A very entertaining read with lovely characters.
Kendrick MacCallum has been left with no choice after his home was attacked and his father killed but to ask his cousin for help. When his cousin Fin agrees to help but with the condition that Kendrick join him and his pirate crew to help him raise the money to hire an army and get his home back. Lianna is running from her evil uncle and an arranged marriage. Lianna has stowed away on a ship to escape, but goes from one evil to another. This was a very enjoyable story. There was a lot of adventure packed into it, from land to the sea to the island of Scarba, pirates, romance. I recommend reading this one!
Kendrick has lost his father, his clansmen, and their home to the evil acts of a horrible enemy. As the new laird, he must find a way to return what’s left of his clan to their lands and make it possible for them to survive. Against his better judgment, he goes to his last resort, a banished cousin who has taken up a life on the seas as a pirate for assistance. While waiting for an audience with his cousin, Kendrick overhears the dilemma of a beautiful young woman named Lianna, whom he cannot seem to forget.
As the tale goes on, Lianna and Kendrick have an unexpected adventure together and must face danger as well as a surprise or two in order to survive and be together.
This is a fun pirate romance, with an entertaining group of colorful characters, and just enough heat to keep those pages turning. It’s another of the Pirates of Britannia series books that are linked by a legend of of pirate from years ago, and each is different. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Kendrick MacCallum never dreamed he would trade his life as a highly respected, honorable Highland warrior—slated to someday take his place as laird—for one of piracy and deception, but harsh reality taught him that desperate times really do call for desperate measure. Left with no other choice, he will resort to almost anything to save his beloved clan, honor a vow made to his father, and rescue a precious cargo he discovers.
Laird of the Deep is the newest story by B. J. Scott and she has brought her A game with this lovely, at times nail biting and romantic tale of evil men, honorable men, rescue, love and happy ever after. I thoroughly enjoyed going back to Scotland along with a trip on the high seas to be reminded that men of honor really do exist.
Kendrick MacCallum could not believe that his home was under attack and it was by a neighbor that wanted their land. As the battle progressed, his father had him take his mother and sisters to safety. When he returned, everyone that was there was dead and his father’s head was on a pike. He had no choice, but to find his pirate cousin, Findlay MacAlpin. It was very hard for him to set all the honor and standards his father had taught him; aside. But he must do what ever it takes to restore the clan and put himself last. When Fin agreed to help him, they set a course to try and reclaim the stolen treasures from the MacCallum’s. However, there is a stowaway aboard Fin’s ship, and this turns out to be more that a quest, it might be the best accidental find of his life. Another wonderful pirate adventures in a seafaring world.
A great addition to the Pirates of Britannia, this time with Highland Laid Kendrick MacCallum. He and his clan have endured so much when his home was invaded and his father killed. He is determined to claim back everything taken but it seems the best way is to become a pirate so he can earn the funds needed.
But there is a slight twist as he finds hiding in his cargo, Leanna, a girl running away from her uncle and an arranged marraige. She just wants to be free.
This is a fast paced adventure that brings two souls together that are made for each other. But can they come together when Kendrick is focused on a quest that is so important?
Loved this story and the author always creates great characters and a storyline that you cannot put down until the end!
