Holy heck, Measha, you really pulled out some super dark nastiness for this book
Wowsers, this is one dark story that held my attention from start to finish. There are possible triggers in this, lots of triggers, but if you’re ok with non-consent then I really do recommend this novella.
Magdalena is such a ‘normal’ girl you couldn’t help but connect with her. She might have been a little bit naive, but only in the same way the vast majority of us would be when it comes to organised crime and sex slavery. I absolutely adored her. Kristoff is a really good antihero, he isn’t a good man at all. Thankfully he grows to like our heroine as much as I did, and Kristoff is nothing if not possessive of what he sees as his.
I read this in one go, once I’d met this pair I really couldn’t put the book down. Even when I had to read it through my fingers there was still something special about the writing that just held me spellbound. The story flows well, with a really easy to read writing style and where both plot and pace were really good. It was perhaps a bit too insta-love for my taste BUT in a book of this length there is always something that has to give.
I always worry when an author I like ventures into the dark zone. I’m really picky over what I consider a dark read and dread it in case they don’t hit the mark. Thankfully Kristoff completely and utterly hits the target, perhaps almost too well at times! I loved it and really hope Ms Stone writes more books of this ilk.
Effing hell WTF did I just read… OMG Measha has done it again. She has written a story that has sucked me right in and kept me reading till the end and when the end was there I was looking for more. I needed more I was screaming at my kindle and I was like no Measha I need more. I need more Kristoff and Magdalena in my life.
Magdalena is writing a story one she should not be writing when she gets kidnapped and taken into the sex trade. She is going to be trained and then sold to the highest bidder only she is determined to escape by any means necessary. That is when she meets Kristoff her trainer.
Kristoff is to train Magdalene in the sex trade world and she is to be sold to the highest builder only he sees Magdalena in a different light and that causes him to second guess his job and what he does next is what made this story so crazy dark and disturbing and had me biting my nails wondering what was going to happen next.
Be warned this is a dark book, with dark elements. It may have triggers for some. If you don’t think you can handle that this may not be for you. Otherwise, keep on, keeping on, because this series of Blair’s World books are so freaking good.
Kristoff, and Magdalena met in a not so good situation. For Magdalena at least. For her it was in a way, wrong place, wrong time. For them, promised opportunity. This one is a lot of emotion, and wtf moments that have you spinning, but it there’s something between Kristoff and Magdalena, that keep you glued to the pages.
The books in the Blair’s World are killing me. So much emotion, angst and all around feels. If you can feel it, it’s there. These authors are weaving this world so well, and so seamlessly it absolutely amazing. Each book is its own story so it can be read alone, but to be read together is such an experience it’s beautiful. Absolutely perfect. There are some serious triggers in this one, so be prepared for that. But this book is so good, and I read it in one go. So much loved it.
A novella in the Blair World. If you haven’t read Blair, don’t worry, you can read this novella without any problems as a standalone.
It is the story of Kristoff and Magdalena. I enjoyed Magdalena’s characters. She was interesting. There is a lot happening in this novella. It is fast paced with two pretty dark scene’s, which won’t be for everybody and some twist and turns.
That makes it a quick read, but for me it also felt rushed. There was to much happening and I just didn’t feel or really get the connection between Kristoff and Magdalena. For me it would have worked better if it was a full length novel.
One thing I love about Measha Stone writing is that her characters are so complex and developed. She puts in a lot of detail and thought into the motives of the characters and their relationship. And that was something I missed in this book.
W.O.W. Measha Stone’s story for Blaire’s World is awesome.
I love the mentions of Maksim in this story.
Kristoff and Magdalena’s story is captivating and keeps the reader glued to the book. But the major twist in this story I did not see coming.
Fantastic book Measha! I highly recommend it!
This is a dark, intense story filled with action, violence, mystery and a twisted romance. Magdalena is a strong, stubborn freelance journalist investigating sex trafficking who gets kidnapped. Kristoff is a dangerous alpha male who ends out falling for Magdalena while training her for auction. Magdalena and Kristoff’s chemistry is crazy intense The writing is beautiful, the characters were well developed and as crazy as this sounds I rooted for them every step of the way. Great addition to Blaire’s world.
Magdalena makes some ill advised choices which land her in an awful situation. She seemed innocent in the sense of not really grasping what could befall her until she wasn’t left in any doubt. Her character was believable for me in her reactions to the events and people surrounding her. My heart went out to her and if I could have jumped into the story to save her I would have. So for me that makes it a book that I found worthwhile to read. Now as to Kristoff I can’t say I really ever forgave him for the hurt he caused Magdalena in the beginning so I am a little biased. He was a forceful character who didn’t seem to have much empathy for the other women but he does soften toward Magdalena. He isn’t a nice guy so don’t expect him to be but he is Magdalena’s savior so I can grudgingly admit he did have a few good points. This story kept my full attention but there are some very harsh scenes that might not be for everyone.
Oh, my! From the beginning to the end, the story takes us on a journey filled with twists, turns, the unexpected and most devastating betrayal. Our emotions are rocked, sends chills down your spine and keeps you on edge throughout the story! Measha Stone is an amazing and accomplished writer to create this well written story with characters of depth and unique personalities.
Magdalena is a freelance journalist investigating sex trafficking in London.
