A fun, period cozy mystery. Will read more in the series .
I found Lady Rample Steps Out to be a book that was an easy read cozy mystery. The main character was the story teller and her Aunt Butty was really a fun character. I am a fan of mysteries but I felt this book was mysteries light.
I liked this. I’ve read the reviews likening Lady Rample to Miss Marple and I don’t really understand that. She’s young, fit, widowed and raring to go. The similarities are probably in relation to the time period. I imagine Miss Fisher is more her vein. It’s an entertaining read which got me though a hospital stay. No gore or guts and fairly harmless. It bounces along quite nicely and I didn’t know who dunnit until the end.
I just did not like the main character at all, spoiled and selfish.
couldnot get interested in it. sorry
unexpected turns in the plot
Snappy, fun characters.
It was ok, pretty slow
Interesting period piece
Enjoyed all the characters. Just plain fun. Good story
In keeping to my vow to stick to first books in a mystery series when the writer is unknown to me, Lady Rampole was just the kind of period fluff I needed to wind down at the end of the day. It had just the right amount of novelty, humor, sexual innuendo, plot, and idiosyncratic but mostly believable characters to happily engage my attention. Blood-shed, yes. But not the “Oh, my God I’m gonna puke” gratuitous kind that spoils the genteel mood. All in all, a fun read that inspires me to try book 2.
An interesting, cozy mystery that has educational elements of 1932 London phrases and idioms.
Didnt think it was that good, didnt finish it
This is a fun series and I recommend it to anyone looking for light cozy mystery reading.
Couldn’t put it down.
Very different. Loved the characters. Great read!
This book was fun to read. The lead character is independent and sturdy. She forges her way through society to attain her goal.
This is a really good mystery. But it’s the language & culture from the era that makes it fun to read! Thank you for this opportunity.
If you like Miss Fisher you will like this first book of a new series
Very enjoyable read. Good character development.
