It is said that it takes away a person’s free will, and minions of a Columbian drug lord are using it to rob, steal, kidnap, and even commit murder. Fate throws Walt and his geriatric sidekicks into the path of the purveyors of Devil’s Breath endangering their lives and the lives of those around them. … them.
Once again, Walt finds himself face-to-face with the Grim Reaper. Will he survive to continue serving Lady Justice, or will the Devil’s Breath take his last breath away?

Another book with Walt and his crew and this one has me thinking about some different points of view that I really didn’t think of before when it comes to drugs in the world. Such real problems that make you think and the entertainment that keeps a you hooked.
This review is for the audio book.
Another great book that had so much going on that you can’t help but enjoy. Walt and the geriatric gang were once again facing down bad guys with luck and humour, long may it continue. The reason this series is now up to book 31 is because of the great characters and they are also the reason that you keep listening to the books, to find out what trouble they have got themselves into this time.
A new drug has hit the Kansas streets but it doesn’t give the user’s a high like most drugs. It makes them zombies and very suggestible to carrying out actions they wouldn’t normally do. When this fate be falls one of Walt’s friends he and brother in law Kevin try to get to the bottom of it. The victim doesn’t remember a thing when they come out of the trance, so the pair only has a simple description to go by but will it be enough to stop Jerry from going to jail, a Colombian drug cartels from moving to the city or even a murder? Lady justice had better hike up her stockings and hold on tight for one wide ride to get to the truth.
George kuch is as always great at bringing Walt and his friends to life.
Lady Justice and the Devil’s Breath is my thirty-first enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns & one-liners. Throughout the book I found myself smiling a lot & at times laughing out loud. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Up next is Lady Justice and the Mysterious Box. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
assassins, seniors, illegal-trafficking, private-investigators, law-enforcement, humor, greed, family, friendship
The good guys win again! (even if they did need to ask for help from a bad guy)
It opens with greed, progresses through felonies, adds in assassination, and still has a full quota of humor. The social ills are things done out of greed and the continuing obstruction of the general population by big pharmaceutical companies. Well, that’s out of greed, too.
I hate to do the whole recap and spoilers thing, but I will tell everybody that it’s a great series and yet each book is self contained enough that it doesn’t matter if you have read any of the others. But I suspect that you’ll want to!
George Kuch continues to be excellent as narrator, and if his style is slow for you, remember the speed icon on your app.
Audiobook review: Mr. Thornhill once again takes a divisive topic and presents in a way for the reader/listener to consider both sides of the scenario. Lady Justice and the Devil’s Breath is an entertaining story that will inform you and make you laugh. As a hospice nurse, I don’t believe that I’ll be able to place scopolamine patches on a patient again without thinking about this book. The narrator did a good job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This series just gets better and better. In this book the issue is a drug called Devil’s Breath. I have not heard about this drug which is much worse than a roofie. Don’t miss reading or listening to this series you will be greatly entertained. These books are funny, informative and relevant to the times.
