I’ll take Tahoe Roth over Malcolm Saint any day of the week after reading this book.
Holy hell Tahoe Roth drips sex appeal and the definition of hot as hell. He is seduction personified. I think I’m getting carried away. So you get the point.
This book shows Tahoe in a whole new light and you will seriously fall in love with him. He is a great friend to Gina, he’s always there for her and doing things for her. He tries to help her in every way to see the person she truly is and to start being that person. Tahoe made this book. I loved this book way more than Rachel and Malcolms story.
Okay, so it took me forever to get to this book which was a huge bummer. I could remember how pumped up I was when I heard Tahoe and Gina was actually going to have their own book. Since reading Manwhore, these two have already got me hooked and intrigued with the little snippets we got. And knowing how much of a MANWHORE and LADIES MAN Tahoe “T-Rex” Roth is, I knew deep down, their story will be an interesting helluva ride…
Don’t get me wrong, I love Katy Evans. I do. I’ve read almost every single one of the books she has released and loved them all. But the entire time, I felt like there’s something in this book that was missing, though I can’t exactly pinpoint what… And it frustrated the hell out of me, to say the least. I still can’t decipher if it’s a good frustrated or a bad frustrated at the moment.
I liked the friendship that Tahoe Roth and Regina “Gina” Wylde developed around each other. You’d think with that undeniable lust and crackling tension brewing between them, a good friendship would be impossible to have. Like they wouldn’t be able to keep their hand to themselves.
Tahoe knows how bad he is for Gina, how she deserves more than whatever he can give her. And he’s so averted to relationships, thus all the one-night stands. All Gina wants is to be loved and cherished. To belong to someone. To have a relationship with so much tenderness and passion and one that lasts forever. She was always the one being rejected or left behind and it’s made her lonelier than ever, especially with seeing her friends so happy and in love. With the friendship that she was able to build with Tahoe, she finds how easy it could be with him. To be around him. And though she knows deep down that they can never happen, sometimes she still has that sliver of hope that maybe, just maybe, Tahoe can be the one to finally love her for real.
I hate how Gina has always felt like she’s never good enough, like she has to change herself just for a guy to like her or be into her. But sometimes she gets too needy and that kinda bothered me. Although I did feel for her every time she had the urge to hide behind her mask. I felt her pain every time she finds Tahoe with a woman and that’s a huge smack to her face and stab to the heart. It gave her more reasons to think why all those girls are good for him, but not her—never her. And with what she went through in her past relationship with Paul, which was already devastating and shitty as hell, all that heartache—that smack and stab—seems like it’s a hundred times more magnified. More soul crushing.
I understand that Tahoe got his heart shattered with his past relationship which drove him to being the biggest, most gorgeous ladies man there is. The reason behind it all was indeed a shock to me. One I didn’t see coming. But the way he kept pushing Gina away became a bit too much, almost to the point that I can’t stand it anymore. The back and forth, no I can’t have you, you can’t have me stretched a little too long. The deeper you get into the story, you’d definitely feel more and more that he cares for her, that he’s starting to fall for her too, yet he’s always holding back. Those times seriously made me want to pull my hair out or bang my head to my desk, really. Although I completely agree with how sexy and alluring this man is. With a hot body and gorgeous ass, a mouth that’s sexy as sin and those dimples? Hoo boy, who wouldn’t want a piece of that?
These two were more similar in what they went through in terms of relationships than I thought. And when you get burned that bad, when you lose trust in love itself? That’s really difficult to rebuild. So to put two people who suffered almost the same thing, you’d get the fears they have buried deep down. Tahoe and Gina’s story was good and explosively hot. Though I guess I expected more from it. Or maybe I just didn’t feel the narrator of the audiobook version? I’m hoping that Callan and Olivia’s book, Womanizer, will be better than this. *That* I’m looking forward to. Especially with Livvy being Tahoe’s sister? Yup, certainly want to see how that unfolds.
From the beginning you know your on a journey. If you’ve ready previous books you know the hero is interested but your not quite sure what to make of him. I was just rooting for the heroine to find herself and discover her inner beauty. I feel like her story could definitely go on. In the end their inevitable relationship was satisfying.
Dare I say, KATY EVANS HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!! As an avid fan of Mrs.Evans, I tend to set my expectations higher for her books because I truly believe she can meet those expectations and EVERY TIME she goes above and beyond. And let me tell you, LADIE’S MAN WAS NO DIFFERENT! THIS is the reason I come back to her books again and again and AGAIN. She writes the most breath-takingly beautiful stories that consume our hearts, minds and souls MANY days after finishing the book. Plain and simple, she makes it impossible to not love her books. And like I said, LADIE’S MAN was no different and I, a mother of 3 now, was 9 mths pregnant, chasing after 2 toddlers and once this story about a bad boy named Tahoe and a succulent leading lady named Gina landed on my kindle, I found it impossible to put down, so I didn’t! I lived this book, I BREATHED it in from page 1 to the very last page and I loved EVERY MINUTE OF IT! And I know you will too!
