A Reverse Harem Risqué RomanceAnd now, dear Diary, I shall confess something quite dreadfully shocking. For the first time in my life, I felt a gentleman’s hands assisting me in removing my clothing.Yes, I shall surely be condemned to an eternity of agony for such a transgression, but I had no one else to ask. Giles brought hot water to my chamber and found me struggling with the tapes of my … with the tapes of my gown. He was all that was proper and polite, and had me unlaced in a trice, which was very helpful.
My blushes must have added their own warmth to the room, but given his kindness and his attentions to me, I was not unduly overset.
Lady Adalyn Wilkerson’s Diary, Wolfbridge Manor, January 1817
A birthday, a marriage and a funeral—twenty-year-old Adalyn has experienced them all in the space of a fortnight. The widowed Lady Wilkerson is lost, homeless and helpless as she stands next to her late husband’s grave, until an elegant gentleman introduces himself as her new butler, takes her to Wolfbridge Manor—and her life changes forever.
She finds herself mistress of a tidy estate, run by the most amazing men she’s ever set eyes on. Their attentions teach her about loyalty, affection, caring and devotion, and stimulate the dawning of her sensuality.
Unfortunately, not even her skilled and loving gentlemen can keep trouble from the door, and Adalyn is going to need all the courage she possesses to protect Wolfbridge and its residents. But protect them she will, if it takes every ounce of her strength. Others might have hesitated, but the men of Wolfbridge have taught her well – she isn’t just a mere cypher in a bonnet, she is their Lady Adalyn.
This is the first novel in The Saga of Wolfbridge Manor. The story will continue in Book 2.

I have read several books from this author – with her style of writing and story telling she is able to bring you into the world of the story she is telling. Lady Adalyn finds herself in a situation of being a Widow and not knowing where to turn or to go. She finds a world that she didn’t know existed nor knew she would become a part of. Finding out that she is the new Mistress to Wolfbridge Mannor her eyes are opened to a new world. There are 5 men of the mannor which are all employees and they are there to take care of her every need. Lady Adalyn though shy and quiet grows into a woman who is self confident and able to stand strong and will do anything to protect the Mannor and the men who work there. The charactors are well written and the story well developed. Must warn you this is a CLIFF HANGER!!! Be on the look out for more of Lady Adalyn and her men of Wolfbridge Mannor.
Now, normally this would not be a genre I choose to read but I am glad for once that I did. Reverse Harem mixed with a Regency romance is an unusual mix but in this case, it most certainly paid off. The story was told really well and the characters were engaging to get to know. This was well worth a read and my only criticism is that the balance didn’t quite seem even. This, however, was not enough to deter me from reading this novel.
Legacy of love
Lady Adalyn Wilkerson was married at barely twenty. Two weeks later she’s widowed, abandoned, and destitute. Her bruises are the most lasting gift her geriatric husband has given her. When she turns from his grave, she’s got nowhere to go – un till a gentleman introduces himself as her new butler, and whisks her away in a carriage to Wolfbridge Manor. She’s been given an anonymous bequest, and the opportunity of a lifetime. Wolfbridge Manor is a refuge, a place for her to heal and grow, as well as embrace all aspects of her gown-woman self. Protected by a legacy, tutored and supported by four of the most attractive and devoted men who ever served a noblewoman, a frightened girl becomes the woman she was meant to be – with a little help from the hired help. Sexy, steamy regency reverse harem that will fire your imagination, and heat up some other parts as well. Decadently good reading!
What a surprise! A Regency reverse harem! An enthralling story that I read eagerly! After being abused all her life, a sudden change in her fate brought Adalyn to Wolfbridge Manor, her Gentlemen and a growing path of hope and love. Enjoyed how Adalyn grew in character and strength allowing to take charge of her role as the Lady of the Manor. With a neglected and no longer naive young woman awakening to passion, the story flows with suspense, romance and intense situations that intrigued me. Each character had his mystery and looks like we will enjoy lot more of the ladies of the Manor.
Although her situation seems dire, I think Lady Adalyn hits the jackpot with Wolfbridge. Her story is an enticing one and I loved it. I went from wondering if, to surely not, to go for it! Lol. I also love the concept of Wolfbridge and how it gives hope to the occupants and helps Adalyn learn how to be the lady of the house. I am voluntarily reviewing a read copy and I can’t wait to read the next story in this saga.
Definitely different…Really enjoyed it.
Was swept away to another place and time. This author truly has a feel for the regency era and adding a reverse harem angle was unique and drew me in. The characters came to life in this well written tale that left me wanting more to see what the future holds. While the story was complete, the reader is tantalized with some unresolved issues; and I can’t wait for the saga to continue. Through words alone, I could feel, smell, and almost experience what it was like in this time period. I particularly liked the diary entries, as I felt like I was sharing secrets that were meant for no other eyes but Lady Adalyn’s. Was sorry to turn the last page and return to reality.
Just the right dose of strangeness and lots of steamy romance. Set in historical time but the characters are anything but. You won’t be able to out it down.
This book went on & on & on till it didn’t. The story just ended, to be continued in the next book. I do not like stories like this. It doesn’t matter how good the story may have been, I want a final ending. I won’t buy the next book & probably won’t read any more from this author.
This is the first book by this author and it was a good read. The author did a great job of sticking with the regency era and providing a story of a reverse harem fit for that time in history. The characters are nice and easy to follow and like. The story just seems to end in the middle of the story line, not so much as a cliffhanger but more of like ok I’m bored with writing so I will just stop here and start a new book to continue the story later. I enjoyed the book and story so far, just not sure if I will pick up and continue when the next book is done.
Not my usual genre, I still found myself immersed in this tale. Alone following her husbands death, Adalyn finds herself the Lady of Wolfbridge Manor, with all that entails, including a houseful of male servants. This is definitely worth taking the journey of self-discovery with Lady Adalyn and her boys, where she finds courage, confidence and a little love. Kudos to Sahara for engaging me in a story I would ordinarily wave off.
