Kyle Smith couldn’t say no. Not when the beautiful woman with haunted eyes asked him and his teammate to escort her to a remote island to save a bunch of children. Her plan was crazy. The island was overrun with rebels and the unrest was at an all-time high. There was no stopping the woman, she was resolute and Kyle was just as determined to keep her safe. His personal life was in turmoil, his team at war from with a high-power criminal syndicate. He had no business falling in love—but was helpless against her bravery and strength. I so love Ms. Edwards books, they grip you from page one and suck you in. It’s an awesome ride. Every time I read one of Ms. Riley’s books, it makes me want to start all over at the beginning of each series to get to know all the characters again. I love the plane chapter where Kyle is reading Defending Allye by Susan Stoker, fabulous, just fabulous.
This book is filled with twists and turns galore, new and old enemies appear. I love the interaction with Z Corps and all the guys, it’s also seamless with Ms. Stoker’s characters. Such a great chapter with the hospital visits on the same day and Zane, after letting go of his special cargo to Anya. It’s such a wonderful and fulfilling journey reading about the strengths of the heroines and how they handle their new path with the help of their hero.
Can’t say enough about this book and series and this author. Ms. Riley is ALWAYS a one-click purchase.
I received this advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.

OooooooMmmmmmmGeeeeeeee…just when I think Riley has out done herself out pops another heart stopping, mind bender in this heart breaking, yet up lifting, terrifying, yet exhilarating and tragic, yet a gift, of the most strongest woman and the man that is strong enough to help heal her…whew, what a book!!!
10.15.19 Kyle Riley Edwards
Just wow. Very intense and fantastic book. Huge props to Riley Edwards in writing in such a way that think you can imagine what Anaya lived/survived thru but then you realize that you really don’t want to even imagine it. Then there is Kyle realizing he’s head over heels for this strong woman and willing to do whatever was needed to make sure Anaya is happy. I just love how the male alphas in her books just do everything over the top for their women. I swear every book this author writes is better than the last and I thought her last book was fantastic. I need her next book like now
This was yet another book from Riley Edwards I could NOT put down. The suspense sucked me right in. I’m also a sucker for watching an overprotective alpha flounder over a strong, independent woman. Anaya had a brutal past, and although she was still overcoming that trauma, she devotes herself to preventing the same outcome for other girls. Kyle was an amazing support for Anaya once he truly accepted how independent she really was. Now I’m impatiently waiting for Max and Declan’s books!
I loved this book and the other gold team books. From the beginning there was a connection
between Anaya and Kyle. Anaya had very bad childhood and bad experience where she closed herself off from any friendship. Kyle is deep down protector and wants to kept Anaya safe but let’s her
have leeway to make decisions.
Riley you have done it again.
