I was hooked from the start! The prologue was graphic and gory and horrific and everything I expected from the twisted, fabulous mind of K Webster! Koyn was born out of loss and despair. He dedicated the rest of his life to revenge, to take vengeance against those who took all that he loved away from him. However, when the day for retribution comes, one wee girl, his chance at redemption, stands in his way. Can he torture and kill and make them pay without losing what’s left of his soul? And can this girl offer him the possibility of a future he could no longer imagine? Read this book to find out!
I won’t even refer to the ‘heroine’ by name because she was everything I couldn’t stand about this story. I loved the daddy kink that was prevalent in this tale, but I could have done without her actually acting like a petulant child. Aside from the prologue, this story didn’t read like the typical Webster fare. I love that she wrote an MC romance and I absolutely adore what she created when she made Koyn. He was extremely alpha, dark and depraved, scarred and different. I was really feeling his drive for revenge and I gloried in every way that he achieved his ultimate goal. Incredibly violent, grisly, gruesome and perfect! The story of Koyn just gave me one more reason to love this author!!
Well Damn! This book was NOOO Joke!
First, there’s a warning. HEED THE WARNING! This book had just about every conceivable trigger. If you can’t handle the dark… I mean the dark where monsters live, don’t even bother with this book. Me, I love the dark and monsters.

So I think this is one of the books that it’s best to go in blind reading. What I will tell you, I held my breath, I had to pause my reading, I had WTF moments, I had moments I was so mad I wanted to throw my phone. This book, pushed my boundaries and then for fun pushed them some more.
This story is raw, violent, taboo, depraved, and just all around messed up. But you know how I got through the dark? K. Webster left me a bread trail that slowly weaved me into the light. The first thing I did (besides take a deep breath) was text my bff to tell her awesomely f@c!ed up this book was.
This is one of those books you won’t forget. It’s going to linger, mess with your psyche, hell I’m already feeling guilty for loving it. You want to take a ride into the abyss, grab this book! Just know you will probably not come back out the same!

So…Daddies are everywhere, and I decided to hop on the gravy train and figure out what they’re all about.
I admire K. I really do.
She’s brave. Insanely brave.
It takes guts to write. Period. It takes guts to put words on the page and let other people read it. Judge it. Judge you for it.
It takes a LOT of guts, like a set of steel ovaries guts, to write something that you know is going to be insanely offensive…grotesque and then to also add some pseudo incest to the mix and call it Romance.
It’s not for everyone, and that’s fine. It should not be. You don’t enter a K Webster book without a serious warning.
But it’s easy to disregard K and say she writes to shock and that’s all she does. But it’s not true. This book contained one of the most singularly beautiful no way moments I have ever read. If you don’t know what a NO WAY moment is, it’s the point in time where the characters have met and there’s a connection/attraction/something between them but they both withdraw and mentally think or say NO WAY. It usually happens around the 10-15% mark and then again around the 25-30% mark.
They reveal the LIE or error in their thinking that has kept them miserable their whole lives, the lie that is the reason they cannot be with the other hero of the story. Afterall a romance novel is the story of two people who are perfect for each other but cannot be together because of REASONS. The reasons are usually two fold, an external plotline (like they’re coworkers, or enemies, in this case she looks like his dead daughter and she has daddy issues) and an internal reason like her father abused her (WOUND) and she believes she can never trust anyone (LIE) OR he lost his daughter and wife in violence (WOUND) so he believes he cannot protect anyone else (LIE). The story is about these two people overcoming their lies and finding a way to be together. The NO WAY moment is when they resist their attraction and cleave to their lie and assert NO WAY is that person for me.
And if the author is really good, really truly talented at creating the skeleton on which the story will hang, those lies will relate to one another to create the books theme, and will connect to the past and the future, and act as yin and yang to one another. They will fill one another’s lives. In this case she’s a daughter with a bad dad and he’s a dad with a dead daughter he failed to save, so saving this girl fills the hole in his life, and him being a protective caring figure fills her void…also they have sex because it’s K Webster and it’s easy to scoff at some of this stuff, but she handles it was an ease I can’t help but admire at times.
There is a moment in this story that is a masterclass of a no way moment. It’s so perfect it should be in a text book. It happens just after he killed her boyfriend and orders her to get on his bike and she ruminates on how there’s a darkness in him that reminds her of her father, and how she’s been hurt so much she knows the only way forward is to stay on her guard. So she gets on the bike and wraps her arms around him and tries not to feel comforted by his proximity.
