I love rockstar romances but when I first started reading this book it was kind of slow, but once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down! The heat and angst between Kozart and Aubrey was amazing and beautifully written. I loved the back and forth as well as the humor between the characters as well as the secondary characters. I will definitely be reading more by J. Nathan!
This was my first J. Nathan’s book, and won’t be my last. This is a great rock star and college romance. Aubrey and Kozart’s story is sweet, fun, and sexy. Kozart is a great character, with a difficult past. I love their instant attraction, and their chemistry. The ending is beautiful. I enjoyed reading this story, and I’m looking forward to more books written by this author. I received a free review copy of this book at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
Aubrey finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her at her sister’s wedding, and she escapes to the hotel’s bar to drown her sorrows. When Kozart who is a famous rock-star comes across her she has no clue who he is. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey with witty banter and is a humorous and entertaining read. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and recommend this authors’ work for all.
Rock vs. Country
When a rock star walks into a bar he sees a woman face down on the bar with a frilly dress and heels to match what is he to think? How about that said woman was at her sister’s wedding and she catches her boyfriend with another of the bridesmaids and only to make it better her boyfriend is now her sister’s brother-in-law. The setup is great especially when Aubrey is full of sarcasm which always seems to be on the funny side. The banter between Kozart and Aubrey gave me a lot of laugh out loud moments.
Another part of their first meeting is that Aubrey has no idea that the guy who took her back to the wedding to help her get some dignity back was a famous rock star that just about everyone on the planet knew and would have loved to catch him. Kozart didn’t want to be caught though and Aubrey didn’t like rock…she loved country music.
The childhood of Kozart left him damaged but would Aubrey be able to pull him through? This book kept me turning pages because it was that good.
Wow this is a new author for me and I love reading new authors! This book gripped my heart and didn’t let go even at the end. Kozart is a famous singer in a rock band so when he needs a little air he goes down to the hotel bar where he sees a bridesmaid passed out on the bar but she isn’t sleeping she is just mortified. When Aubrey looks at Kozart she has no idea who he is because she listens to country music but she explains her situation and Kozart steps up to help her. They start to have a great friendship but things start to get a little fuzzy between them but when the pressure to be a rock star gets to be to much Kozart he caves into demands and hurts Aubrey terribly. This story was a heartbreaker and you weren’t even sure who your heartbreak was for but I loved it. I requested this story at no cost to me and I have chosen to review it.
I hve read a number of J. Nathan’s books before and Kozart is definitely a unique story!
Kozart is a famous rockstar who happens to meet Aubrey just after she discovers her boyfriend cheating on her at her sister’s wedding. Despite the circumstances and the fact that he does not want a relationship, there is definitely attraction and a connection between them.
Aubrey was such a fun heroine. She’s sarcastic, honest, and sees Kozart in a way that no one else does. She doesn’t know who he is at first and even after she finds out she is more interested in the man he is inside than his fame. It was easy to empathize with her feelings on relationships and hesitation on what she should do next. I liked how up front she was about her concerns and that she just wanted him to be honest with her so he wouldn’t break her heart.
Kozart seemed a little cliche at first. The rockstar indulging in everything the lifestyle has to offer. That changed quickly, though, the further I read. He experienced his own share of difficulties and disappointments in life. He almost doesn’t know he’s looking for more until he finds it in Aubrey. He is definitely not perfect, but it is easy to see how he grows as the story progresses.
Kozart was such a fun story I read it in one day. I am really looking forward to seeing what J. Nathan writes next!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Words can’t begin to describe the beauty of Kozart and Aubrey! Their story was a crazy one for sure and would set the tone for how things would go! It was instant attraction but definitely took time for the trust and love to come! Aubrey wouldn’t give her heart again to just anyone and kozart not knowing what love is to begin with definitely needed to take his time! The thing was that once they opened their hearts to hope there was nothing else they needed but each other! Only problem was no one wants their favorite rockstar to be in love!
J Nathan penned a beautiful novel about a lost soul looking for someone to truly see him! Her writing is impeccable and full of beautiful surprises! A rockstar romance I won’t forget! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of these amazing characters!
This was my first time reading a story by J Nathan. I love all Rock Star stories and this was another one that grabbed me from the first page until the end. I liked the sweet story of Aubrey and Z. He had a rough time earlier in life and had a hard time learning to trust but glad he continued on with Aubrey and stayed around to make their friendship last. It was a fun beginning that I have not read before so that was a nice way to begin the book.
J. Nathan never disappoints. Kozart was a fantastic book, didn’t put it down until it was finished. Took me a day to read it. I loved Aubrey’s sense of humor, I laughed from start to finish. Most definitely recommend.
