The final book in the Something in the Way series, a love saga. Now a USA Today bestseller.Manning and I have what happily-ever-after is made of . . .A home he built us on the unshakeable foundation we fought for.A life of laughter carved out of heartache and betrayal.A love story to stand the test of time. But between a trust that can’t be broken, joy that can’t be bridled, and passion that would … can’t be broken, joy that can’t be bridled, and passion that would scorch the sun, the empty spaces are becoming more and more difficult to ignore . . .
Fears that keep Manning up at night as he slips from our bed.
Our complicated relationship with a man he respects and one I don’t know how to forgive.
And a sprawling, beautiful home with one small room I’m afraid I’ll never be able to fill.

But I’ll beg the heavens for just one thing more.

My FAVORITE of the entire series!
1604 pages + 60 hours later and I have officially finished one of the most all-consuming & breathtaking love stories I’ve ever read. It might also have been one of the most infuriating I’ve ever read too. I spent the last 60 hours so consumed by this world and these characters that I felt like I was watching Lake & Manning live out their lives right in front of me.
The trials & tribulations that life threw their way might have been enough to break the strongest person but with a love like theirs it’s possible it could strengthen them more than ever before. It hurt so much to read the heartbreak that Lake & Manning went through after so much time lost. Yet I feel the way things happened and how everything fell into place ultimately made them cherish their moments more than the regular person would & it made their lives that much sweeter.
Things that changed for me throughout the series:
I fell more and more in love with Lake & Manning’s story with each book. Of course, there were things that might have made me want to scream while reading this series but ultimately these are the kind of stories that keep me reading romance.
Things that didn’t change:
I still hate Tiffany! For so many reasons!
AND Corbin still has my heart!
If you are looking for an all consuming and heartbreakingly beautiful love story, grab book 1 of this series – Something In The Way!
This is the fourth and last book in the Something in the Way Series. This is a great conclusion to Manning and Lake’s forbidden story. This is a great series, filled drama, angst, and twists and turns. Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber did a fantastic job with the narration.
This is about as epic as it comes. I’ve been along for the ride with Manning and Lake and have watched grow and conquer things put before them. I can’t believe that the end is here. This is a MUST read series. Ten awesome stars!!!
This series. I am so thankful to the person who recommended it to me. My heart bled for these guys.
This was a great conclusion to Lake and Manning’s story. All the loose ends were tied up in a very satisfying way. The characters all got an ending. The plot was wrapped up and all the questions were answered. It had all the angst and emotion of the previous books. I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone.
I didn’t know I needed this ending because my heart is all about Lake and Manning. And its the perfect ending for them, I loved this so much. This whole series has been a journey but it’s come to an end and it’s bittersweet. Thank you so much Jessica for giving us the closure we all needed!
Loved everything about this book. The 2 main characters, the twists, the turns. How years went by but they were able to find away back to each other.
I enjoyed every book in this series. These are books that can be read over and over. They gave me all the feels. I absolutely loved Lake and Manning’s story and although I didn’t always agree with the way their characters went about things, I was invested in their story from beginning to end. They weren’t perfect and they damn sure made mistakes along with way, but their characters had the love that make romance books my favorite type of books to read. The ending was sweet and I look forward to reading more books from this author.
I really loved books 1-3 in this series!
Unpredictable- engaging- and i totally binged on the first three books!
The perfect ending to a wonderful series.
I devoured Lake + Manning within hours!!! What a beautiful ending to such an EPIC series. This book is everything I was hoping for and more. Lake + Manning completed, fulfilled and satisfied me in a positive and significant way. It’s such a well written and wonderful love story that you gives you all the feels and is heart-warming. Everyone needs to read this book and the series. Fantastic job well done Jessica Hawkins.
This was a good conclusion to the story of Lake & Manning. It had all of the feels and chemistry that the other books had. I’m sad to be leaving these characters behind. Jessica Hawkins knocked it out of the park with this series. I can’t wait to read more from her.
10 Universe Tilting Stars
Honestly, 5 stars isn’t enough for the beauty that Jessica Hawkins created in this final installment. I can’t talk too much without giving anything away but, man did this book deliver. Many people were satisfied with the ending in Move the Stars. I wasn’t though. I wanted more of Lake and Manning together. I felt like we just got a glimpse into their relationship that week in NY and we all know how that ended.
We definitely got to see L+M as that one unit we knew they’d become. I fell in love with Manning all over again. Sign me up for a piece of that man. All that manliness and ruggedness should be illegal.
I feel like Jessica gave us a complete wrap up of everything Lake and Manning, including all side characters beautifully.
I mean, I laughed, I cried, I got angry, I fell in love again with the characters, I even got goosebumps. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this except one thing….. I don’t want the story to end. I will always want more Lake and Manning. These two will remain in my heart and mind for absolutely ever.