“When he lifts his head, his eyes are lightning, thunder and blue, blue rain.” I’m a huge fan of the spring time because that means thunder & lightning storms are coming, and for me, reading LADIE’S MAN was like watching an impending thunderstorm arrive…just wondrous in its nature. The atmosphere changes…the air changes, the temperature changes. Everything changes as it gets closer and closer to you. Whether you can actually see these changes or not, you can feel them deep down inside and just know that something wonderful is about happen. The very molecules in our being become attune to those changes. It’s a gradual thing, it’s organic, and it’s beautiful. And just like storms, Tahoe and Regina’s (aka Gina) relationship formed in much the same way. It was slow to form, but when it happened, it was impossible to stop. *lightning strikes*
Katy Evans wrote a “friends to lovers” novel like no other. It was completely unique it’s nature and wasn’t your typical “wham-bam, thank you ma’am” kind of story. Everything about Tahoe and Gina’s budding relationship was natural and unforced. To me, Tahoe and Gina were reflections of each other. They put on their “masks” for the outside world to see, but no matter what, their true characters and inner beings were always visible to each other…no matter how much Gina used her make-up to cover herself up or how much Tahoe used his “ladie’s man” persona to hide his true self, they knew each other. “Tahoe has never bought into the image I put out, and I don’t understand why—even before we became friends, he seemed to see right through me. A part of me has also always understood that the person the world sees—the lazy, laughing, easy-going Tahoe—is a front for a far deeper, more complex man beneath.” –Gina. It was lovely reading about their characters “shedding” their masks throughout the book.
I also LOVED how relatable Gina’s character was. I could see bits and pieces of myself in her…all her self-doubts and insecurities are very much my own at times and I suspect that other females have also experienced these uncertainties in life. Being able to connect with her character like that, made her character and her story that much more powerful and it made me love her THAT much more. “Beneath the makeup and behind the smile, I am just a girl who wishes for the world.” –Gina.
This book was like a slow burn. The s*xual tension and anticipation between Tahoe and Gina was one of my favorite aspects. Like I mentioned above, this book wasn’t about s*x, s*x, s*x…it was more about building an everlasting bond between two friends. The whole book was one big build up….foreplay in a sense. *wink* Loaded with subtle glances that represented longing and possessiveness. Packed with constant electricity, hope and wonder between them that had the reading rooting for them to take the next step! Their playful banter and insta-friendship was another element that made this book that much more lovable.
To sum up my thoughts: the storyline/plot was WONDERFULLY UNIQUE, the characters (all of them) were REMARKABLE and MEMORABLE, and the writing style INCREDIBLE. All in all, LADIE’S MAN was EVERYTHING I was hoping for and then some!
This book can be considered a stand-alone, but I would HIGHLY recommend you read the other books in the series first (MANWH*RE, MANWH*RE +1, and MS.MANWH*RE)! It will be TOTALLY worth your time <3
5+ Lightning Strikes Stars
“We all hide little pieces of ourselves.”
Nobody writes like Katy Evans. She somehow describes every thought and emotion in such a way that I think and feel them right along with the characters. I get sucked in from the first page and don’t come up for air until the last. And then I feel a combination of satisfied, like I just ate some chocolate, and sad, because it’s over. Every book is a delicious distraction from the ‘real world’ and as soon as I finish, I’m yearning for the next one.
The title, Ladies Man, refers to Tahoe Roth. If you’ve read the other books in the Manwhore series, you’ll recognize him as Saint’s best friend. He’s tall, blonde, blue-eyed and sexy as sin. He’s also very successful and is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Gina.
Regina is Rachel’s best friend, and former roommate. Due to the fact of that close relationship, she is constantly thrown into contact with Tahoe. Their best-friends are a couple, so they have to get along, right? It would be awkward at get-togethers if they ever gave into their attraction for each other. Tahoe doesn’t do relationships, and facing him after would totally suck, especially if she had to see him with the next woman in line, right? So, even though she knows that if she gave in, it would be the best night of her life…it’s a “Rotund, no.” But that doesn’t stop her from being his friend. Though their chemistry makes it difficult to be in the same room together, they can’t stay away from each other either. Hell, their chemistry made it difficult for me. I was in a constant state of “Pass the Kleenex myself, for more than one reason (wink-wink).
