A glistening, golden, alien body. The hard muscles of an alien warrior. Two horns from his head. And the best part? That’s not all he has two of… getting involved in when I agreed to be his mate.
I knew of the Kilgari. But I really didn’t know much about them.
Let’s just say I’m both excited but I’m gonna be taking some very deep breaths to prepare myself.
I mean…can you imagine the possibilities?
Sure, there’s more to my fated mate than just his two…things.
He’s fiercely protective.
He takes charge and makes sure that I’m taken care of.
All his focus is on me.
Every single moment of his is to make sure I’m safe. Comfortable.
And happy.
I guess what they told me at the Companion Academy was true in the end.
Too much of a good thing isn’t bad.
It’s wonderful.
Kurg is the sixth book within the Brides to Beasts series set in the Athenaverse. It can be read as a standalone, but it shares the same universe that you’ve found in other books. This book features a romance of an alpha male alien warrior, a smart, sassy human woman. Expect to see characters you’ve come to love pop in during the story. No cheating and HEA guaranteed!

I really enjoyed this book. Could not put down, it was that interesting! Athena Storm is a good writer and I can’t wait for the next book.

Kurg wants a companion in order to be allowed to have off campus housing, and nothing more. But that is quickly forgotten when he meets Ashley. Ashley is and is not a conventional companion. She is fully trained and has all the skills, knowledge and talents of a companion, but her interests extend into areas that are not traditionally associated with companions. And she has had life experiences that differ largely from most companions.
Their relationship grows quickly while they end up being witnesses to an attempted hate crime = something that leads to having their lives at peril. Kurg and Ashley’s talents only go so far with the enemy(s) they are up against.
Institutional sexism and systemic racism are very timely themes in this story.
Book six in the Brides to Beasts series a well written alien story that held my interest until the end. Ashley and Kurg’s story there is suspense, drama, danger, villains, assassins, crooked politicians, and romance. I want to read the next book. My straight laced male had been hiding a darker wilder side to himself…

I’m surrounded by a whole bunch of younglings instead of grown-ups they all insisted that I haven’t paid my so call dues yeah right I’m so sick an tired of there constant immature pranks.
If Maru can live off site with his mate then so can I because that be one way to put and end to them tormenting me.
Ashley had worked so hard to make her dreams come true to only lose everything that really mattered to her and now she had few choices but she’d make this opportunity work.
Yes I did all my research on companionship and I totally understand exactly what they can refuse me there not those kind of females.
Oh wow my new companion isn’t what I honestly expected but then that’s probably a really good thing.
Kurg didn’t have any issues explaining why he’d wanted a companion he’s livelihood and quite frankly his sanity were constantly being threatened and he’d honestly had been afraid he’d strangle some of them.
My straight laced male had been hiding a darker wilder side to himself an damn I looked ravished wearing his marks.
However things take an interesting turn an now someone trying to have him permanently removed from this world and when the stupid fools make the biggest mistake of their miserable lives going after his female he’ll make them pay.

Kurg and Ashley are perfect for each other. Its like they are two peas in the pod, the same yet different. Kurg may appear to be arrogant but that is him, and its a fact. Ash might have been afraid of his two *** but she surely appreciated it.
I liked the way it was written — with humor — though things might be serious, the light feeling remains.

Kurg was an amazingly well-written story by one of my favorite authors, Athena Storm. This book 6 in the Brides to Beasts Series was intriguing as it had some very well-thought out scenes and story plots. These characters have very strong wills and personalities and their interactions are believable. This wonderful story has the following: intrigue, twists & turns, adventure, action, variety of races, humans, danger, love, steam and a HEA. I am always on the lookout for books by this author. Her stories get better and better.

Loved the storyline. The chemistry between Ashley and Kurg was great. This is another great Athena verse book, but on the funnier side. A thoroughly enjoyable book! This book had amusing scenes, romance and suspense with good characters.
Kurg wants to move of base and to do so he needs a companion. Ashley needs cash and begs to become a companion to get it. When they meet, sparks fly but there are plenty of twists and turns in their relationship. Will they find a way to make it work? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. I liked it.
What a smashing book, it’s got a lot of action, humour, passion and a great storyline. Kurg is a Cadet in the IHC and Vyker is his trainer, good to see him again. Kurg is the newest recruit and is constantly being hazed, he decides that he needs to get somewhere to live off base, he can do that if he has a partner, enter Ashley, a Companion ‘Bride’. Their story is one of discovery, passion and a lot of action including assassins and crooked politicians. Such a great book to read, l loved it.

Another must-read by this author. I can’t wait for the next book. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.

