Avery McAdams has dreamed about the day his band, Inch Away, would make it big, but he never expected to also fall in love at the same time. But it seems the woman he’s falling in love with, Cece Boyd, doesn’t have the same feelings. Apparently, their one sexual escapade was just a run of the mill romp in the sheets for her.Cece sees things differently. She thinks Avery is like every other … other artist: just looking for the best way to get to the top. She’s determined to not let their one-night stand get in the way of business. What she doesn’t expect is to be madly attracted to him.
While both try their hardest to keep it “professional,” being stuck together in a cramped tour bus only heightens the feelings they have for one another. Will they be able to keep hold of their professionalism or will they’re broken hearts mend together as one?

Loved the series. Kept my attention.
I love the way this series can be read as stand alone but to get the full on characters in his family you can read the whole series. Tragic follows everyone at one point and it is family and friends along the way who help make life as enjoyable. Cece has to overcome a lot but Avery seems to pull it out of her, a laugh or a smile to help her along.
Oh Avery!! I loved this story!! I just couldn’t wait to see how Avery got to find his love. Right from the beginning Avery had all his focus on Cece, he knew she was it. Cece, oh my Cece!!! She was so sure there was no way he could want her, not with her secret anyways. Watching Avery and Cece was incredible! All the sweetness and the passion they shared. Unconditional love and acceptance is all everyone ever wants, and this book does a beautiful job of showing how that can make a world of difference! Bravo Shannyn on an amazing end to the series!!! Can’t wait to read the next one!!
The last of the McAdams siblings is a music legend – not, according to Cece!
Cece Boyd is not only feeling the long term effects of her failed relationship with another musician, but, she also felt abandoned when her brother Riley bailed on her and their company four years ago. He was ok finding himself in Willow Valley in the McAdams sisters fourth book, Lakeshore Candy, but she didn’t know where he was or what had happened to him. So, in order to protect her brother’s legacy, Cece forced herself out of her comfort zone, and stepped up to run the music company, shutting herself down, shutting out her friends, and preventing anyone from getting close to her.
The last McAdams sibling, and Abby’s twin, Avery had been betrayed by the two closest people to him, his girlfriend, and best friend, who had been cheating on him. To make things worse, they’re also the other members of his band, Inch Away, and the band is on it’s way to the top – finally.
Avery and Cece spent an amazing night together at the end of Lakeshore Candy, and the chemistry was off the charts explosive. Maybe there might have been more, before Riley assigned her as the band manager to Inch Away, and after last time, there is no way she’s going through the trauma of a manager/musician relationship again. Especially as the ex-girlfriend seems to think that Avery is still getting over her.
Cece is proficient at her job, and has promoted the hell out of Inch Away. They have a lot of shows on the horizon, and now he has to see not only Cece, but his cheating ex-girlfriend and friend even more – on tour! Good thing for Avery, he’s not one to give up when the tough gets going. Cece’s tough, but Avery will keep going – after her! 5 Stars for a book in the Rocker genre. One of my favs!
Avery McAdams is the only boy in the family with four sisters. He’s been off touring with his band for several months trying to make it big. After finding out his girlfriend was sneaking around with his best friend, it was time for a break. With them all being members of the band, it was making things awkward. He was really surprised when he came home & found out his twin, Abby, was involved with the head of an indie recording label, Riley Boyd. Not only that but Riley liked the band’s sound & wanted to sign them. Then he met her.
Cece Boyd is not off to a good start. Her brother finally comes back to take over as CEO of the label & she’s mean to his new girlfriend. She even tried to break them up. Now her brother lets her go back to managing bands, which she’s good at, & he wants her to manage Abby’s brother’s band. The brother she had sex with several times & places in the game room. The man she can’t keep her mind off of.
Shannyn Leah has become an expert at writing about a family in such a way that the reader is immediately drawn into the story & is engaged. The give & take between Avery & Cece is illustrates the issue of Cece’s lack of trust in people in her life. She holds herself aloof so as to not be hurt anymore. After all, everyone leaves. These characters are realistic & three dimensional. Both use invisible masks to protect themselves from more hurt & pain. What will happen when Cece’s past comes out? Will Avery stand by her side or disappear?
