Walt has a mysterious box hidden in his safe. He has been told it contains a device that can be either a blessing or a curse to mankind depending on who possess it. A Dr. Skinner comes to Kansas City and convinces Walt that he will use the device for altruistic endeavors. But others covet the device for more clandestine purposes. This review is for the audio book.
I enjoyed this book because it was nice to finally find out what was in the box from the book Lady Justice and the mysterious box. It is not necessary to have read that book but I think it helps you understand and enjoy this book with a bit more understanding, especially everything that Walt went through and why he is so reluctant to let it go in this one. Once again this book is mixed with humour and at the same time with a serious side that gets you thinking.
When Walt comes to the aid of two men he had no idea that it would finally put an end to the mystery behind the mysterious box currently hiding in his home safe. The two men hire him to find a box, not knowing that he already has it. With all the lives the box has already claimed Walt wants to make sure he is not making a mistake handing it over and learns why the box was in such high demand, wanted by five different countries. Knowing the secrets haven’t made the box any less dangerous as governments still want it.
George Kuch does a good job but I didn’t like one of the voices he used for the scientist (it sounded to robotic) so only a four star for this performance but otherwise he brings Walt and his friends to life with style.
Audiobook review: Walt Williams and gang are back. This time the mysterious item Walt stored several books prior is the subject and desire of good and foul. There are several twists and turns in this story. The characters are likable and believable. The narrator did a fantastic job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Lady Justice and Good vs. Evil is my thirty-fourth enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns & one-liners, as always dealing with current social topics, this one being pay-day loans. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Up next is Lady Justice and the Quirky Arlo Quimby. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
My husband and I listened to this audio book on a recent car trip. We found ourselves not wanting to arrive at our destination because we didn’t want to stop listening. Robert Thornhill is a master at writing his Lady Justice series. This book continues the story of Walt Williams and his secret box. My husband had not listened to Lady Justice and the Mysterious Box but had no problems following the storyline. Once again George Kuch is the narrator and he delivers a wonderful story. Thank you Robert and George for a great entertainment.
