The only good my parents gave me is my name, Hercules.I turned zero possibility into firefighting hero. Now life’s pretty simple. After all, with classic good looks,I’m one of Farawayville’s most eligible bachelors. But when a sassy little ER nurse enters my life, everything gets a lot more complicated. My new goal? To get into her heart, and her pants. She challenges me with 12, yes 12, labors to … pants.
She challenges me with 12, yes 12, labors to prove I’m worthy of her time.
The quest of a lifetime, for one freaking date seems ridiculous.
But one look in those eyes, and I’m all in, and hellbent in turning one date into forever.
*Inspired by Hercules

Weird, funny, scary and sexy.
My only complaint is the over descriptive wording that the author did everytime the female lead Meghan saw the male lead Les. I felt like I was reading a romance novel from when I was a teenager. I skipped over a lot of the constant gushing she did over him and that before they were even together.
This story revolves around Meghan Creon and Hercules Galen. They’re better known as Meg and Les. She’s a nurse and he’s a fire fighter, first responder and construction builder. When his best friend Kai Modo who is the Chief of Police gets hurt then Les also become a part time police officer. Meg’s best friend is Essie. Both these women are beautiful, but Essie is rich and hot and a Latino sexpot woman. Meg herself is a hottie though she doesn’t believe it. There are so many laughable parts in this story. Then you get the sad stories too. Meg’s ex-boyfriend appears at the bar their at. He is Dr. Peter Panah and then he wraps his arms around Meg while Essie is cussing Spanish outloud at him. Then Les comes up to push him away. Peter says that Meg needs to come home to Chicago. She starts shouting about all the physical abuse he has done to her, her miscarriage when he kicked her belly causing her to fall down the stairs. He left her laying there bleeding until a neighbor found her. That really set off Les. He demanded that Peter leave and Peter said she’s not worth it. You know that is not over, but he does get his just rewards later in the story. You also read the funny way how they get Kai to take physical therapy. The Les has 12 labors that he has to get thru before Meg will date him. Too funny on those. Then the weirdness at Aesop’s Stables. You just have to read this book to believe it.

This was a silly but fun read. This is a standalone book. I’ve never read anything by this author before, so this was an amusing read. The character names were just too much, as well as the town names.
Meg and Les get a lovely chance at love after heartbreak in this crazy fairy tale story. I enjoyed that main theme and how they dated to get to know each other. They both had lots of history to overcome and deal with to make their fairy tale a reality.
Meg is a nurse who has started over in a new place, with her trusty best friend. I loved how Meg just happened to have a fantastic college roommate who just happened to be loaded, which makes a lot of decisions/events possible. But Meg is a great nurse, and a good friend, and loves her new town. We don’t find out for quite a while why she’s hesitant to date. Les is the hunky firefighter that has the women in town falling all over his Fabio good looks. He too has a bad taste for relationships, but hasn’t had to work for a women’s affections in a while. And in addition to being a fireman, he’s an EMT, and deputy police officer. The way Meg has Les doing these trials is laughable at first; but they turn into dates where they get to know each other better…so it turns out okay. And of course our trusty hero tries to rescue the damsel in distress, despite her being a force to be reckoned with.
Les turns Megs head at their first encounter. And then it all turns south for poor Les, and he suffers her wrath for quite a while. But despite Meg’s desire to stay away, Les pulls her in. And their chemistry sizzles even in their fairy tale world.
Oh man, the character names in this book are hilarious. Too the point that it’s trite. And while all the Disney names make you smile, there is an underlying story of two people working out how to be their best self, and deal with their past and present. The author did that in surprising ways. The plot was fast paced with some fun twists mixed in.
I thought this was a well written book, with a lot of creativity on the author’s part. Underneath the sickly sweet fairy tale names and subtle hints to their Disney stories lies a deep and loving story of two people and their friends surviving some crappy circumstances. It made me smile and giggle quite a bit. And while I liked it, I’m not sure I want to read too much more.

This story is hilarious. What this poor man has to put up with to get a date with Meghan is unbelievable. Yet, through man-eating mallards, pig chasing, and whatever else he had to endure. I laughed all the way to the happy ending.
This is a good read. It took me a little bit to get into it but once I got into it I was hooked. Hercules (Les) is a fire fighter. He’s sexy and one of Farawayville’s most eligible bachelors. On a routine work call Les’ friend gets hurt. Les meets ER nurse Meghan (Meg). I loved Meg. Meg is sassy and funny. Their relationship develops slowly and in a funny way. This one is fun read.
I love these books! I absolutely love the way the author uses the fairytale characters names, but puts a little twist on them. I also can’t believe I’m about to admit this, (seriously it took me until the end of the book to be like…ohhhh!! DUH!!) I got the whole Esmeralda thing, but Kai Z. Modo… hahaha I’m such an idiot, I’m usually pretty quick, when that finally clicked I was cracking up. Very clever.
I loved Les and Meg and that damn Pegasus. Seriously fun fairytale remake. We even get an evil Pan, and Dr. Laddin, and all those other fun characters I absolutely adore. This is definitely a sweet romantic comedy with a bit of magic sprinkled in, and of course we get that drama like all fairytales have, and then my HEA. Oh! And this was a slowburn like a mother trucker!! I still haven’t read the first book, but when I do, I know I will absolutely love it as much as these last two I read. Loving this author and can’t wait to read more of this good stuff!

