Ox and Judy are off to Alaska on a honeymoon cruise and invite Walt and Maggie to tag along.
Their vacation plans are soon shipwrecked by the murder of two fellow passengers.
The murders appear to be linked to a century-old legend involving a cache of gold stolen from a prospector and buried by two thieves.
Their seven day cruise is spent hunting for the gold and eluding the modern … eluding the modern day thieves intent on possessing it at any cost.
Another nail-biting mystery that will have you on the edge of your seat one minute and laughing out loud the next.

Walt and Ox can’t go anywhere without crossing paths with crime and criminals. Lady Justice is a demanding mistress!
If you’ve been reading this series from the beginning like I have, you know that Walt Williams is the first member the Kansas City Police Department’s City Retiree Action Patrol (C.R.A.P.), and you know that George Wilson, better known as Ox is his patrol partner. They drive Car 54.
In LADY JUSTICE AND THE CRUISE SHIP MURDERS, Walt and Ox trade their patrol car for a cruise ship and head north to Alaska… Ox to honeymoon with his new bride Judy, and Walt and Maggie have been asked to tag along. You guessed it. Murder and mayhem have a way of following this foursome wherever they go.
Along with the usual chaos, there are laughs to be had in another fast read in this series. I continue to marvel at just how much ‘story’ Robert Thornhill manages to cram into each volume. I plan on reading all 43 volumes in this series and recommend that you start at book one and follow along with me.
I just can’t figure out if Walt has good luck or bad. Is he in the right place at the wrong time or visa versa? Why should Ox & Judy have a less exciting honeymoon than Walt and Maggie had? This story was good and had the added benefit of pictures. I enjoyed the pictures and thought that they added that something special.
The side story with John, Mary, Willie & Jerry was funny.
If your a mystery lover this is definitely a fantastic one. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I love mysteries because there like putting a puzzle together. The Author and Narrator has done a fantastic job. There’s twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I definitely recommend this Audio book.

Walt and Ox just can’t get a break! Going on a honeymoon/vacation should be peaceful and so full of fun, but instead they get pulled into another murder investigation that puts them in danger as well. I love the friendship and trust that these two have and the willingness to do whatever it takes for Lady Justice to win.
This review is for the audio book.
I enjoyed this book. It is book eleven in a great series, that in my opinion is still going strong. I like the characters and the way they are work well together, no matter what is happening they have each other’s back. I like the mystery but also the funny side stories to, like a police man that has no problems facing bad guys with a gun but put in him a dancing class and he freezes up.
After getting married in the last book Ox and Judy are going on there honeymoon and are takings Walt and Maggie with them. Before boarding the ship they met a couple with secret plans to go treasure hunting. The problem is that someone else knows about the missing gold and have made plans to take the couple’s place and find it for themselves. After the killing is bungled Walt and Ox decide to play bodyguard for the young couple and follow them every where. After a few near misses the would be killers plot to take out the meddlesome two some, before going after the gold. Back at home the gang have there own story to tell when a killer swears revenge against one of Walt’s closest friends.
I really like George Kuch as a narrator and think he helps make the books so enjoyable.
situational-humor, verbal-humor, vacation, cozy-mystery
Some vacation this turned out to be! After some initial snafus, cops Walt, his partner Ox, and their wives go on an Alaskan cruise and learn many interesting things about cruises. Then there is a double homicide which turns out to be a mistake on the part of the conspirators, and a serious problem back at home. No spoilers here, just go ahead and enjoy!
George Kuch continues to deadpan both the fun and mayhem very delightfully.
Walt Williams, Ox, & their wives are back in this funny murder mystery story that takes place on an Alaska cruise. But not to be left out, the super seniors left behind come up with a scheme to capture a vengeance seeking thug. The storyline is interesting and highly entertaining. The characters are likable and relatable. I highly recommend this series! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
The first one of this series I have read. I then went back and read them in order. 12 so far.
After listening to this book I have decided I might never take a cruise. Very fun story well written and read by George Kuch who does a great job.
