She appears only at night. Watching. Waiting… that isn’t enough to go on, and Alex has orders to focus on another case. As if that will stop him.
He stumbles upon something so chilling, it finally provides the proof that he was right all along—the kidnappings are part of an elaborate worldwide scheme. And he and his family have landed on the bad guys’ radar.
Alex will stop at nothing to take down the dangerous criminal empire… if they don’t end him first.

This story has incredible characters, that are very engaging with so many emotions that have to be going through their minds, I look forward to the next book ito learn more about Alex and his family, including his extended ones, and I really wat to know if Agent Kutcher can be trusted, I have mixed feelings about her n the part she plays.
Stacy Claflin grips her readers right from the start again with a sleepover gone wrong and… wait for it… a missing child lured away by a “lady in red”! Talk about non-stop action from start to finish in this 9th installment of the Alex Mercer thriller series! Lady in Red wastes no time and spares no one!

I enjoy how easy it is to get sucked into the world of Officer Alex Mercer and Captain Nick Fleshmen! These two families can never seem to catch a break, much to the reader’s entertainment. Lady in Red leaves a couple of questions unanswered, but these were likely left open to make way for a hopeful tenth book(?)! Rest assured, none of this deters from the overall experience of the story! What I love most about this series is the relatability to its characters; they feel real, the things they say, and the feelings they express feel lifelike. Reading this series is like visiting an old friend once again. Stacy Claflin’s writing pulls you in and makes you feel like you’re a part of the story, exploring what the characters feel as you race through each fast-paced thriller.

This was a heart pounding take your breath away story. A lady in red luring children away and leaving them alive at different places. One common denominator is Ari. The lady in red keeps appearing at her house and school. I don’t want to give too much away but Alex finds himself in trouble as the web of child abductors try to make him pay for involvement in finding these children. I highly recommend. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Wow! Action start to finish as the new lady in town drives Alex bonkers
Loved it! What an adrenaline rush! Danger to the local kids, especially those of Alex Mercer and his BFF boss Police Chief Nick Fleshman, dominates this thriller. The eponymous Lady in Red is unpredictable and Alex just knows in his heart that he is the reason she’s lurking in their small town and luring their children away from home. The suspense and thrills just kept building until the very end. I was so afraid that the story might have to end in a cliffhanger but, no fear, the drama gets resolved in the last moments and a special happy event is waiting in the wings.
I loved the mystery and suspense. Several of the characters act just as they know they shouldn’t and wouldn’t if they were not gripped by fear and anger. That’s something that I love about Claflin’s Alex Mercer series: the characters are realistically flawed, whether a child who ignores a parent’s specific safety instructions or a trained law enforcement officer who goes off and acts on his own. From my armchair I can say “No, don’t do that! Have you lost your mind?!”, but the characters, in the thick of it, act and react in panic: totally realistic And, unlike some mysteries where characters never seem to age or mature, the characters in this series struggle, make mistakes, claw their way forward and move on. Can’t wait for the next book.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
A mysterious Lady in Red is showing near Alex’s family and some kids are been kidnapped but released soon after. Alex suspects it has to be related with the kidnapping ring in the dark web. Will he prove it before his family will be in danger again? A gripping mystery story.
