story is filled with funny, swoon worthy, and steamy scenes that trace the progression of their relationship and allow readers to witness these two very different people figure out exactly what they mean to each other.
4 Poison Apples
This book is one of those that I love.. You have the slow burn tension.. These two are so innocent and sweet. They do the friendzone thing but soon it appears that there’s more to them then that. Addison and Shane are incredible together. I liked how she was supported and didn’t make fun when he told her he was a virgin. Despite growing up the way that he did, he seems to know a lot about passion. Sure he’s a little naive but when it comes to doing the deed, he is dominating and sexy as hell. I loved Addison’s smart mouth, her determination and how she is with Shane. She held him off but soon the feelings were to much. If you like the built up strong and then the time came it was explosive, then I’d encourage to read this book. I enjoyed every minute of it!
THIS BOOK IS DEFINETLY WORTH TO READ!!!
Oh my !!!! I’m so in love in this book !!!
I read Lass as first book from this author and since the begining I fall deeply in love with this characters !!!!
Harloe Rae has taken me by suprise … Of course I saw here and there books with her name, but I always thought: okay maybe not this time… and my TBR from this author became big and bigger since a long time. But ! One beautiful day, by accident (what a shame !) I’ve done some one click acctiion and Tadam !!!! My rollecoster ride with Mrs Harloe has began. Shane and Addy gave me so much fun !
Shane is my man ! I love read books about a**hole, so my meeting with Shane gave a little shock. However… with all his kindness and sweets Shane was so refreshing for me. He is PERFECT boyfriend, everybody’s type. He’s handsome hottie, calm…. but he knows exactly how to steal women hearts.
Addy is tottaly opposite for him because she is just CRAAAZY….but so adorable and loving and pasionate and perfectly match for Shane in the same time.
This couple just shine ! And I s*it You not !!! They are sweet together, they are even more sexier ….gahhh I loved them sooo much. Of course they have some hard and good moments…. just like normal love couples, however there’s not too much drama in the background.
I’m sure that after Lass I want to catch up with other folks is whole series now !!!

This is one of those novels where you just want to yell and make the characters open up and communicate. I liked seeing them fight what was between them but at the same time I wanted them to just give in. It was sweet that neither wanted to ruin the friendship but Shane and Addison had this chemistry that I could feel from the start. As the story progresses and we see them open up more it just got better and better.
Once the story picked up I really loved seeing the interactions with not only the main characters but also all the secondary characters. They really helped this story thrive. (Not that it needed anything to hold my compete attention) I can’t wait to go back and read some of the secondary characters stories. I have no clue why I’ve put it off. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Harloe Rae is a newer-to-me author. I fell in love with her after reading her obsessive and sweet stalker hero in Watch Me Follow. Naturally, when I read the blurb for Lass I was instantly hooked.
My desire is growing beyond control.
I’m done watching on the sidelines.
When opportunity strikes, I eagerly take advantage.
Doesn’t that sound like an obsessive, totally-in-love hero? I can’t resist. And Shane did not disappoint. After growing up in an oppressive, religious, near cult-like community, Shane is surprisingly sweet and sexy. He was innocent, yet knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid of his feelings.
Addison frustrated me at times. Her boundaries felt so wishy-washy, yet I can understand not being able to resist Shane. I did love that they took their time to grow their relationship – a true friends to lovers relationship that is just so relatable and realistic.
Fun read with a cute storyline. Can’t wait to read more swoony heroes from Harloe Rae.
What could a girl like her see in a guy like him.
A guy who was sheltered from the world in a small religious compound.
His awkward social interactions with her have him confused as to whether she’s attracted to him.
She’s in desperate need of a new roomie, along comes he who baffles her but gets her heart racing.
The line is drawn, the friend zone is in play, but for how long?
A sweetness so light it’s adorable. Your heart instantly melts at his efforts. Clueless and stumbling blind he is so unique.
She is more than her job, more than her red hair and more than her freckles. Shes beautiful both inside and out.
I loved how pure this book was. The characters are amazing. All so positive and admirable, minus the crafty gossiping duo who you still can’t help but love!