I can’t even pick up another book to read. I refuse…. I need to let myself simmer on all these emotions before closing the door on Lake and Manning. THANK GOD FOR REREADS!!!
Thank you, Jessica Hawkins, for taking me on this amazing and beautiful ride with you. I can’t wait to find out what else you have in store for us.
Loved the whole series and this one just tops it all. Finally the HEA Lake and Manning deserve.. All the angst, heartbreak, and anger to end with their final happiness. This series is a must read for sure. Jessica Hawkins is the best.
Once again Jessica Hawkins had me gripping my kindle hard as she continued to rip my heart out once more for the concluding part to Lake and Mannings story. Their story was never easy from the start; they had each overcome so many obstacles to finally find the happiness they sought. Even after they had ‘moved the stars’ fate continued to pit against them denying them the one thing they wanted most of all.
Whenever you pick up this authors work you need to prepare yourself for the gut wrenching, heartache and emotional rollercoaster that will ensue. This concluding part was no exception. JH writes with angst, emotion and will pull out all the stops to ensure your heart is given the ride from hell! Told completely from Lakes POV this time my heart broke apart at their plight. Watching all their friends and family find their piece of happiness whilst desperatly wanting the one piece that was missing from theirs.
I cannot praise this author highly enough, Jessica Hawkins is always a one click author for me. I don’t need to read the blurb; I just know that her books will give me all the feels and make my heart experience every range of emotion possible. This series has been outstanding!
Such perfection. This was the book that I wanted, no, needed. Such a perfect ending to the love story I’ve grown to love and cherish. I’m sure I was like most other people, wishing that we had gotten more out of the Lake and Mannings story. So perfect so perfect so perfect. Thank you Jessica for writing this.
Lake and Manning’s story continues and finally; they have a happily ever after! This entire series was 5+ stars! Would recommend it to all of my reading friends; it was that good! I am glad I didn’t start the series until all of the books were released. It would have been torture to wait for each book! I read the entire series in a matter of days; it was just that great!
Hawkins delivers once again in the roller coaster ride of emotions with Lake and Manning’s story. Each book in this series was full of a wide range of emotions, each book so well-written. Lake and Manning’s forbidden love story grabs hold and doesn’t let go! I don’t typically reread many books, but this series was so good it had to be revisited. Don’t miss out on this series and Lake and Manning’s story!
This book is just perfect! I knew Jessica would bring me to my knees ones again and she did not disappoint.
It has all the right emotions – it will make you cry, it will make you laugh, it will.make you angry and frustrated. I loved every word of Lake and Manning who became my favorite book characters over the months.
My favorite thing about the book was the time lapse, how we got to see their relationship develop and at the same time stay the same over the years.
Definitely a 5 star reading!
Lake + Manning by Jessica Hawkins a five-star read that you must have in your life. This is the forth book in the Something in the way series and through the series we have watched Lake and Manning grow and develop as people, watched their love grow and falter. The series goes from strength to strength and I know some people felt that book three was rushed, but I can guarantee this book will shush those people, as it wraps the series up nicely and I sobbed my heart out several times through this book, but do you know what I think I cried the hardest at the last page! Knowing there will be no more. Jessica Hawkins, you broke me!! But I have never been so happy to be broken.
After the emotional roller coaster ride we’ve had from the three books, you’d think this last one in the series would be all fudgin rainbows, unicorns, and sunshine! But oh no no no, not in Jessica Hawkin’s book. We got another roller coaster ride. A big one!! Gosh, I cried a freakin river! Jessica why you do this??? But it’s still so damn good! This journey with Lake and Manning has been a tough one. It was painful. It was heartbreaking. I’ve never felt these SO MUCH feelings for a book. For these characters. But all the more reasons why I loved them so hard. I have never been this so emotionally invested in a book. In these characters. And I actually do not thought them just as characters, I felt like they were really real.
It felt so so good after everything Lake and Manning endured, after years and years of wrong timing, they finally, FINALLY, got what they deserved, a happily ever after! Although of course it still was not easy, what GREAT love was? It just made everything worth it. The love between these two are inevitable. They are just meant to be. I loved Lanning so much that I know I won’t ever let go. After reading this last and final book of the series, I know for sure I would still imagine scenarios of them in my head. I’ve never stopped thinking about them. That’s how they made such an impact to me. How they made a mark in the deepest parts of me.
I cannot thank you enough Jessica Hawkins for writing a masterpiece of a series. You made something very special. A story that will forever be in my heart and soul *cries hard again* I loved every journey we had throughout the series. Especially the spoiler groups! I loved it. Never experienced anything like that. And for that, you deserve a standing ovation and a big round of applause *stands and claps hard*.
