ReeseI’m done. Getting ditched at the altar is nothing compared to being humiliated there in front of three hundred shocked guests. Apparently I’m no good at spotting the signs your man’s a cheating liar. So I set off solo on my honeymoon to Hawaii, where I realize I’ve got this life thing down just fine on my own. Friendships and laughter? Yes.Adventures? Absolutely. But relationships? Hell no. … relationships? Hell no. Never again.
Knox
I’m a man of few words. My reputation as a moody prick is deserved, but only the handful of people who really know me see the man beneath the professional mask.
I’m a protector. A warrior. That part is true. But the world doesn’t get to see the rest of me. And women don’t seem to mind my gruff exterior—my bed’s always warm.
I’m content with life—loving it, even—or so I thought. But when I meet a beautiful pastry chef with a broken heart and a smile that softens me down to my soul, I realize I wasn’t really content at all before her.
I only wish I had the words to let her know.

I am loving the men of the Chicago Blaze series so much! Knox by Brenda Rothert was an emotional and sweet read. Knox may have a tough exterior, but he was all heart. He was caring and protective. Reese was just humiliated in the worse way possible on the day that should have been her wedding. When she decides to go on what would have been her honeymoon she never expects a man like Knox.
But after the vacation, they go their separate ways. When they reconnect again, Knox knows he wants her, but can he convince her they belong together? I absolutely loved Knox. He was just what Reese needed. Reese was more vulnerable and afraid to let someone in. I loved watching them spend time together and connect. Knox was determined to win her over but understood what she needed as well.

Happy reading!
Reese is told devastating news from her future husband on there wedding day leaving her at the alter. Trying to pick up the pieces she goes on their honeymoon alone. Swimming in the ocean she sidling finds herself topless. Swing her shirt on the beach she tries to find someone to bring it to her. Never thinking it was going to be a male someone but not only that but a fine specimen of a man. Now more then embarrassed she needs to put her feeling in check and get her shirt. Knox is on vacation with his teammates and there families. Never thinking he was going to meet someone in distress that he is instantly attracted to. But Reese is not interested after having her heart broken. Will Knox be able to get Reese to trust in men again and be able to have a relationship with her or will she leave him behind. I absolutely loved this book. This has a strong realistic story with lots of chemistry
Throughly enjoyed this story about Knox, the eternal commitment-shy bachelor who finally meets The One.
“In another time and place, I’d fall so hard for you.”
Reese Dalton is in Kauai after being humiliated at the altar. When a hot, gorgeous guy helps her with a wardrobe malfunction on the beach, she decides to throw caution to the wind and give in to their instant attraction. However, what happens in Kauai should stay in Kauai. Reese has to make decisions about her future and it doesn’t include keeping in touch with Knox Deveraux.
“She doesn’t want to admit she wants me, but she can’t deny the truth I feel every time we’re together – she needs me.”
Knox is on vacaction with his teammates. He’s there to have some downtime and relaxation. The last thing he expects is to meet a woman who may be the game changer for him. Unfortunately, she’s not in a good place. She’s happy to have a vacay fling but she needs to get her life moving forward again. Fourteen months later, he finds out she’s in his city, and nothing is going to keep him away from her.
This was a sweet, sexy story. Knox is a sweetheart! He’s a gentleman, protective and fierce. I loved his pursuit of Reese. Reese is so tentative and unsure after being completely burnt by love before, that she stubbornly refuses to see their relationship for it truly was. I was rooting all the way for Knox. He went above and beyond to win her over. I’d have snapped him up in a hot minute!!
Wow I’m at a loss for words because Knox blew me away and left me speechless !!!!!
This story has all the feels you want in a great read, it’s a story that will captivate you and it’s a story you won’t want to end. This is book 4 in the Chicago Blaze Series and it’s where we join Knox and Reece’s journey and believe me when you pick up this book you are embarking on a journey of love and life experiences. Their journey starts with a broken heart for Reece when she finds herself walking away from her wedding but determined to make the most of it she travels to Hawaii for a honeymoon for one and that’s where she meets NHL player Knox who comes to her rescue one morning, Reece finds herself thinking why not have some fun in the sun especially when she realises Knox feels the same as her when it comes to relationships neither are ready to take a chance on love.
Fast forward 14 months and fate steps in when Knox finds himself dining at the same restaurant Reece is now head pastry chef could the timing be right this time around for this couple….
This book has it all you will smile, you will sigh, you will swoon and probably shed a tear as you fall in love with the couple who both have hearts of gold. I loved Knox and Reece but I also loved catching up with the other players from the Chicago Blaze Hockey Team and this was a story I really didn’t want to end so where will this very talented author take us next who knows but I know it will be a story I will want to read. Entertaining read worthy of 5 perfect stars
5 star Review Knox (Chicago Blaze #4) by Brenda Rothert
This series is going from strength to strength. Every time I finish a book in the series, I am certain that it cannot be topped and yet Brenda Rothert has outdone herself with Knox.
Although this is the fourth book in the series, it is a stand alone and it is not necessary to have read the previous three books, but in my opinion, your mad if you don’t.
From start to finish I was totally invested in the story that Ms. Rothert wove, I simply could not put it down, reading all through the night, determined to see what the author had in store for Knox and Reese.
Reese was left humiliated, jilted at the altar and decides to go on her honeymoon to Hawaii on her own. I could think of no one more suited to rescue her and bring light and fun back into her life than Knox, even if it’s only for a short time. For me, Knox is oh so swoon worthy and ticks all the boxes; he’s a man I would love to have in my life.
I laughed, I cried, I swooned, but most of all I fell in love with Knox and Reese’s story. The writing is strong and the characters will draw you in as you cannot help but become invested in their story.
Fast forward 14 months or so and Knox and Reese meet again when he dines at the restaurant where she is now the head pastry chef. Initially Reese doesn’t want to get involved with Knox, but he is determined to break down the walls she has surrounded herself with. Will Reese allow fear to cloud her judgement or can Knox win her heart?
Another gem from Brenda Rothert in what has become one of my top hockey series of all time.
Knox and Reese will blaze a trail through your heart. Knox was not the man who you would envision as someone looking to settle down, start a family and be content to enjoy an evening at home, on the sofa watching Netflix and you would be right. Reese never imagined she would be spending her Hawaiian honeymoon alone. Fate has a way of bringing opposites together. No one could be more opposite than these two. Follow these two “foodies” through time and distance to hopefully a happily ever after that they both deserve.

Brenda Rothert is triumphant with Knox (Chicago Blaze #4). Reese Dalton heads to Hawaii after being left at the alter. While there she meets hockey player Knox Deveraux and has a vacation fling. A year later, they wind up living in the same city and Knox isn’t going to let her get away this time. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
I felt horrible for Reese and how she was humiliated at the alter and betrayed by her friends. I love that she still went to Hawaii after the botched wedding. She is an admirable person. I respected her values and goals. Knox is a good guy. I love how protective he is of Reese. I love that these two get a second chance.
Knox is an interesting and enjoyable read. It was well-written and entertaining. The story had several original scenarios that I enjoyed. I like the new owner of the Blaze and the role he played in the story. Knox is a great addition to the Chicago Blaze series. I’m looking forward to reading book five. I recommend Knox to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
