A vigilante is stalking the streets of Kansas City administering his own brand of justice when the justice system fails.
Criminals are being executed right under the noses of the police department.
In Lady Justice And The Vigilante, a new recruit to the City Retiree Action Patrol steps up to help Walt and Ox bring to an end his reign of terror.
But not everyone wants the vigilante … the vigilante stopped. His bold reprisals against the criminal element of Kansas City have inspired the average citizen to take up arms and defend themselves.
As the body count mounts, public opinion is split — is it justice or is it murder?
A moral dilemma that will leave you laughing and weeping.

Robert Thornhill has another hit with this 7th book in the Lady Justice Series.
It was great to catch up with Walt and the gang. I have a mountain of books to read and felt guilty for passing over them to start this series so I had taken a break from Lady Justice in the interest of fairness. The last time I went through my pile I could no longer resist Mr. Thornhill’s books.
I really like the smooth writing style. Very quick & easy to read BUT there is always a good plot and always some humor even in the more serious books.
I will admit that when I read in the paper of a criminal getting away with his crime I have a vigilante mentality. Of course I don’t act on it. I have also never spent much time pondering the constitutional aspect…as quoted from this book “Unless our constitutional rights and basic freedoms are guaranteed for every man, it could be just a matter of time before they are not available to any man.” This is a true statement. Police have a dangerous & difficult job but they must be sure to do everything by the book so the criminal element do not get off on a technicality.
Thank you Mr. Thornhill for another thought provoking & fun read!
Walt Williams and Ed Jacobs are two sides of the justice coin. Both realized their passion for justice after retiring from their respective careers at age 65. Although LADY JUSTICE AND THE VIGILANTE has some of the comic relief I have come to expect in the series, it is, by far, the most sobering thus far.
The rights of the accused have become controversial when those rights seem to supersede those of the victim. When an obvious felon walks free, it is easy to hold the defense lawyer accountable for this happening. Robert Thornhill does an excellent job of showing just how much circumstances alter cases. Lady Justice may wear a blindfold, but it is really hard to keep those scales in balance.
In some ways, LADY JUSTICE AND THE VIGILANTE compares favorably with THE FIRST DEADLY SIN, by Lawrence Sanders, in that there is no mystery as to whodunit. In the world of crime stories, whether written or on the screen, the telling does not lessen the impact, it heightens the suspense.
LADY JUSTICE AND THE VIGILANTE is the seventh book in the series. As with the first six, it can be read as a standalone, but do yourself a favor and start at the beginning with LADY JUSTICE TAKES A C.R.A.P. Thornhill does a fine job of recapping past stories with bits here and there throughout subsequent books, but you will lose so much of the backstory if you read them willy nilly, and the backstory is everything. Each book is a fast read and hard to put down.
This series have a great mystery series that Walt is investigating. I definitely love the humor. The Narrator does a fantastic job at bringing the voices out. I love the sarcasm and humor. This one definitely keeps you enthralled all the way through the audio. The Author has a very creative gift of bringing the story alive. I definitely recommend.

Just like all the Lady Justice books I have read, it can be read as a stand-alone but is so much better if you read them in order. This book is great! So much stuff going on with this crew and yet they make it through the other side with minimal impact. I love listening to this group! Narration like all the other books is absolutely perfect!
This review is for the audio book.
I enjoyed this book. Again the author gets you questioning the world we live in, in a serious but funny way. The characters he writes about are so different that he has you wondering what he is going to think up next or the funny situation that they are going find themselves in. In this book he tackles so many different situations from robbery to the homeless to child molesting to vigilante to murder, all serious subjects but in Walt’s world if you don’t make lemonade with lemons you only get sour puss.
When after a number of highly charged cases in court get dismissed, by police technicalities and the defendant walks away Scott free one citizens decides enough is enough. He starts doing what the police have failed to do and that is by taking the bad guys off the street. It’s up to Walt and his C.R.A.P team to put a stop to the revenge campaign before an innocent bystander is taken out. However as sides are divided whether it is right or wrong, one of Walt’s friends gets caught in the cross hairs and will need her own time in front of Lady Justice.
I like the narrator and hope he continues with the rest of the series as for me he is the voice of rookie cop Walter Williams.
These older folks are hilarious. Jerry told some really funny jokes. The story was fast paced and well written. Enjoyed it so much read it straight through in just a few hours. Will get more books in this series. Great characters. The scene between Ox and Judy in the diner was priceless.
Review Book #7 in the Lady Justice series and they just keep getting better. They are always fun with a little moral teaching and a lot of humor. Great series and I have enjoyed listening to them on Audible. George Kuch does a great job with the narration too. This was a gift with the understanding I would leave an honest review.
mystery, vigilantism, humor, law-enforcement, criminal-injustice-system
The good, the bad,and the irate. A very timely mystery which addresses the dissatisfaction of some with the criminal justice system and the need to protect the rights of all citizens, even the unrepentant guilty. As always, there is enough comic relief and reminders of the humanity of law enforcement, lawyers and judges, and members of the general public. Warning: This book will make you think! I really enjoyed it! The interjection of Ox’s change in personal life is great fun.
George Kuch continues to be the perfect match for Walt and the gang.

(Lady Justice #7)
by Robert Thornhill
Although I have several of books in this series I finally read one! I really enjoyed the flow, plot, and the characters…why did I wait so long? I read it out of order but it didn’t effect the story at all. I
I will have to make time for more of these books!
In this one, someone is picking off people who are getting off the hook for serious crimes due to minor technologies. Very serious crimes! He makes sure they are indeed the criminal. I am not condoning vigilante justice I am just telling you the story. How things work out is very interesting.
Audiobook review: Wow! What another great story. Mr. Thornhill does it again, addressing a serious societal occurrence with a seamless fictional mystery. I was kept guessing about how things may end up and could only imagine a different horrible ending. Love the characters and storylines!