Rating: 5 Musical Stars!
I was so used to J. Nathan’s sports romances, that when she came out with this rockstar romance, I thought there’s no way it could be better than her sports series. I WAS SO WRONG!
Kozart was leading the life every musician dreamed of having–women at his disposal, music playing off his fingertips—but it wasn’t enough for him. At 25, he was getting tired of the same old song (no pun intended) and dance routine and wanted a change.
Meeting the girl in the pink dress at the hotel bar would forever change Kozart’s life in ways he never thought possible.
**
When Aubrey meets Kozart, she’s not in the best of circumstances. She found her boyfriend cheating on her with someone in her sister’s wedding party, but before she knows it, Kozart becomes her knight in shining armor when he’s ready to go back to the wedding from hell with her to prove that she is better than the boyfriend she left behind.
What starts off as a favor, turns into a budding romance that brings Aubrey and Kozart to a place they never expected to be in, but now never intend to leave–each other’s arms and hearts.
Once again J. Nathan does a fabulous job bringing two unlikely people together to find a love so rewarding, it makes you want to read her books as fast as you can to get to the happily ever after endings.
So this was a cute book. I liked Kozart but he did cross the line in this book. He met Aubrey on a dark day but made it so much better for her. With Aubrey I never grabbed ahold of her. She held her own with Kozart and didn’t back down. She got to see a different side of him that other didn’t. She pushed him to be better. One problem I had with Kozart’s world was his promotional team and his band. I saw there point but at the same time, isn’t he allowed to be happy? Apparently not for them. They kinda redeemed themselves by the end but not much. Kozart had a image to uphold but Aubrey changed that for him. He was sweet with her and let her share his firsts with him. But I still can’t get over him betraying her. It was a heartbreaking moment. For the author’s first rock star book, it works. I loved how Aubrey was able to convert him to try other genres of music. Those parts always cracked me up. I will continue to read from this author especially if she keeps up the rock star series. Oh and her ex is like a bug that keeps coming back despite swatting at it a million times. He is delusional for sure but I think he finally got the hint..I mean a rock star comes to dinner declaring his love kinda does that lol.
In all my years of reading, I’ve had my fair share of rock star romances land on both my actual and virtual bookshelves, so a number of the story lines sound like familiar refrains with maybe the tempo or beat changed up. J. Nathan, however, has added her own creative nuances to her story that makes it feel quite refreshing a read for me. Aubrey and Kozart don’t seem to have a whole lot in common; she’s a little bit country (music) and he’s a whole lot of rock (music), but they roll with it. (Get it?! Moving on…) These two were heavy on the flirting and banter, but they were in short supply when it come to trust. Weirdly enough, you’d think that the fact that he was a rock star and she was a regular person would have been complicated enough, but they just seemed to fit so well that their interactions were really easygoing. Life, however, and what’s expected of them is what causes the issues.
When a go-to author of mine steps out of the proverbial box to pursue something different from their norm, I’m just happy to be along for the ride. Can a romance author take on a new sub-genre and not do as well? Absolutely, but that wasn’t the case with J. Nathan. I absolutely loved everything about Aubrey and Kozart’s love story. There was some wit and humor matched nicely with the sex and romance. There was angst but nothing overly dark or heavy, and I was totally charmed by Nathan’s writing and the story itself. Kozart all too easily snags five-plus stars.
I received a review copy of this book before release for an honest review.
Kozart is the story of Audrey who is a senior in college and who just found out her boyfriend is a cheater at her sisters wedding and the ex is the brother of the groom, so there is a close family relationship with the ex, plus they were going to live together for her senior year.
I loved Audrey SO much, she is strong and tough and she knows what she wants and she is very unforgiving and I loved that about her. She gets very dunk on the night of the wedding and she meets Kozart then.
Kozart or Z is a rock star but Audrey is a country fan so she doesn’t realize that. She brings him back to the wedding and that’s when the fun starts. Mostly this was a super awesome story about two very different people becoming friends, confidants and then falling in love.
Z does some weird stuff which I kinda hated but then he has to work hard to get Audrey to forgive him. I loved how much self esteem Audrey has. You don’t always see that in a college age romance. The story was pretty awesome too and I loved all their flirting and text messages.
If you love college romances and a rock star romance then this is a wonderful story.
I really liked this one, from Kozart & Aubrey’s first meeting I was hooked. The connection they had, the respect Kozart had for her and the slow moving friendship made it even better. I love a Rockstar with heart and Kozart surprisingly delivered. The banter between these two was fun and realistic.
WOW! Just WOW.