Most readers probably don’t even stop there to appreciate the elegance of it. The simplicity of it. But I’ve reread it about fifty times and concluded that K Webster is a damned fine author who’s made a name for herself by pushing boundaries. But I do wonder what she could create if she didn’t write stuff that’s full of blood and rape, and instead wrote something more mainstream. She knows what she’s doing. This book isn’t for everyone, but I’ll be reaching for that single 1k word scene for years to try to learn how to do what she’s doing with no ways
What did I just read?! Koyn and Hadley … oh my. K Webster grabbed me from the first page, sunk her nails in and did not let go. A few uncomfortable moments, but they were an integral part of the story. Great characters in the MC and look forward to more. This is my first read by K Webster and I have already preordered Copper.
Nobody does down and dirty like K Webster. This book was gritty and mean and sexy and dangerous and I LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT! I was in a book funk and this pulled me right out. Koyn and Hadley were so hot! I loved the other MC guys and hope we get to see more of their stories. Everyone needs to read this book!
I have learned from my devouring of K Webster’s books to go in blind. I don’t read reviews to avoid any spoilers or views from others. I go in blind and with my mind open because I know Webster is gonna take me on a dark and twisted ride – boy was this one helluva ride.
If you have ANY triggers – take heed because this book is packed with them and it starts at the beginning.
Koyn’s cause for starting the Royal Bastards MC is utterly heartbreaking. What he went through made my heart bleed with sorrow. When Hadley is introduced, I knew there was more to her story and holy crap – her story is just as heartbreaking. But I was drawn into their nightmare and ate up every page as I read how they clawed their way out. This is NOT a romance for light hearted individuals. This is a tale of a love born of vengeance, hate, and pain. K Webster has floored me again with her ability to write story with characters that I get completely wrapped up in and want to keep reading. I am dying to read about Bermuda, Dragon, Katana, Copper and the other members of this MC now. I am glad I added this to my Kindle, because I know I will be going back and reading it again.
I bought this book via Amazon and am leaving my review voluntarily. This is a standalone book but part of a multi author world. This is not a Harlequin version of an MC.
Triggers: murder, attempted murder, assault, rape, torture, unprotected sex (incl anal to v), age gap
**spoilers**
Koyn aka Jared – family man until his family is brutally murdered. He forms an MC and goes on a years long quest to find answers
Hadley aka Nicolette Genworth – from rich girl to biker girl. Used, abused she just wants to feel safe.
Fast paced, violent action. Some sexy time. This story has it all. HEA
Well hello! Holy Toledo, K. Webster certainly had me glued to this dark MC book.
Revenge is what it’s all about. Koyn wont stop until everyone has paid the price. Spanning over 10 plus years, plotting has taken up every “church” meeting.
The one thing that wasnt planned was PG stepping into the mix.
Dark, Dirty, Daddy, Sexy, Sham-wow panty worthy of a read!
OH lordy, where to start with Koyn! Y’all, I confess I am not a big MC type reader, however when my fave author goes, I’m gonna write a MC book, well you bet I sat my happy ass down and read this… While I am still not a big MC reader, I DEVOURED this book. I really do love how K can write in any trope her little heart desires and still stay true to her voice as an author.
Koyn. Prez. Alpha. Broken. Daddy. Phew… this man. After the horrors he’s witnessed, it’s a no wonder he is as fierce as he is. When his path of revenge collides with Hadley, runaway pageant girl, hiding from her own horrors, his “Daddy” side comes roaring to the forefront of his brain. Like all K books, there is a moment when it toes “that line”, however you can’t help but beg for that line to be crossed many times over. The dynamic between Hadley and Koyn is intense and I couldn’t get through it fast enough.
Even though it’s still not my trope of choice, I did become attached to the guys in his club that now I will have to keep diving into this world.
If MC is for you… y’all look no further. K pulled out all the stops and gave you a prez that will have you melting into a puddle on the floor.
*There are darker themes and some possible triggers. Devour at your own risk*
Really good read. Violent for sure. Koyn is a fantastic brooding biker. Granted the girl is a tad annoying, but she’s young. Very rarely do I give 5 stars, so 4 is basically the highest I go. Totally recommend this one.