I loved this book. Kurg was so intent on successfully breaking all the records at the academy but had issues being a team player due to the hazing his classmates put him through. His idea of a solution was to hire a companion so he could live off campus. He was SO not prepared for the Companion he got! Ashley was as fierce and determined as Kurg and he quickly realizes that his Companion is nothing like what he expected. Their relationship has them chasing criminals all over the planet and learning to trust each other as well as Kurg’s fellow classmates. I loved the characters and all of the action that they were involved in. I was on the edge of my seat with these two and when the book ended I was as satisfied as I am with all books in this series by these authors.

…second choices?
Being a companion may be what Ashley trained to do, but it isn’t actually her first choice for how to spend her life, yet that’s the path she finds her life taking when events conspire against her chosen path.
Kurg imagined having a relationship at some point, but right now, all his focus is on being a cadet, on training, not just succeeding, but exceeding— setting records, and achieving goals. The pranksters in his unit make that seem impossible, but if he has a companion he can live out of the barracks, off base, and away from the pranks.
Each of these characters is determined to figure out how to make the best of their situation, how to turn these second choice situations into a life that feels like it was truly their choice. It was that positive and determined attitude that kept me reading, as they dealt with racism, different cultures, and strangers thrust together and trying to build a life.

This is the sixth book of the “Brides to Beasts” stories. So cut and enjoyable. Ashley has been matched with a Kilgari Beast named Kurg. Kurg is having a difficult time in dorm life. She wants to live outside the dorm but he has to find a companion to do that. There is instant chemistry between Ashley and Kurg. Kurg is very protective of Ashley, takes charge and care of Ashley and all his focus is making sure she is happy, safe and comfortable. She also finds out the best thing about the Beast. I’ll let you read the book to find out what that is! I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Once again a great story. The details this author takes the time to paint is wonderful. Kurg smart, handsome and tired of the people he works with. He is gold, horned, and equipped with two wink wink. Ashely signs up to be a companion and she is contracted to him. In this story you find out you do not take Kurg’s companion. This is my honest review of this Athenaverse book.

Another fast, fun read in the Athenaverse about Kurg, a Kilgari cadet and Ashley the human companion. There is romance, action, a hitman, a kidnapping, and a rescue that makes for an exciting read.

I really enjoyed this story! Kurg is a Kilgari that is a new cadet at Barakus Academy who applied for a companion to get housing off campus to stop himself from hurting his team mates that keep playing pranks on him. Ashley is a fully trained companion that chose to go her own way in the world, but when her hoverbike business closed after a big company moved in across from her she chose to go back and become a companion to pay off her debt. When Kurg and Ashley meet there is instant chemistry, but some misunderstandings. When Ashley gets into a bit of trouble while trying to help a store owner from thugs, Kurg rescues them before they get hurt, but now Kurg and Ashley have a target on their backs as one of the thugs is the son of a very important man.

Kurg is a Kilgari who is a new cadet at Barakus Academy on Felora VI and a classmate of Maru. He is sick and tired of all the pranks his classmates continue to play on him and wants to move off base. To do this he needs a companion, so he sends off for the first available one.
Ashley is a fully trained companion who opted to go out into the world on her own rather than become a companion. She open her own hoverbike store and is doing great until a huge competitor moves across the street and put her out of business. She takes her tattooed body and pink hair and goes back to the Companion Academy and begs to be given a chance as a Companion, even offering to have her tattoo’s taken off and dye her hair back to its natural color. She needs the money to pay off her debts. She is surprised when she discovers they have a placement for her immediately and she doesn’t need to change a thing about her appearance.
When Ashley and Kurg first meet, they hit it off immediately. Krug loves her hair and tattoo’s and she loves his hooverbike!! Love at first sight – sort of. Krug recognizes Ashley as his mate, but Ashley isn’t totally sold on the idea. Krug manages to put his foot in his mouth a lot, not being used to caring what a female thinks of him. During their ups and downs Ashley goes shopping and manages to run into the son of a Mafia Family that is very anti-alien and helps a shop owner defend her business. Fortunately Krug shows up just when it’s starting to get ugly and chases all 4 of the thugs off. That now makes him a target. They trash his beloved hooverbike and assault Ashley when they are out on a date. The thug hires an assassin to take out Kurg, which doesn’t work, but does injure Krug pretty badly. Ashley decides she needs to protect Kurg, so she goes after the assassin, but of course her plan backfires and she gets kidnapped and held as bait for Kurg. Kurg tries to rescue her and fails miserably. He finally realizes he can’t do everything for himself and goes to his commander and unit for help.
This is another great Athenaverse book, but on the lighter, funnier side. A thoroughly enjoyable book!

Wow, she has done it again! A fast paced, exciting read which is both steamy and full of action, adventure and humour. The characters are very well described and so realistic you can’t help fall for them all – not just the main two but all of them. This book has a HEA ending and was an absolute riveting read. I should now by know to start these books earlier in the day! This book deserves extra starts. Cannot recommend highly enough.
