HATHAWAY HOUSE Lance – 12Welcome to Hathaway House. Rehab Center. Safe Haven. Second chance at life and love. Lance Mayfair sought out Hathaway House at the recommendation of a friend, who told him it was an answer to prayer. Lance knows more about prayers than answers, but, if he can see progress in one particular area of his life and health, it will be worth the effort and the pain. He’ll do … the pain. He’ll do anything he can to play music again. It’s all he has left now that his days as a Navy SEAL are over and, with them, any chance of a happy, productive life.
However, the shoulder injury that ended his career pretty much guarantees he’ll never play his beloved instruments ever again.
Unless Hathaway House and Jessica can work a miracle.
Jessica has worked with many patients at Hathaway House, but she connects with Lance in a way she didn’t with any of the others. She can see the need inside him—his desire to create again, to heal through music. And his goal becomes her goal: to see him play music in his soul again.
Only his music isn’t all he wants or needs, and making him happy goes a long way to making her happy, but it’s not enough. Both want and need so much more.

Ok, Fess up time, how many wanted to go hear Lance play? I did. It was so well written that I felt myself leaning forward and getting frustrated because I couldn’t hear the music. Hathaway House is a house of hope. Possibilities and believing in ones self. I like that Lance questioned himself as he dealt with his struggles, his honesty with himself and his willingness to listen to his team members, and his soul. Jessica had the same self honesty and the joy of life she shared with all. This is a sweet romance that is laid on the rocky road our wounded warriors travel. Every time I read this series I want to know if there is a Hathaway House somewhere and if not what can we all do collectively to make it so. I don’t want this to just be entertainment, I want to know its a possibility, somewhere, somehow. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
Wounded warrior Lance isn’t sure if his jokester friend Iain recommended Hathaway House to help him or to pull his leg. Lance feels the pictures of Iain after pictures are almost unbelievable. His nurse Jessica is concerned about Lance’s adjustment to the center. With Hathaway’s approach for healing for more than the physical healing, Jessica helps him reconnect with his music. I love seeing the healing that happens at Hathaway House. This is a feel good read.
Oh my goodness..
This book was like watching a love story unfold. A love story with music bringing Lance and Jessica together. The same music that Lance has loved his whole life. Jessica makes an impulse purchase, and it turns out to be exactly what will remind Lance of the passion he has for music. A sweet Hathaway house romance that had me reaching for the tissue box, and smiling. So much love and all the feels.
The author described this book as a “Heartwarming Romance” and I could not think of better words to use. Lance has arrived at Hathaway House to further his rehab after hearing so many good things from his buddies. He was injured as a Navy Seal and now has to reset his goals and heal further to reach them. With his injuries, following his other dream has been jeopardized but music comes so naturally to him that he is really set on making this dream come true. His next dream comes naturally too but you have to read the book to hear about that. Reading this series resets my brain in a good way even though they tug at my heart. I really enjoyed Lance and Jessica’s story. Another great “Heartwarming Romance” in a equally great series.
The epilogue talks about Dani’s friend Melissa who has also been injured in the military. I’m anxious to read this as well!

I absolutely loved this story, in a series that already has some great characters and stories, it was perfect.
Lance goes to Hathaway House with a recommendation from two friends that we’ve read previously, in no way do you have to read the previous books first, and he meets Nurse Jessica who is instantly drawn to Lance and wants to make sure he recovers fully. As the days progess, they become friends and bond.
Well-written story, wonderful characters. Quick to read. Definitely recommend this book.
After friend Iain had sent him photos and insisted they had not been altered in Photoshop, injured ex-SEAL Lance Mayfair decided to give Hathaway House a chance hoping it is the answer to his prayers. If he can regain his ability to play music again then he’ll think that the pain is worth all the hard work he has in front of him. But can he get past the shoulder injury that seems to be a guaranteed that this dream is just not possible? Nurse Jessica has worked with many patients during her time there, but she seems to connect with Lance in a way that she did not with the others. She can see his need to heal through music and so that quickly becomes her goal t00 – to see him play music so that he plays music in his soul again too. Only his music isn’t all he wants or needs, and making him happy goes a long way to making her happy, but it’s not enough. Both want and need so much more.
This was a really sweet story of how an instant connection between two people slowly developed into a sense of camaraderie and how that developed into a love that snuck upon them both. I loved the way that everything wasn’t smooth sailing and how they both managed with the help of the staff of Hathaway House to move past those doubts and roadblocks. The ending was really special and well worth the wait. Well written, the writing was clever and intelligent as it wove a picture of how love can creep up on you.

Lance at the end of his road or is he? His friends encourages Lance to move to Hathaway House but he thinks his mates as are having a go at him. Or at least till he gets there. Though lots of pain and gains he just not sure what the tuture will hold for him.
Jessica a nurse who loves her job sees her friends around her find true love and she finds herself opening up to the idea. Lance is Jessica’s new patient and together they work to getting Lance on the right track of life. Music brings out the best in most and will turn others around. A very lovely story a real page turner.
I loved how one aspect of Lance’s previous life is the one that gives him the biggest reason to fight back and get his health as best as it can be, but its also one really special person and his physio that help boost him to achieve it. That he ends up with a lot of friends and support is a big bonus to help push him through last barriers to follow through and get his dream. I found this moving and inspiring, I felt for the pain the character suffered and empathised with his low points, but I cheered him on as he started to progress. Jessica is wonderful and supportive from the first but she also kept drama moments to a minimum and understood when he needed space and time without getting upset or taking it to much to heart, I felt they were both very suited in lots of ways. Fabulously uplifting always in this series.
Hathaway House, a house for healing for vets. Each book is a standalone but is so much more fun when read in order. This is Lance’s story and, yes, Jessica’s. This is a story about possibles and not giving up, to learning to accept help and to give help, to taking steps and finding balance. It is a beautiful story (and each book in this series is so very heartwarming). Bravo!!!

Oh this has got to be my favorite in this series so far. Sure he has injuries and a wounded soul, but it’s music that will help be whole again. Jessica is his nurse and his salvation. Loved it.
