A treasure hunter is murdered and his discovery is stolen. Members of a terrorist cell who have plans for a devastating attack, recognize Sara Savage, a retired CIA operative, kidnap her, and hold her for ransom. And who does Lady Justice send to help private investigator Walt Williams save the day? Clarence the Cat! Walt forms an uneasy alliance with the feline crime fighter to solve the … to solve the mysteries and bring the bad guys to justice.
It’s a laugh a minute as Walt spars with his new furry partner and the forces of evil.

Walt and his muttley crew get involved in yet another adventure. This time Walt and his honey end up with a cat. I loved the interaction between Walt and the cat. Not being a cat person I totally related to his treatment by the cat. This was a cute addition to the story line. Once again George Kuch is the narrator again he is wonderful. I don’t think I could listen to this book read by anyone else. In fact I read this book on my kindle a few months ago and in my head I heard George’s voice 🙂
This review is for the audio book.
I loved this instalment to the Lady Justice series. I am an animal lover and owned a cat or should I say was owned by a cat so I especially enjoyed the introduction of Clarence the cat, it brought back a lot of memories as I found myself chuckling about the same antics my cat did, (how Walt don’t know that cats and water don’t mix I don’t know, hehe.) The story also contained a number of other smaller cases as well, which were just as funny, you just got to love Bernice and John. How the series just better and better is a mystery to me but somehow it does and I would recommend this one.
Maggie is listing a house for a man who has just been murdered and the man’s son wants Maggie and Walt to take care of it, including the dead man’s cat. Rather than have the cat put down Maggie brakes the rules and takes the cat home. The problems is the cat is special and the killers believe the cat will lead them to some stolen money and set about kidnapping the cat. The cat is luckily rescued and finds a forever home with an ex CIA agent only to play a big part in taking down some terrorists.
George kuch is once again excellent at playing Walt and his friends.
Lady Justice and the Cat is my twenty-sixth enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns, one-liners & references to books & songs including the narrator singing. Throughout the book I found myself smiling a lot & at times laughing out loud as I listened to this book with my wife & son who did the same. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Up next is Lady Justice and the Geriatric Gumshoe. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018)
Whispersync, cozy-mystery, private-investigators, pets, friendship, family, murder, humor
I love these books! This one is different in two ways; it is a bit shorter, and the excitement is sequential like a spine rather than twined together. A treasure hunting geologist implanted a device in his cat which helps track the man’s murderers and later a member of Walt’s loose knit family. Walt simply has never been a pet person, but wife Maggie liked the tomcat. Let the fun stuff begin!
If you choose audio, know that the narrations by George Kuch are very adaptable for speed.
Audiobook review: Catscapades, greed, murder, mayhem, mystery, & humor make for an entertaining story to listen to. Great characters and storyline and an equally great narrator provide a great escape for my rainy day weather. As always, Mr. Thornhill’s stories jam packed with action and entertaining lovable and believable seniors!
