Know your Heart is a lovely story about Glen and Savanna. I enjoyed Reading the story.
I normally enjoy Tracey Alvarez’s work. This book was not bad, and I really liked Glen’s character.
The beginning moved a little slowly, and Savannah managed to stay pretty obnoxious through a good portion of the book. She didn’t redeem herself until Tom arrived in Bounty Bay. She fell off track again when she took advice from someone she had just met.
I guess I felt like I was missing some things. The story of Glen and Savannah’s past was confusing. He remembered her, she didn’t remember him. Was she self centered or was she in pain? She had an issue with her father, but their reconciliation was seamless.
At some point, this book picks up speed and becomes more engaging . Getting past Savannah’s behavior is the most difficult part. Ultimately the HEA makes an appearance. The last chapter was the best because of the HEA
Author Versus Actor
I enjoyed the first book in this series so much I immediately started in on the second. Narrator Rose O’Toole has become quite comfortable with providing a slight Kiwi twang to the characters’ speech without going full boat (which would likely be as incomprehensible for Americans, at times, as we probably are to them), and had me happily immersed in the troubles of a struggling actress and first novel writer fighting mutual attraction. Deeper issues of controlling behaviors and perceived abandonment provide insight and basis for conflict, adding dimension to a Rom-Com HEA.
Wonderful
Another wonderful book in the series. It makes you think about Love makes people to funny things to prove a point.
Glen is been in love with Savannah, his best friend Nate’s cousin, from the first time he saw her more than ten years ago. So, while renting her house in Bounty Bay, she knocks at his door wanting to get back her house, he knows that he is lost. Can they have a chance together and finally find love? A tender love story about love, friendship and pursuing your dreams. Very well narrated making you feel as part of the story.
I really enjoyed this book the characters are all really real and you feel like you know them. They are not perfect, they have flaws and they make mistakes, even the movie star, Savannah is not perfect. This book is wonderfully written and has lots of emotions, it made me laugh and it made me cry. I really enjoyed returning to Bounty Bay and look forward to more of this series.
Savannah Payne was introduced in Book 1 (Hide Your Heart) as Nate Fraser’s cousin. Savannah is an actress who is going through a rough patch. At 27, she is being overlooked in favor of younger, skinnier actresses. All she wants to do is retreat to her house in the Far North. Only one problem: Nate talked her into renting it to a friend of his for 6 weeks.
Glen Cooper is a disillusioned lawyer. He has bowed to the demands of his father instead of pursuing what he really wants in life. Now he has rented Savannah’s house to pursue his dream– writing. He has 6 weeks to finish his book or the publisher will back out. All Glen wants is peace and quiet. Oh, and assurances Savannah won’t be anywhere near her house. Seems he has been in love with her since he was in college and she was 17.
When Sav shows up Glen refuses to leave– he has a lease to back him up. Sav refuses to back down and buys a camper to live in on her property. What follows is 2 stubborn people who refuse to back down or admit when they are wrong. They certainly won’t admit to the feelings they have for each other.
Tracey Alvarez has written another terrific book. The characters are well-developed and likeable. The story grabbed my attention and never let go. There are layers to the story with more than just the relationship between Sav and Glen being explored. This story has humor, fireworks(Sav and Glen are combustible!!), love, fears, insecurities, warmth…and did I mention fireworks? Glen is a caring, compassionate, sexy hot man. Sav isn’t a diva. She is a down-to-earth, fiery woman. They make the perfect pair.
I highly recommend Know Your Heart if you are looking for a hot, sexy love story. You won’t be disappointed.
Best romance I’ve read where everything was perfect. The writing awed me. The characters drew me right in. The dialogue was witty. The story sexy, serious, funny, and so much fun. I’ve never shed tears reading a romance, but by golly, the end got me. As a writer trying to write her own romance novel to rid my head of the stories in it, I can only hope to one day be just half the writer Tracey Alvarez is now. Wow!
A slow and steady burn to the back story of their first meeting and to the romance to come. Hilarious introspective and analogies from both characters keep the story light and fun to read. A stand alone with no cliff hanger.
Another of my favorite authors . If it has her name on it, I
Will read it.
Very good read
Savannah a movie actress loses her part to a younger actress. She has the last chance at a movie in LA and returns to her home only to find that her home is rented to an author who will not leave. Savannah works hard at trying to get her home back…..will she get her home….or more than she bargained for>>
Just wasn’t my cup of tea. Couldn’t seem to get into it.
I liked reading it and was pretty much glued to the book it was good
It held my interest, and I enjoyed the story. It was slightly different, the way the guy and gal were thrown together. You will like it.
SENSUAL BUT NOT TOO STEAMY