I read a lot of NA books. I find them to be light and fun and it’s a great escape. J. Nathan takes her NA books to another level, though. When I download a new J. Nathan book I know I’m gonna smile and fall in love with her characters, but more than that- I know I’m gonna get such depth of emotion. I know I’m gonna read a book that will stay with me for a long time to come. Kozart by J. Nathan totally exceed my already high expectations.
Kozart starts out with the perfect meet-cute. Aubrey is trying to-be passed out at a bar after being humiliated at her sister’s wedding and in comes Kozart, a rock-star who she doesn’t even recognize, to save her. The dialogue between these two will keep you smiling all through the book. (Seriously great dialogue!)
Aubrey is a heroine I love and can admire. She’s self-assured, has great friends, and won’t let herself be taken advantage of. I really enjoyed seeing this strong young woman take on Kozart.
As for Kozart – oh my gosh, he broke my heart as I fell in love with him. I thought he would turn out to be the stereotypical rock star – arrogant, with lots of girls all over him. But he was such more. He has a sh*t past and we soon find out, he is so much more that what the world sees. And ladies? As we discover who the real Kozart is, I guaran-damn-tee you, you will fall in love. When he says to Aubrey, “I thought you’d fight for me” well I swooned like a Victorian heroine! Oh the feels.
Kozart is wonderful story that I’ve already read twice and I KNOW I will keep re-reading. I just love the characters so much. I especially loved how J. Nathan took her time letting the characters get to know each other. This is way more that your typical rock star NA romance. It’s a solid 5-star, top read for me. Go one-click! You won’t regret it.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this novel. I am voluntarily and freely providing an honest review.
I love a good rock star romance and Kozart was that and so much more! From the very first page I was hooked into these two characters and their story. I devoured this story, it was such a fantastic, enjoyable and engaging read. I adored every page of this book.
These two together certainly gave me the tingle vibes. The build of their friendship was exciting and I loved how even though they tried to keep it platonic, they couldn’t help the feelings that seemed to grow. I loved the banter between them and the little gestures Kozart did for Aubrey.
J. Nathan penned a beautiful and heartwarming story about a lost soul looking for someone to truly see him. Her writing is impeccable and full of absolute gems and surprises. She did a fantastic job with their love story, and I enjoyed every bit of it. A rockstar romance, that was for me, unforgettable.
This book was amazing!!!
I absolutely loved Kozart and Aubrey together. I really liked how Aubrey stood her ground throughout the book, being honest with how she felt and how their relationship should proceed. Kozart was upfront with Aubrey as well in regards to what he could bring into their relationship. Of course as things progress, they both realize this is more than just spending time together.
Kozart and Aubrey are both stubborn in their ways and this is shown when things don’t exactly go the way they planned.
Hard ships are faced, but it goes to show that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you came from, when you find “the one” everything can change.
5 STAR READ!
Kozart was a great take on the rockstar story. I liked that this was a bit different, a bit sweeter than many of the books you’ll find in this trope. Kozart, the man, isn’t your typical manwhore rock god, who thinks he’s God’s gift to women. Yes, he pretty much holds the world in the palm of his hand, but he needs more than the fame, fans, and fortune being in a band brings him.
Enter Aubrey. When Kozart meets Aubrey, someone who has absolutely no idea who he is, he realizes what his life has been missing. Although their relationship may have started out unconventionally, I liked that they worked their way back to friendship and then to much more than friends.
Of course you can’t have a book about a rockstar without at least a little drama, and while it was somewhat predictable (why didn’t you just trust him like he asked Aubrey?!?) I appreciated that it wasn’t drawn out.
I really enjoyed Kozart and Aubrey. They were exactly who the other needed, even if a relationship was the last thing they were looking for.
I read a teaser / little excerpt of this book on Goodreads, shared by the author. After that little snippet I had to have this book! Stalked it, found the PR, signed up, got my ARC yesterday and started reading immediately!
Gosh, I love Aubrey and Kozart so damn much. What a fantastic story. The author got me hooked immediately, and I didn’t want to put this book down. I loved the friendship, the easy banter, how they slowly became more for each other. And than the heartbreak. And the little flashbacks of Kozart’s not so nice childhood. I was hurting for him so much. And than I was hurting for both of them…
This was my first book by this author, and I’m going to look at her other books now. Thank you for writing such a wonderful story!!!
I kindly received an arc for an honest review
Kozart by J. Nathan is the story of Kozart Savage, a famous rock star with the world at his fingertips. When he meets Aubrey, she has just found her boyfriend in a very compromising position with one of the bridesmaids. He steps in and saves the day for her. So begins their friends-to-lovers journey that will captivate you. I loved their interactions and banter from texts to in person. They shared great chemistry even as they dealt with what being together meant. Overall a sweet friends-to-lovers romance with all the feels.