While part of a series, Ladies Man can be read as a standalone. Characters from the previous books are mentioned, but not in a way that leaves you left out. Tahoe and Gina’s story is a hair-pullingly gradual buildup of sexual tension that will have you reading one-handed. What? I meant that you’d be wiping the sweat off of your brow. What did you think I was referring to? Well, that too. I can’t wait to get my hands on Callan Carmicchael. Well, I mean his book, which is what’s coming out next in the Manwhore series. The line forms here…
My heart ached a lot in this book for both Tahoe and Gina. This slow burn book was scorching by the end and I couldn’t put it down! I loved every second of it. I got mad quite a few times at Tahoe but his charm definitely wooed me and he made up for it. I’m so glad they both dropped their masks for each other.
Can’t get enough of Tahoe Roth! Finished in one night!
I read this book in one night! I couldn’t put it down. Tahoe and Gina’s story was just perfect! I loved that this took place over a year…I enjoyed the way the characters came to realize their feelings for each other were more. It had a turn I wasn’t expecting with regards to Tahoe’s life and I liked that part too. I really loved that I was also able to hear about Saint and Rachel and their lives. I could have another whole book just on Tahoe! Please, Please give us more Tahoe and Gina! 5 Stars for Katie Evans!! I don’t know if I can wait another year for a new book in the Manwhore series! L-O-V-E!
I’m a huge fan of Katy’s work but Ladies Man was a big disappointment. It started out with potential when Gina offers herself to Tahoe on his birthday but is turned down. Their story was just about Gina and her day to day life. I felt nothing between them so when they say I love you it’s not believable. BFF’s?! Really?! Short conversations, sporadic encounters. Nope. Nothing. Tahoe’s hiding the reason he is a “ladies man” for most of the book and then it’s explained in a few quick sentences. Even the ending was blah. Their not together, not together, not together, together and it’s over. Hoping Callan’s book is way better.
Tahoe Roth truly was a ladies man but behind his sexy and charming exterior hid a vulnerable man with a secret. I really enjoyed Ladies Man and I didn’t really know what to expect from Tahoe other than a man who loved women and sex. I was spot on when it came to that part but Tahoe’s relationship with Gina or Regina as he called her was something I wasn’t prepared for.
Their friendship and relationship was unique in the sense, that Gina rarely hid something from Tahoe and called him when she needed his advice or just his presence. Tahoe was loyal and showed up when needed and they were honest with each other. Their chemistry and attraction was obvious but because of different needs they didn’t act on it. I had to pull my frustration back a few times because I just wanted them to give in to their needs. To say screw it and jump each other’s bones. The sexual tension was too much at times but written with such an ease. I ate Kate Evans’ words right up. I thought their back and forth with one another carried on a little too long but if I had to see an upside to it, it did strengthen their feelings towards each other and made them fall in love.
Gina was great character. She felt so real and so did her issues she was dealing with. She been through a rough break up and that shaped who she was. I enjoyed her friendship with Rachel and Wynn. They were such a huge part of Gina and there for one another.
Tahoe was kind, intoxicating and sexy as hell. I was so curious about him because he didn’t reveal much about himself. Only he was a rich blond bombshell who liked women and also had experienced some kind of loss to make him the way he was. Thankfully Gina was lucky to break through his walls as Tahoe was with hers.
Ladies Man was a perfect romance. Every character from the Manwhore series appeared and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Katy Evans writes with such an ease and always makes me connect with the characters. It feels so effortless on her part and also why I’m a huge fan of hers. Next stop in this amazing series is the mysterious Callan Carmichael and I’m really intrigued to know his story.

Tahoe is a Sexy Beast
5 freaking fantastic stars for this book. I devoured this book in one sitting and am so ready to do a reread. Tahoe Roth is my man, I never thought that someone could ever come close to Remington Tate but oh lordy does Tahoe ever, I have them in a tie. Katy just keeps do Ing it over and over again with these masterpieces that suck you in and eat you up from the very first page to the last page. I love her books and her characters. They are always so well developed and you feel like you know these people. I cannot express enough how I loved this book. If you haven’t read any of her books where have you been and you need to remedy that asap. I highly recommend this and any of her other books.
I’m doing a 3.5 “It took forever” stars on this one.
Cheese and rice it took Gina and Tahoe forever to get together! Like, foooorrreeevvvveeeerrrr! I was kind of wishy-washy about Gina in Manwhore. She drove me up a wall a wee bit in that book. But now that it’s her and Tahoe’s book, she still kind of drove me up a wall. There was a part or two that kind of dragged on. I think I only thought that because it took, wait for it….foooorrreeevvvveeeerrrr for them to finally hook up and finally admit they love each other. I was all, this is it. Nope. Then I was like, here it is, finally…just kidding. Nope. That happened throughout 85% of the book. I’d say out of all of the books in the series, this is one just didn’t do a lot for me. I did really like that everyone else was in the story, so there is that. I’m moving on to the next book. Bring on Callan!
