Thirty years after she first heard his voice singing on the jukebox at her local drive-in, Barbara Ann Blakely heard Frank Sinatra take the wedding vows that began his fourth, final, and most enduring marriage.
In Lady Blue Eyes, Barbara Sinatra’s first public love letter to the husband she adored, she celebrates the sensational singer, possessive mate, sexy heartthrob, and devoted friend that … devoted friend that she found in Frank. For more than two decades, Barbara was always by his side, traveling the globe and hosting glittering events for their famous friends, including presidents, kings, queens, Hollywood royalty, and musical legends. Among them were Sammy Davis, Jr., Princess Grace of Monaco, Bob Dylan, and Ronald Reagan. Each night, as Frank publicly wooed his bride with love songs from a concert stage, she’d fall in love with him all over again.
From her own humble beginnings in a small town in Missouri to her time as a fashion model and her marriage to Zeppo Marx, Barbara Sinatra reveals a life lived with passion, conviction, and grace. A founder of the Miss Universe pageant and a onetime Vegas showgirl, she raised her only son almost single-handedly in often dire circumstances until, after five years of tempestuous courtship, she and Frank committed to each other wholeheartedly. In stories that leap off the page, she takes us behind the scenes of her iconic husband’s legendary career and paints an intimate portrait of a man who was variously generous, jealous, witty, and wicked. Coupled with revealing insights about many of Frank’s celebrated songs, this is much more than the story of a showbiz marriage.
It is a story of passion and of a deep and lifelong love.

Interesting insights into Frank Sinatra
Learned more about this legend from his friends and his wife than I did from the news media. Frank was a magnanimous man and extremely loyal to his friends.
Enjoyed very much reading the story of an entertainment icon. There will never be a other “Blue eyes” with such heart for others.
Because I am interested in American music and the singers who brought the classic songs to life I enjoy reading books like this one, which provides an insider’s understanding of life with Frank Sinatra.
As a lifelong fan, this biography of Frank’s life was a very interesting read. It was nice to find that he could be so kind to even strangers and thoughtful and caring to even ex-wives. It was good to know his loyalty to friends and family continued to the end of his days. His wife wrote a lovely book about a very human man, who was also one of …
I liked this book a lot. Frank Sinatra was and is still one of my favorite singers but I was unaware of what an interesting life he led and so many awards he received.
He really was very compassionate with friends and people he did not know. He found the love of his life late in his life and found real happiness with her. I enjoyed it a lot.
Who could have told a better story than his wife and the time she spent with him, also she didn’t hold and didn’t make him a saint.
If you like reading about celebrities, this is an interesting book about Frank Sinatra. He lived a colorful life with friends that were politicians (Robert and Jack Kennedy, along with some mafia guys) and movie stars (Marilyn Monroe, Mia Farrow, Lauren Becall, Humphrey Bogart ).
Just an average biography. Mostly about Barbara Sinatra. I really wanted to read more about Frank. Barbara writes this book like she’s the celebrity.
A wonderful look into Barbara & Frank Sinatra’s life over a 24 yr period. Really enjoyed it.
Great story if you loved Frank Sinatra.
So-so. A big Sinatra fan would probably find it interesting.
This is such an insight into the real Frank Sinatra and his generosity and love for Barbara. Loved it.
I think she did a good job on his biography. It seems like most of her life with Frank Sinatra was parties and charity events, but it did talk about a lot of people that he knew all over the world.
Good for the first half, then degenerates into social climbing,
Interesting story about Frank Sinatra and his wife
As expected, this book glosses over many of Frank Sinatra’s imperfections and portrays Barbara as a loving, if forebearing wife.
Anyone interested in Frank Sinatra should read this. It was nice to learn about Barbara and hear her perspective on her time with Frank. She lived a colorful life. I enjoyed this read very much.
Interesting information not sure how much is true but it was a good read.
The title of the book should have been changed, in my opinion. I’ve read many books about Frank Sinatra and was curious about his fourth wife, Barbara Marx. The more I learned about her interesting life, her early modeling career, her school for aspiring models, her life as a Vegas showgirl, her marriages and her devotion to her only son, the more …
