With this being Klassen’s first book it is no wonder that she has done so amazingly well in the writing profession. Charlotte is such a determined and humble lady. Her humility and sacrifice have touched me deeply. This story captured my attention completely and just when I thought I knew the outcome there was a plot twist to confuse me. It truly wasn’t until the last chapter that we finally know for certain just which man gets to keep Charlotte’s heart. I am not yet a mother, but for those who are this book will touch your soul. This heroine’s journey is proof of God’s forgiveness and his power to turn bad into good.
For those who aren’t into Christian fiction I will say the religious aspects in this book were not heavily talked about. It was more an over all Christian themed story. Now I can’t read another book until tomorrow because this one has given me a huge hangover.

Like many of Ms. Klassen’s books, this is an emotional roller coaster. The poor heroine makes one poor choice and then goes through much trauma and turmoil on her journey to healing. For most of the book, I was never quite sure if she was going to get the happy ending that I yearned for and the author certainly took her time meandering through years of the character’s life to get there. But that kind of timeline is what many readers appreciate, and she expertly covers those years without dragging out the story with needless scenes and details, which I appreciate and keeps me returning to her even though Ms. Klassen’s books are longer than my usual preference. In the end, I not only got a satisfying ending, but I also got an added bonus that I didn’t dare hope for.

I am always ready to read one of Julie Klassen’s books. This one did not disappoint. I am an OB nurse and was fascinated by the inclusion of details about the home she was in. It is a good and satisfying read.

A very nice tale by Ms. Klassen. Though not one of my favorite of hers, it is still a fun read with a good lesson at it’s core. I feel like the lesson was a little too brushed over perhaps, but everyone likes a happy ending, certainly me, and I wouldn’t have wanted to change that. I don’t know there was something about Ms. Lamb’s situation that irritated me, and I can’t quite put a finger on it well enough to put it into words. One scene that did stand out to me in particular was the closing scene between Pastor Lamb and … well you’ll just have to read it and find out for yourself. The overall story was fantastic and if you are a fan of Ms. Klassen’s or you just like regency period novels in general I do not think you will be disappointed. I highly recommend the Lady of Milkweed Manor, as I do with most of Ms. Klassen’s other novels.