All she wanted was a few photos of the Dowidoff’s house and any information
however small. Her world is turned upside-down when she finds herself kidnapped, put into Kristoff’s hands to be trained and sold at an auction. Kristoff is dangerous, a sexy, HOT Alpha male who sees her spirit and spunk, as he tries to break her. He knows there is no hope or way out for her. But, he sees the fire in her eyes, her inner strength and develops feelings for her and wants to protect her. We feel, her fear, her despair, as she tries to free herself. They are both caught in his father’s web and the reader has no idea how the will get out of it.
Measha Stone is able to show us the characters undergoing change, as they struggle with their fate and adapt to the fate they have chosen. The book kept you interested with non-stop action, intrigue, pain, sadness and a gripping story. It is dark and steamy. Loved it!
A very intriguing story by a new to me author. I was unable to stop reading at times but had to due to my job. I’ll definitely be checking out other work from this author. If you are new to dark, you should pick up this one!
Kristoff is a guy you love to hate, and then you see more in him. Magdalena is taken, used, abused, trained and removed from her old life. This story has triggers and non/con and while dark, disturbing, degrading, violent and more in it’s own way it is a compelling and intriguing read! One that will invoke a large range of emotions and stay with you long after that last page is read!
You might start out wanting to punch Kristoff in the junk, but I promise you he redeems himself in the most magnificent way. Complex characters and wonderful world building in this novella.
Dark and raw, this book sure doesn’t pull any punches. The characters are good and the storyline well thought out with a few twists thrown in to make sure you were paying attention.
A young woman follows her older sister, an FBI agent, to the UK to write an article about human trafficking. Before she can even plan how to do that, she is abducted by the very man she wants to investigate.
What follows is a descent into cruelty, depravity and utter disregard of human rights. Handed over to a man to be trained as a plaything for whatever warped individual buys her, she gets, at first tentative, help from an unexpected source.
Still, both of them can not prevent her being subjected to the worst kind of degradation.
With frightening meticulousness Ms Stone narrates her ordeal and the devastating effect it has on her, but also the trigger it is for the events that follow.
Get ready for a tale of betrayal, greed, corruption, murder, revenge, but also love, which grows against all odds in this environment.
Really liked this book….kept me on the edge…
Wow, this is a dark book which grabbed me from the first page. I was terrified for Magdalena, a journalist, when she is kidnapped by a horrid man. He accuses her of being her sister who is a CIA agent. When he realizes she isn’t, he tells his son, Kristoff to get her ready to sell for his sex business. Kristoff is brutal in his training. There’s a lot to this book and I read it in a day to see how it would end. If you like dark books, I recommend this one to you. I have read almost all of Measha Stone’s books and have not been disappointed.
This story took my breath away. Literally, I swear I kept having to remind myself to breathe and I didn’t actually feel like I could take a full breath until I read The End. Everything was extreme from beginning to end and I LOVED IT! This story is DARK, DARK, DARK and full of trigger warnings (a lot of non-con) so be warned. However, if you are a lover of stories that twist your stomach in knots and make you gasp out loud then this is a must read. I loved the depths Ms. Stone was willing to go in this one. It’s one of those stories that mess with your head. SOOOO GOOD! The characters are fantastic, the dark is gripping, and there are a lot of surprises. There are so many things I want to say, but I’m really trying to avoid spoilers, so I’ll only say that this is one of those stories I will read again and again.
Kristoff Rocked it! 1st book I read from this author. I gotta say some major talent showing in these Blaire’s world books.
Oh man what a dark twisted story this is brutal and violent and parts are gut wrenching what Magdalena has to go through at the hands of Kristoff and his father, she was one tough lady trying so hard to not break and remain strong in her captivity I loved her character and Kristoff just following orders sees her for what she really is but is very dominating in every way. I didn’t want it to end I loved both of them their strength and determination and we get to see both sides of the characters the good and the bad.
Kristoff is trigger-laden, barbarous and absolutely perfect as part of Blaire’s World and Measha Stone’s brand of darkness is ideal. Magdalena is chasing a story on a human trafficking mob boss but it leads her into a scenario she is completely ignorant too and helpless to escape. Kristoff and Magdalena find a deeper connection in an impossible situation and seem to have what the other needs. As with all of the stories in the series I hope we get more books starring the characters in Blaire’s World.
Darkness followed Magdalena the day she taken, her life as she knew it was over. Taken by sex slave traders. Kristoff the son of the boss it was his job to get the women trained and ready for sale in their new lives. Kristoff was a dangerous alluring character who couldn’t explain why Magdalena was different from the others. This was a dark read and certain scenes were at times difficult to read, however through his absence the worst of her treatment and abuse was performed under the orders by Kristoff’s father. Kristoff was beyond disgusted and his rage was unleashed against every person that caused her damage. This a dark romance read, with a controlling man who has discovered that he wants to keep Magdalena for himself, as he has developed feelings for her and wants to protect her even if she doesn’t yet realise it. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Kristoff is probably one of the favorites of the Blaire World extension. It had depth, character, and backbone. I felt apart over the story even though it was short. Yes, it was darker than what I typically read but I loved every minute of it. I was raptured with Magdelena and Kristoff with their self-torture in their own ways. The suspense that tags along in their journey is… out of this world ruthless. It’s sinister and has hellacious actions within this beauty that are very transparent and the author didn’t show any mercy. So, PLEASE, if you cannot deal with non-consensual ways… then please don’t read.