This book will have you go from one extreme to the other emotionally. Koyn had such a tragic experience and it took him years to overcome it. Hadley had horrible, horrible things going on with her and the two of them come together in the most unlikely way and heal each other. This story is dark, gritty, tragic, filled with evil and eventually loving. Trigger warnings are there so you know whether you want to delve into the darkness of Koyn and Hadley. For me, K. Webster told her story well and it’s a shame that only 5 stars can be given.
A dark and intense read. This story is not for the faint of heart. There’s twists and turns throughout. The tragedy that Koyn suffered was horrific but as you read you get to see through his end what he does to those that have wronged him and add in his MC brothers, you’ll get more than you could imagine. This chapter of the Royal Bastards are ones not to cross. Definitely recommend.
Koyn is an MC/ biker novel and part of the Royal Bastards MC world series but can be read as a standalone. This novel is a dark, gritty and savage and there are some scenes in this book that could be triggering to some sensitive audiences. However, this girl right here loves her MC book dark, dirty and raw. So, when this came out and it’s from this author, I was expecting to have my wish fulfilled.
As expected from the author, the backstory of Koyn is dark and that is saying it mildly. I felt his need for revenge right into my vengeful soul. This man had a hard life since that horrific night ten years ago and the brotherhood of Royal Bastards MC became his refuge. Hadley also had a past that she was trying to run and hide from. Both these characters known the evil, ugly side of humanity and it’s no wonder these two find peace in each other.
I admit that I’m not into so much daddy-little girl trope but I try to widen my reading horizon. Though there are still some cringing on my side whenever I read the “daddy” part, I’d consider it a win as it became minimal as I continue to read from this trope. I really think that there’s no need to emphasize it in this story though, and just get away with the age-gap/ forbidden romance factor (since it’s pretty obvious the gap in their age here and I think that’s hot enough as it is). But I guess, it would amp the steamy level when you add the daddy kink, most especially to those who loves it.
A pretty enjoyable read for the dark romance lovers out there!
My mistake was doubt
While I never doubted my unicorn author would bring a great story to life, I made the mistake of reading reviews before jumping in.
Without giving away the book I will clarify this is a dark romance and so some situations where tough, however our author did not place the heroine in detailed situations when her nightmares where present only expressed her feelings, the gore came on the revenge plot thickened. In short I enjoyed and recommend and ask anyone who’d take my word some other mislead the view as this was ultimate about one couple there was no sharing, and the antihero was a true alpha not allowing any to touch or look at what was his.
I was drawn into this dark tragic story, not sure if I was going to enjoy the story or not. The more I read the more my heart broke. Before I knew it I couldn’t put it down and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.
Heed the Trigger Warning!! Rape and Lots of detailed violence. Definitely Dark and Taboo. MC with age gap. If all of this is up your alley, then you will love this book. I was hooked from the first page. K. Webster will throw you into all the feels. Great read!!
Holy crap!!!!!!
I am not going to give much away because this is so worth the read and then some let’s just say MC+dark romance+ K Websters writing and it will leave you needing a smoke and a shower
O M G! K Webster has done it again. Every time I dive into one of her books, I know without a doubt I’ll be left mind fucked, deliciously sated and beyond thirsting for more. Certified book hangover. Every. Single. Time. And Koyn is, no surprise, brilliantly delicious. And, I mean, come on, who can resist hot MC daddy romance?! Sure as hell not me. Though, that probably says a lot about me lol.
Koyn and Hadley are a beautiful, heart pounding disaster from the start with a big juicy splash of out of this world HOT. The chemistry is brutal. The tension is addictive.
If there’s anything I’ve found I hate in romance, in general, it’s the naive innocent little barely 18 year old girl. Age difference is never an issue for me but when you give me a pure naive girl and well experienced man… I’m left annoyed. BUT that is not the case here. Hadley is young but she’s far from innocent. And she’s sassy, feisty and isn’t scared of the big bad biker man. Deep down she craves the comfort, security and warmth only a Daddy can give her.
And Koyn, oy swoon. I’m always a sucker for the big bad hardened alpha with a tragic heart wrenching backstory. Can’t help it. I love my alphas good and wounded. He wants vengeance but he also craves to be the Daddy that Hadley wants but most of all needs.
Koyn is a twisted and dark read but it blossoms, like K Websters books usually do, into a beautiful (and passionately strong) love story. All I can say is I wasn’t ready for their story to end but, like most epic delicious reads, I never am. I always crave more and always recommend Websters books and Koyn is no exception!
