Five go by Land — Five go by Sea
A group of teens on a class trip to Disneyland are left stranded. An EMP over North America has destroyed everything electronic. No cars, no planes, no phones, no electricity. Refusing to wait for someone else to help them, ten courageous young people take charge of their future and choose to begin the long journey home. 1500 miles of adventure and lawless … lawless country await. Will their determination be enough?
Alex, Quinn, Josh, Cooper and Dara — setting out on foot with nothing more than some soon to be worthless cash and a little advice from a trusted teacher, they walk through a burning city that has come to a halt. The devastation they see as they make their way out of the city is a small part of the horror that the nation will become. As the days go by with no food deliveries and no water flowing from taps, civilization will start to crumble and it will be survival of the fittest. With five States and half a Province to cross they will need to plan well, count on each other and pray for a little luck. Even with that, chances are slim of getting home when you are Stranded.

I love this whole series. The characters are well rounded and believable, and do what they have to do to survive. This book follows the group that goes by land to try to get home when they are stranded far from home on a class trip when an EMP hits North America.
The entire series is phenomenal! I loved the depth of the characters and their struggles to survive given such overwhelming circumstances. These are all definite must-reads for anyone who loves ‘what if’ situations!
Loved this story. I’m really looking forward to reading all of the series.
A very well written story. Very entertaining and captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I only gave 4 stars because it ended on a cliffhanger. I will be reading the next book.
Great premise for a post-apocalyptic book -there WOULD Be people stranded in theme parks if an EMP went off, but had never thought about it before. VERY well written – especially for a young adult book. Does have some romance in the background, but not dripping with teen angst like so many of them are. Definitely a “Just one more chapter…then …
This book sucked me in right away, and I loved every minute of it and it’s sequels.
While visiting Disney Land, a group of students from Canada becomes stranded when a nuclear bomb is set off in central America. It destroys all the technology, rendering all cell phones, computers, digital items, and other technological advances utterly useless. With the help of one teacher, they pool resources and the students split up into three …
This is a book in a series of books and all of the series was exceptional. Couldn’t put it down
A teen book about a group of kids trying to survive a catastrophe with guts and ingenuity. It was upsetting that the book ends with a cliffhanger– after sticking with it to the end, the reader must read what actually happens to the kids when they… STOP! Yup, you can ONLY find out in the next book!!! Not impressed. 🙁
The writing of this novel does not do justice to the interesting idea. The characters lack depth, and there was far too much exposition.
I love this book and the author Theresa shaver i have read all the books in the series and cant wait to read more of her books she puts so much devotion and love into the story
Loved this series. Easy to read.
I purchased the rest of the series. It kept me reading.
Easy read with a familiar apocalyptic storyline with teen characters at the focus of the plot.
Some overused ideas but also some original. So it was pretty balanced. Liked the character growth
It is so good I am now reading the second book in the series.
This is a really good YA series.
I thought this book was a pretty good read,I liked the character interaction. I would’ve given it a higher rating if I didn’t think the author was a bit clumsy with weapons descriptions and doing just a bit much deus ex machina: making things happen just when they were needed; in particular coming up with vehicles to replace bicycles when they …
Wish the entire series was available