There’s so much tenderness and devotion in this book. Such a refreshing read.
I love this series, so charming and wholesome and can’t wait to see if there’s more to come!
I love Harloe Rae’s work and everything to do with this series. I’ve been anxious for Shane and Addison’s story since we left this world of characters at the end of Miss. Garden Grove is a quiet, insular little bubble of a town and following this group of friends as they pair off and start to become more adult than young adult is super entertaining.
Shane comes from a complicated background that is essentially a religious cult on an isolated compound. He left and is having to learn a ton of things on the fly in the outside world. Addison is a lifer in town, server at the local pub and a red-haired spit fire. An odd couple with some intense chemistry, they dance around just being friends for what I’m sure feels like eternity until becoming roommates finally pushes them past the point of no return. After that, things get hot and even more complicated!
Recommend this book and the whole series!

“You need attention?” I remove her heels and throw them over my shoulder. “Get that from me. I take care of you. All your smiles are mine. There’s no need to provoke me, Adds. I’m right fucking here, waiting for a sign you’re ready.”
Shane Rookston moved from his small sheltered home and landed right in Garden Grove which BTW is becoming one of my favorite places to visit. Addison Walker is a born and raised Garden Grove resident and loves it there. The moment Shane see Addison he is so overcome with her beauty he can barely speak. Let me start by saying Shane is absolutely in my top 10 for book boyfriends his naivety, quiet confidence, surprising alpha tendencies and knowing what he wants with the utmost convection. Addison is so much fun, caring and quirky. She is the perfect match for Shane and the attraction between them is the perfect slow burn developing from a friends-to-lovers.
Shane has had a crush on Addison for the past two years and when the opportunities arises to be her roommate, he jumps right on it, however what he was not expecting was to immediately be put in the friend zone by his choice. Addison and Shane fall into an easy friendship that is so enjoyable to watch and has you rooting for the next step with every page, and when things finally move forward boy are the hot.
I’ve had the pleasure of reading every book by Harloe Rae and I can honestly say she just keeps getting better. I’ve really enjoyed all of the books in Garden Grove but this one is by far my favorite. Shane really is such an amazingly swoonworthy character that I just could not get enough of him and Addison really is the perfect match for him. There were some unexpected twists in this that I wasn’t expecting but I loved how it all played out. If you are a fan of small-town romance mixed with a friends-to-lover story you will absolutely love this one.
“I love you, Addison Jaymes. I was ready to tell you that first day at Dagos, crazy as it would have been. But that’s the honest truth.”
Harloe Rae is amazing when it comes to swoon worthy reads and LASS is definitely one of my favorite reads of 2019! This is the PERFECT friends-to-lovers romance and probably one of the best I have read in a long time! Shane and Addison’s story left me breathless and completely satisfied when I reached the end. Sure I didn’t want the story to end because I was loving every second of it, but she did an incredible job with the storyline and her character development was on point…like it always is!
I think this might be my new favorite story from this author (even though all of her books have been amazing) because of our hero and heroine. These two totally stole my heart and I cannot stop thinking about them, even days after finishing their story! Their chemistry is just so freaking addictive and you won’t be able to let them go!
I totally recommend one-clicking this as soon as possible because you are missing out on a spectacular story! So go do it…RIGHT NOW!
This book was so hot! Who doesn’t love roommates that end up hooking up?! If you want a book that leaves you wanting more until the very end Harloe did an amazing job with Lass
Another great book from this author. If you have read her other books, you know what a treat you are in for. I really enjoyed the characters and my heart really cried out to Shane. The life he lead before going to this town had to have been awful for him and I’m so happy that Addison was able to look past it all.
Shane has wanted Addison since the moment he showed up in this little town but since he has zero experience he was always so nervous to take the plunge.
Addison has been holding out for the moment Shane realizes she wanted to be more than friends, but nothing ever happened. So when he volunteers to be her new roommate, she makes sure that he knows their moment has passed.
Shane never wanted to be just a roommate but it was over before it began…or was it??
