Secrets from the past prevail to be known. Throughly enjoyed the characters especially Chinese cultural aspects and the unexpected scientific and medical dynamics. I wanted so much to eat with them everytime! Strong women who are good at what they do was relevant.
Great read!
Ty puts you right into Hong Kong so that you too walk the streets. The story line keeps you reading… I’m into the second book, already.
Fantastic book but I couldn’t find the button to give it 5 stars at the end of the book.
I’ve enjoyed all in this series, and Hong Kong & San Francisco are accurately portrayed.
Actually, I’m giving this one 3 1/2 stars because I read the prior book and enjoyed it more. The setting in Kowloon is interesting, as are the characters, but I thought the family “secrets” were too convenient to be realistic–and it all took place in 10 days…really?
Bogged down in the middle. Predicted the ending.
Didn’t capture my imagination or interest.
A great read. Great cast of characters. A nice overview of a different part of the world.
The ending was not very satisfying. After pages and pages of investigation Abby just flies back to San Francisco like nothing happened.
pretty good story, I wasn’t happy about the ending–author must want to start from where this left off to tell another story
It was too long.
Love the Inspector Wexford series and Ruth Rendell writes an intriguing mystery. Read late into the night.
Big fan of Ty, you learn of some old family history here. I’m sure the insight from reading this book will carry on with future books. Buy it folks!!
Good, but not as good as the one before this.
I didn’t finish it. Didn’t hold my attention.
Love Ty’s writing and this is a great read! Also look for my son’s self published book, due in March, False Assurances.
Everything was great except for the ending, which was unsatisfying.
Interesting, kept my attention.
