This 2nd book of the Lady Justice series was even more funny than the first! I hate posting spoilers because I am one of those people that gives in to the temptation to read them. Then I am disappointed to have ruined that special surprise when I read a book. Soooo, you have got to get this book and read page 41. I will not be able to eat candy again without laughing and maybe even blushing. heeheehee!!! I will never again make Thanksgiving dinner without be tempted to try some of the recipes that Walt & Maggie used or their decorating tips. I will most likely never again be able to sing along with my Elvis Cds without stopping to laugh either.
Well done Bob!
On to Lady Justice Gets Leid.
The second book in the Lady Justice series is every bit as good as was the first. I do believe I’m hooked! It is both laugh out loud funny and deadly serious, and filled with pop culture references that the Medicare set will appreciate. If you’re too young… Google is your friend.
In LADY JUSTICE AND THE LOST TAPES, Robert Thornhill continues to tell the compound story that is life and make you laugh along the way. Life is often crammed with story after story, so is this book. The resolution of problems is never straight forward and hardly ever easy. The expertise garnered over the lifetimes of the City Retiree Action Patrol (CRAP) and friends provides the Kansas City PD with a way of looking at crime from a saner perspective. With age comes caution.
The tapes? You will have to read to find out about music that will shake the record industry and fans worldwide.
There is a reason this series is about Lady Justice that has nothing to do with the famous statues adorning the courts. Justice is about looking at compatriots and seeing the diversity there with a loving eye. Too sappy for you? Along with the laughs, you will experience the emotional teardrop falling down your face not long after the tears of laughter have fallen. Life is a roller coaster and Lady Justice knows it.
This is definitely a Fantastic Detective and Mystery series that is very Humorous. This would make a great Netflix addition and a great Binge listen,it is very intertwining as well as fantastic mysteries to solve. This Author really knows how to bring a fantastic listen. I definitely recommend. The Narrator does a fantastic job with the different Characters as well and listening to the book. Scenes had me laughing so hard and is definitely a real page Turner

This review is for the audio book.
I enjoyed this book. It is book two in the series but you not need to have read the previous book to enjoy it, although it does help as it introduces Walt’s friendships more thoroughly. I love the side characters especially the feisty Mary but all the characters are fun and will have you laughing at there antics, if not there jokes.
Patrolman Walt’s friend is worried about an old girlfriend, who just happens to be a hooked and turns to his good friend for help. Investigating leads to a whole bigger problem and soon leads to mob connection, crooked cops, dead bodies and burnt buildings but it is all in a day’s works for a policeman. What isn’t in a day’s work for most cops is going undercover in guy bar, dressing up as a woman or entering an Elvis impersonator competition but for 65 year old Walt anything goes, now if only cooking a thanksgiving turkey was so simple.
I like the narrator, he has a deep voice but can still pull of ladies voices with easy.
What do Elvis impersonators and the Italian mob have in common? Why Walter, of course!
I’m really loving this series written by Robert Thornhill and narrated by George Kuch. There’s action, mystery, and more than a little humor. Pure entertainment!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
Wow book 2 in the series and still a great read. Really loved the Thanksgiving story. I read this part just the day after having 14 at my house for Thanksgiving. Very funny book. Looking forward to the next
law-enforcement, seniors, humor, mystery
The characters are a hoot, the mysteries are contemporary, the reminiscences are illuminating, and the situational humor is guaranteed to have any reader snorting their caffeine beverage! Walt retired from real estate and became a cop. His friends are also retirees of differing ages who wind up helping him. The publisher’s blurb is helpful, but doesn’t begin to prepare for situations like a bunch of people who never had reason to cook for themselves collaborating on a Thanksgiving dinner, or Walt’s friends and lady friend helping him get dolled up in drag for an undercover assignment. With dry wit and humor, the interwoven tales add up to another great read!
George Kuch continues to be the perfect voice for Walt and friends!
Audiobook review: Humor, real life situations, holidays, multiple mysteries to solve, danger, and a small amount of romance add up to to a comical yet serious story that makes for an enjoyable and entertaining audiobook. I love the characters, older but spunky and vivacious! The narrator did an awesome job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
“Lady Justice and the Lost Tapes” earns 5/5 Elvis Impersonators…Great Fun!
I am new to Robert Thornhill’s Walt Williams Mystery series, but after this book, albeit audio version narrated by the talented George Kuch, I am a big fan. It is delightful to read about sixty-six-year-old real estate retiree Walter ‘Walt’ Williams, who chose not to engage in my idea of a quiet retirement and instead becomes a cop with the Kansas City P.D. and starts the City Retiree Action Patrol: comically known as C.R.A.P., an obvious indication of the edgy and delightful humor twists to follow in this series. Thornhill paints a well overdue image of a capable bunch of ‘post-retirement’ people soaked in mature humor. In this second book, Walt with support from police officers “Ox” and Vince along with the scrappy seniors—Maggie (girlfriend), Willie (former con man), Mary (apartment manager), and the Professor (purveyor of words of wisdom)—set out to uncover the details behind the terrorizing of a local neighborhood, but going undercover dancing at a gay club or the transvestite bar in female attire or portraying Elvis at an impersonator contest all puts Walt ill at ease. The story is even more engaging when during the investigation, a never-before-heard recording session from a deceased rock ’n’ roll idol is unearthed… I loved Thornhill’s story challenging my inner detective, humor that made me laugh out loud, and well-developed and amusing, sometimes quirky, characters. Engaging…Suspenseful… Humorous! I highly recommended this book or any book in the series in any form, anytime…eBook, print, and especially audio!
