Introductory price $2.99Someone is murdering the retired ladies of the lunch club. Jack McCall, ably assisted by Nora Burke and Max Logan, is hired by the governor—the brother of one of the victims. At the start it seems a cushy job: Nice weather, good pay, and an attractive Florida State cop is assigned to assist Jack. But, in typical Jack McCall fashion, this murder case quickly turns screwy. … turns screwy.

Nice cozy lil read at bedtime!
This is a great read in the Matt McCall mysteries. It will hold you spell bound and reading late into the night. I could not figure out who did it until the end. Wow, caught me in total surprise. The main characters are fantastic and I am excited to read more Jack McCall mysteries. David Bishop is an amazing writer.
Couldn’t put it down – read it in two nights!
Mindless reading, pleasure.
really enjoyed the characters – lots of fun with a bit of a surprise at the end.
Really enjoyed this book…read it, it’s worth it.
I couldn’t get past all the inappropriate joking and sexual innuendo to find out if there was an actual story. I returned the book four chapters in.
i believe the male characters were too into objectiying women so, in that sense, i found it hard to read. the story itself was interesting enough.
Interesting characters keep you reading. See if you can figure out who is the culprit!
crass and filled with sexual innuendo
I hoped to enjoy some charming interaction with a Ladies’ Lunch Club. Instead there were a few individual interviews but the fact that there was a Ladies’ Lunch Club seemed peripheral to the book. It wasn’t dreadful but it also was not a great read. The murders didn’t really make sense.
I thought that it was a little slow in developing the plot.
Not one of my favorites.
I thought the story was good but the sexual banter was awkward and not believable.
Quick, easy read.
The story setup is good, twisted, multi-threaded and keeping readers interested. It ends here. The story is not well developed, shallow, hurried and ridiculous. Some threads are disgusting. A 72 year old lady who had a son with her boss on her first job out of school, her son being called ‘boy’ repeatedly in the book. The ‘boy’ must be close to 50s. Another mid-70 year old lady slept with this so called ‘boy’, saying she regarding the ‘boy’ as her own son. What a joke it is! All most all the main male characters in this book, one way or another, slept with the killer women. What a man! Besides, this book needs a good editing and proof reading. “ appears where it is not needed. There are no verbs in some phrases. In some places, the author messes up characters’ names.
Great story! All the profanity ruined it for me though.
A different approach to solving crimes – kept me guessing.
a fun read
I just couldn’t get into the story. I gave up after chapter three
Good story. Kept my interest and was very enjoyable. The only thing I didn’t like was in the very beginning, there were some very trite phrases used and non-funny sayings. It got much better later on in the book and these terribly trite phrases were dropped. I almost stopped reading at the beginning with the awful first part. However, I am glad I continued because it was a very good crime fiction book and I would recommend it. That was why I gave it 5 stars.
