“A well-crafted tale of murder begotten by the collision of two incompatible worlds.” — Kirkus Reviews
Some Amish communities aren’t so cozy.
The death of a teenage Amish girl in a cornfield looks like an accident, but sheriff Serenity Adams suspects foul play. To solve the murder, she must investigate the nearby Amish community with the help of a man who was shunned years ago.
At first … years ago.
At first glance, the case seems obvious. The poor girl was probably accidentally shot during hunting season, but when the elders of the Amish community and even the girl’s parents react with uncaring subdued behavior, Serenity becomes suspicious. As she delves deeper into the secretive community that she grew up beside, she discovers a gruesome crime from the past that may very well be related to the Amish girl’s shooting.
Serenity’s persistence leads her to a stunning discovery that not only threatens to destroy her blossoming romance with Daniel Bachman, but may even take her life in the end.
Some language & romantic sexual content.

If I could give this book and the others in this series 10 Stars I would!! The writing, the characters, and the story are just amazing. This book and the others are a definite page turner that I just couldn’t put down. I would highly recommend this book and the other books in this series!!
I really enjoyed this book and hope to read the entire series.
Very easy to read and kept me turning pages long into the night. Fast read but still developed well
this book was very good mystery and an interesting love story. Set in the amish country of Indiana with a lot of info on the setting, it had a more rounded view of the amish than most of the other books i’ve read about them. usually they are protrayed as wonderful & peaceful only, while this book showed them as more human like the rest of us. …
I really enjoyed the myseries and yes there are basically two and enjoyed the characters. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is a descriptive sex scene. I recommend as long as you don’t mind skipping a few pages.
A for sure page turner. Surprising!
Interesting read. Unpredictable protagonist.
An entertaining murder/mystery!
A pretty good mystery and insight into the closeknit Amish community.
Great read. Good story line.
Extraordinary portrayal of the Amish Society and its norms and cultures
Somewhat pedestrian and some of the plot points are a bit outlandish but overall not too bad. Like most books on Amazon it needs a real editor.
Very interesting view of the Amish culture from am outsider. Well spun story with a surprising resolution.