This is the third book in Billie Dale’s FairyTale Fantasy Series. Each book in the series is a stand-alone romantic comedy with slap stick humor and “holy moly craziness”. With that kind of introduction to the series, I could not resist reading this book even though it is not my typical genre. Oh wait, there are hot public servants (a cop and a fireman) so it does fit my typical genre.
This book inspired by Hercules so let’s review Greek mythology for a minute. Hercules was the son of Zeus, king of gods, and the mortal Alcmene which makes him a demi-god with incredible strength and stamina. Hera, the wife of Zeus, knew of his illegitimate son, Hercules, and sought to destroy him from the very moment of his birth. At one point, Hera caused Hercules to go mad and kill his own children. In order to atone for his sins, Hercules had to complete twelve labors. What we need to remember about Hercules is that he is an example of how everyone, including demi-gods, can conquer the troubles and seemingly impossible tasks that they are faced with. Enough of the mythology lesson, let’s talk about the book.
Megan is a sassy, smart mouthed nurse who rotates between Dr. Laddin’s office and the ER. She once dreamed of becoming a doctor but a life full of fear and hurt changed her dreams and sent Megan and her best friend running to Farawayville. While working in the ER one night, Megan came face to face with the love child of The Rock and Thor, Hercules “Les” Galen, whose best friend and chief of police has been shot. Les is the fire chief, one of two first responders, and a backup police officer. Yep, you guessed it Farawayville is a small town. Les knows that Megan is different from the first time their eyes met and there is an unfamiliar twist in his stomach. The problem is, Les’s cheesy pick-up lines and flirty attitude seemingly have no impact on Megan, if he only knew that his voice alone melts Megan’s brain like butter on pancakes. When he finally asks for one date, Megan tells Les that he must live up to the myth of Hercules and complete her own twelve labors in order to prove that he is worthy of her.
So far, it doesn’t sound like a fairytale. The main storyline is a typical contemporary romance complete with its twists and turns. You find the fairytale part in minor things….a store named Geppetto’s Strings, a character named Pinocchio Geppetto who is in jail for lying and stealing, a construction company named Royal Princeps, Dr. Al Laddin, and an older receptionist named Mrs. Ridinghood just to name a few. It is when Megan and Les start volunteering at Aesop’s Stables that we meet the fairytale animals…Ms. Piggy, Kermit, Pegasus, Ferdinand, and Bambi.
I really enjoyed this book. I laughed at the crazy stunts and I cried when Megan’s past showed up in Farawayville. Billie Dale has written a great contemporary romance mixed in with some of our favorite childhood fairytale characters. I give Labors of a Hero 4 out of 5 propellers. Buy it today! You will not regret it!
He is good looking and is able to get whatever he wants when he wants it. Then she appears and he wants a date with her. She tells him he has to work for it just like Hercules. She gives him 12 things he must do. Will he do them? Will he be able to complete them? See if they are worth it

Billie Dale has made my night. I love the characters and their laugh out loud banter. This story has so many twists and turns throughout it. There is drama, suspense, and some hot romance. Les and Meg have this chemistry between them that just doesn’t stop. The antics that Meg pulls will have you just shaking your head because at times it is so funny. I love the twists on the fairy tales. It just makes it o different but oh so good. This is definitely worth reading and it will not disappoint.

If you need a feel good read that will have you laughing out loud, this story is for you. There is plenty of witty banter and funny references. One of my favorite scenes was the breakfast in bed proposal( you’ll have to read to find out why). Now I need to go back and read “Never After”.

Very well written must read. This is so funny, emotional, surprising, suspenseful and so much more. What he has to go through for a date. He thinks it is worth it as he sees more there than just a date. The other characters and the story is so funny and enjoyable. I definitely recommend this. I had read “Not So Wicked” by this author and love loved that book, this one I like loved. The beginning of the book was a bit slow for me, once the kids and animals came in then the story picked up momentum and the hilarity ensued.
Les/Hercules is a fire fighter, town volunteer, best friend to Kai Z Modo. Les is a hottie that makes all the ladies in town do everything in their power to ogle and touch his hot bod.
Meghan works as a nurse in the ER and she’s a feisty very interested but not going to follow the path of the other ladies in town and does not give into her body’s demands that she gets horizontal with Les.
What started off as a joke to Meghan as a way to keep Les at arms length ends up endearing the big guy to her despite her best intent.
This is not an insta love thing they do get to know each other along the way and when they do finally get physical sparks fly.
Les may look like a walking dream and he may project that he is a tomcat in reality he’s more discreet than people think. Once he has set his sights on Meg even though his original thought was bed her and then move on along the way he got caught in his own web.
Meg has a past that she’s kept secret from those in town and when it comes back rearing its ugly head will she be able to maintain all she has gained or allow what she was to take a hold of her again?
I love that this author writes strong women with big caring hearts. The male lead once he commits he’s all in no other woman catches his attention. This story unlike the other one didn’t pull me in as quickly and the laughs and snorts weren’t as many as my first read from this author. I also notice that the best friends start out strong and then become almost non-existent as the story progresses they almost get left by the wayside and become shadows of themselves.
While I loved how their lives seem to be imitating the original deeds that Hercules had to perform and the hilarity that ensued, I didn’t love Meg’s backstory. For some reason it just didn’t ring true with the character and some of the choices she made once it came to light just didn’t make any sense.
For me that’s where the like love of the story happened plus the slow start just made things take a while for me to get on board and cheer for their HEA.
